I removed all the ATI drivers.

Sep 6, 2009I am using a 3D scene using two lights.
The backgrounds is a soft green/yellow tone.
What ever I do with the lights, they create banding in the animation and the result is that it lookes like bad compression.

May 2, 2009I set up my refurb imac 24" 2.8ghz and discovered several horizontal grey and white bands on the screen during start up. It's not as noticeable on a photo background but is there when using a web browser with a white background.

May 8, 2010My macbook pro has an issue with banding periodically across the bottom portion of the screen. Usually a little twist of the screen or tap on the back fixes the problem but lately it's being very stubborn. I'm wondering if this issue is an LCD issue or a cable issue. I'm hoping it's a cable issue as the problem has been very periodic. I've attached a couple pictures of the problem.

Aug 18, 2009I'm experiencing external video banding/noise on a 2006 iMac (2GHz, Core Duo, 20" screen) when using Apple's video adapter (RGB to RCA/S-Video); I use it to connect my iMac's video output to my TV.
The noise is basically diagonal lines running top to bottom/left to right across the TV screen. They are faint and are more like ripples in the screen. It almost seems as though it's not grounded correctly.
I noticed this issue when I first got the computer; I switched the adapter back and forth between my iBook and the iMac and the noise was only evident on the iMac's output. I called Apple and they refused to deal with it, suggesting it was due to the video cable length (20 feet) even though the iBook was fine.

Nov 24, 2009as it happens just came back from a small apple store nearby with the intention of buying the unfortunately I found a display related blocker... : it turned out that the exposed 27" had banding problems that were clearly visible when you opened (for example) a full screen terminal window with 100% opaque black background; if you did, you could see as at least that 27 imac showed very good black levels for over 3/4 from left to right of the display, but as you looked towards right the remaining 1/4 of the screen presented a mild gradient from black to grey that was particularly noticeable in the right edge and bottom-right corner of the display.

Mainly when viewing black and white photos and even color. This seemed to have happened after I was trying to calibrate my screen using the Pantone Huey. Feb 7, 2009so i have a windows XP professional disk, SP2 and all. i am trying to install windows, i get as far as partitioning the disk, but once it says "please insert XP disk" i do that, and it will think for a few minutes, and make a loud noise [coming from the mac] then a message pops up and says 'please insert installation disk.' the disk is brand new, what am i doing wrong? should i be partitioning the windows side larger?

Oct 24, 2009Last night I installed VMWare Fusion and Windows 7 on my Unibody MBP running SL. When I use Fusion, my computer slows to a crawl. I spent a few hours getting Windows set up and installing software last night.
I would like to try using Boot Camp instead, but do not want to lose all of the software and files that I have installed. Is it possible to set up Boot Camp, and keep the same Windows setup?

Jan 27, 2010Im having trouble with VMware.. If I set the wireless network connection to NAT, the internet works, but my xbox 360 wont show up in the media streaming options in windows media player. However, if I change the network settings to bridged, I lose my internet connection (well.. sometimes it works.. 80% of the time it doesnt..) Connecting to bridged is the only way I can connect to my 360, and only some of the time where the internet will work. Is there a way to fix the problem with bridged or NAT so they both work together?

Now after my Toshiba crapped out and I switched to a Mac I was wondering why when I put the DVD into the laptop (MacBook Pro Intel processor) why I can only see the name of the dvd and not the contents. What is odd is if I go to the system preferences startup disk my windows install does not show up. I did move my windows partition a while ago to a new drive. I used bootcamp to create the partition and winclone to move the data. It's not a big deal not having the option in the preference pain but would be nice. If I am in windows and go to the bootcamp control panel both OS X and Windows are there.

I know that in OS X that if i pressed those buttons, it would do it even if I was in another application, but in the Windows 7 version it won't do it if another application is "active." Also, the same applies to the Apple Remote.

Oct 11, 2009This only happens when I choose to boot into windows. The screen sort of hangs for about 20 seconds in a black screen with an underscore at the top left corner before even starting to boot into windows. I know its normal for this to happen for like 5 seconds tops, but this is happening for about 20 seconds and its dreadful trying to boot into Windows 7 because it takes so long. When windows is done starting up i don't even get any messages saying startup failed or something like that. This is so annoying that I even reinstalled everything but the same thing happened.
