Is there any way to get the original image out of that, without damaging it too much?
I am trying to get this so that I can edit each part separately, how should I go about doing this? I downloaded this as a psd from here [URL].
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter installing the latest version of Photoshop 2014 on my late 2013 Mac Pro my images are showing horizontal banding when editing a layer mask. Adobe said this is the fault of the GPU (Mine: two AMD FirePro D500) and that I should post it here, for Apple to read.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife is a professional photographer. Her business is growing and so is the time she spents behind her computer (Imac) Photoshopping . She is complaining about the speed. So we are planning an upgrade to a Mac Pro combined with a Eizo screen.
I have some questions about the configuration. We are looking for something which generates speed. It has to be reasonable in price in three years we will buy another one, so upgradable is not that important.
The image size off the RAW photo's is 25MB. But in the coming three years will grow for example to 50MB when a new camera is bought. For a project dozens of these images have to be processed.
I recently just switched from Windows and I've used Softpointer's Tag & Rename which was an incredible program for editing hundreds and hundreds of mp3 files at a time.
Is there a recommended program for Mac like Tag & Rename?
What program would be the best?
View 2 Replies View RelatedLooking for a good photo editing app to do basic editing and what not...Photoshop is just a little to much for what i need, Was curious if there is anything out there is a good track record?
View 7 Replies View RelatedIve downloaded a bunch, but couldnt find one that fit my needs.
So on microsoft paint, you have the ability to set specific margins when printing, fit to page, center, etc... as well as change printer, paper type, and ink settings for optimal quality..
however i couldnt find one thus far to use on my mac.. closest ive downloaded has been google's picasa but there are only preset margins and nothing regarding print quality, etc
so i need a program with these capabilities..it doesnt need to be a good photo editor... i just need to open existing photos and be able to adjust print margins/ quality myself
I am about to purchase a Mac Pro, and I saw the rumor about the new ATI Radeon 3870 coming for the Mac Pro in late May.
I had a few questions about it and Mac Pro graphics cards in general. First, will this card be available as an optional upgrade when configuring a Mac Pro from the Apple Store? Is that usually how it goes?
Secondly, I'm a video editor planning to use this Mac Pro primarily for Final Cut Studio and After Effects. It seems to have been indicated that ATI cards are better for this sort of work, versus the 8800GT they off right now.
Do these programs gain significant benefit from using ATI or is it more unsubstantial?
The other question I have is whether or not these cards would be recommended for use with the Avid product line (namely Avid Xpress Pro or Media Composer). It seems that Avid only will certify NVidia graphics cards, as it has with the 8800GT. I also am aware that Avid is not compatible with Leopard just yet, but will be in the near future.
So does anyone know if Avid performs well (or at all) with the ATI cards? Would the overall performance increase of ATI over NVidia be enough to take a chance with compatability issues?
I am planning on converting my old HI8 tapes to DVDs.
I know there are a few options. Can anybody suggest a simple solution?I know there is a software you can install on my Mac. How is it called? Where can I get it?
Im looking for an decent image editor for my macbook, preferably free or lost cost. I have already tried gimp, but wasn't that fussed on it n currently have seeshore & livebrush installed. I am looking for an editor that will enable me to create buttons & images with transparency / shapes etc etc. On my windows machine i have [URL] installed & would be hopefully aiming to find something along those lines for my mac...
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've recently come into the need to do some basic graphics editing (mostly with computer generated images like logos and text......not photos) and was wondering if GIMP is sufficient to do this kind of stuff? If not, what software (CS5 is out of the acceptable price range) would you guys recommend?

here is what it looks like once imported into iMovie '09: [URL]
Is there a plugin for iMovie to fix this or something? I would you Final Cut, but my computer is slow enough, and adding heavy video-editing applications like that would not be good. Especially since I've had to replace my hard drive twice in the past year.
I have both a mac and a pc
now with my student ID i could get programs for a decent price
however it seems that there is a mac edition and a pc edition license for each program.
i was wondering if there is a way where i can pay once and use both versions. or do i have to buy for both versions
im looking for a program i can edit software .. do some simple editing mirroring and some more things. is there anything else i can use other then i-photo and adobe photoshop thats either free or cheep?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI own a PowerBook G4 15-inch, been enjoying it for a long while now, having thoughts of upgrading it. Performance Question, Is the current Black MacBook (when the top of the range Intel processor is installed, and when maxxed out with RAM) faster in overall performance than my now aged PowerBook G4 15-inch? I saw a bloke take out his MacBook at a cafe recently and I was blown away by its compact size (weight is an issue and I'm prepared to compromise large screen size for smaller resolutions and less weight). Schlepping my Powerbook around in my large and well protected shoulder bag is quite literally giving me a pain in the neck. Software Question: Will I be able to run Photoshop CS2 and CS3 and Final Cut Express on the MacBook without wishing I'd upgraded to the 17-inch MacBook Pro - weight issues and compact form aside - instead ? currently I uninstalled CS1 from my Powerbook G4 800Mhz 2GB Ram because its performance sucked soo much, I ran back to Photoshop 7 and ImageReady 7.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have only recently started using macs but I have been quite enthused by the experience. So much so that one of my friends is considering purchasing a Mac Mini. He wants to run Photoshop on it and (like me) is about to buy CS3 basic. If he hates the mac adobe will apparently let him cross platforms back to windows for a small fee. Also will he be able to run boot camp with XP fairly well or is the machine too small to allow this? He will buy the beefier of the two and with 2gig of ram.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI've searched for the solution to this problem but I can't quite find it. I'm trying to install Photoshop CS4 (regular, didn't have the money for extended) and it doesn't let me. Perhaps it's the amount of available HD space on my laptop. There are 4.3 GB of HD space left on this MacBook (2,1). Anyone know what's going on? The program says it's already installed, I believe.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI currently use a G5 PowerPC 2.5 Quad with 8Gb RAM. With the ever increasing size of digital images (my camera now takes 24Mp images), I find the initial browsing of my images increasingly slow. Also, non-Intel processors are becoming less supported by the latest software and I figured it's time to invest in a new setup. Just today, I sent back my iMac i7 (as a result of the well publicised screen issues) that was potentially to replace my G5. I have taken the decision to invest in a new Mac Pro and utilise my existing 30" cinema screen. The likelihood is that I will wait to see what the 2010 Pro shapes up like, but in preparation, can someone please tell me what is better for photoshop (I will be upgrading to CS5 once released), one big or two smaller processors?? For example, looking at the current offerings, which would give faster/better performance, a 2.93 quad core, or 2 x 2.26 quad cores, each with 8Gb RAM?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI run a MacBook (White) 2.16 Ghz 2007 model, which is running x64 Snow Leopard. When I open Photoshop CS5, the splash screen shows it is x64. So I wait for it to load, and based on Apple Developer news and articles, you can't have a 64-bit Carbon framework application. I knew that with Carbon framework applications, you can't drag a window around by its titlebar when it's not responding, or frozen. With the 64-bit enabled Cocoa framework you can. When it was loading, I tried dragging the titlebar, and it wouldn't work, so I thought maybe it isn't 64-bit after all. I inspected the program with Xray, and it told me it was Carbon. I was confused. Is Adobe having the Mac users on or is just my computer playing up?
View 3 Replies View RelatedApparently Adobe have not officially tested CS3 with Snow Leopard although unofficially they have and acknowledge some problems. They do not acknowledge (officially) the crashes experienced by David Pogue of the New York Times (but claim to be working with him per the John Nash blog at Adobe). I paid over $600 for PS CS3 a little less than 2 years ago. I think that's a premium that deserves support and not be railroaded into a $200 upgrade to a version of PS CSn that I don't need. Anyone else use Photoshop CS3 and not want to be forced into CS4 by Adobe?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I got an SSD for my Mac Pro and it has been good so far. I was using Photoshop to make some changes on a panorama, its a .psb that is over 17 GB. I have set up Photoshop so that my scratch disks are all 4 mechanical drives, and I unchecked the SSD as a scratch disk.
I tried using content aware fill on a part of the image and left for a while. When I got back on, it said Photoshop encountered a problem because the scratch disk was full.
I have 4 2TB drives set up as scratch disks and it looks like Photoshop only used my SSD, which was never checked as active! I had 80GB available on the SSD and it got filled up.
Beginning Photography school and we are using Photoshop CS3. I currently have a PC laptop, which will not handle photoshop. I am looking to get a Mac Mini and was wondering if Photoshop CS3 will bog it down too much or will I be ok. Which Mac Mini would you recommend?
View 3 Replies View Related I need some insight on powerbook G4 (1.0 Ghz and 2.0 Gb RAM.) I am a freelance digital imager and have to work on a massive amount of images very fast and efficiently next week. My company is planning to supply me with that powerbook.
I will be using Photoshop CS, and I need to batch (mostly rotate and resize) and color correct at least 20 images that are around 4MB at once. Is it possible? If not, how many images can it take?
I have a Pentium 4, 2.0 Ghz Toshiba laptop with 768 MB RAM, and it is quite slow when I try to do the samething on Photoshop Cs2. So, I am quite worried.
I deleted PS cs3 and wanted to reinstall it but when I go to install it it tells me to use a different installer. It also says that photoshop is intalled which it isnt. I have all the other applications like illustrator and stuff. How do I completely get rid of photoshop? I also dont have the original installer because im traveling.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I have CS4, and it's been wonderful on my new 24" iMac. After the latest 10.5.6 update, it started giving me this message every time I open Photoshop:
Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled GPU enhancements. Check the video card manufacturer's website for latest software.
GPU enhancements can be enabled in the Performance panel of Preferences.
This never happened before 10.5.6. A coincidence? Or did something change? Why does it keep giving me this message?
he wants to give me his PS cs4, im prolly not even going to use it, should i take it anyway? itll prolly just take a couple gigs of my hd and i wont use it
