I have images on my desktop, that are also stored in iCloud. When I open them from my desktop, say in Photoshop, that have an annoying iCloud icon in the lower lefthand corner.. Why is this and how do I make it go away?

I spilt soda on the lower corner of my screen, which then dribbled down to the black plastic. The macbook pro 13" unibody imemediately turned off, I disconnected teh power cable. I will wait to let it dry out. any prospects?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm on the Mac indicated on my signature and am running Snow Leopard. The 4 finger swipes up and down are so buggy in this release. When I swipe up, I get the desktop to show, I swipe down to have the current thing come back up, but right as I let go of my 4 fingers, it jumps back to showing the desktop. I can't get out of this cycle unless I click on the lower right hand corner or something. Video of what happens
View 6 Replies View RelatedUsing 24 inch iMac (purchased a year and half ago). There seemed to be moisture forming in the lower right hand corner of the iMac screen (about 6 inches wide and 2 inches tall at worst). i have read that this seems to be a common problem. Had the iMac for about a year and half and never saw this issue though. Based on forum research, the recommendation was to turn on the AC to reduce humidity. Moisture definitely disappeared after 30 minutes, however I'm concerned it will happen again. I suppose I will bring it into Apple concered (although i would rather avoid dealing with it). Has anyone else experienced this?

Just before it expired, I had the palmrest/keyboard/trackpad replaced (among other things) for the THIRD time due to the well-known cracking issue. Now that it's expired, I notice that yet again there's a chip missing out of the lower right corner of the palmrest. I know that the newer palmrest/keyboard/trackpad (with the iTunes controls on the F-keys) from the later Macbooks is backward-compatible with mine. Are they any more or less durable than the palmrest from the late 2006 models?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just noticed this why my computer was booting up today because its only visible against a white background, but there is some grey textures in the lower right hand corner of my display that resemble the strands of a carpet, in that they are fine lines that do not go straight up, but curve. The other thing it kind of looks like is frost. Anyways, anyone know what this is and if I can do anything about it?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have photos from my camera that i have imported thru iphoto.
I then go into photoshop and go File>Open>Media>Photos and it comes up with my iphoto pictures.
It gives me the option of clicking on the events or albums, but after that it does nothing. I cant select a photo, or open an event when i am viewing all events. Why?
Also, is there a way i can view the iphoto library files without having to open iphoto and look thru there. Thats one thing i miss from windows is being able to go thru the 'backways' and look at the files.
Ever since installing Snow Leopard, whenever I create a new image in Photoshop and save it to a file, and then I go into that file to look for it, it is missing. The only way I can find the file is if I enter the name of the image in the finder window and do a search - then it says that the image is in the image folder - where I put it - but when I go there, it isn't there. So the only way to find and then open that newly created image, is to remember what I called it, and then enter it's name in the finder serach window. The other problem that I notice with Snow Leopard is that the newly created icon images in finder are all blurry. The blurriness seems to be random. Some are, some are not.

I was just dragging some items around the desktop into some folders in the Finder and I guess something got messed up. When I was finished moving things around, a small square icon appeared in the left hand corner of the screen that cannot be dragged to another location or deleted. Whenever I click, it a small screen pops up momentarily, saying that it's going to open a file (I deleted the file) and nothing happens. After I deleted the file, the small square box just contains a picture of a question mark. I'm trying to get rid of it, but I don't know how to.

I am running Creative Suite CS5 and noticed all plugins will not work, as CS5 works natively in 64 bit. I have tried opening in 32 bit and the beachball of slow goes on indefinitely and will not open in 32? View 1 Replies View RelatedCurrently using 10.5.6 on an emac 1.25, 768 sdram with 150Gb. I have been using PS 2 for ages to improve my photos from a Pentax camera without any problems. All of a sudden, when opening a pic downloaded from the camera, I am getting a message:-
EMBEDDED PROFILE MISMATCH
The document "..............jpg" has an embedded colour profile that does not match the current RGB working space.

Working : Monitor RGB - Apple RGB
1) Use the embedded profile (instead of working space)
2) Convert documents colours to the working space
3) Discard the embedded profile (don't colour manage)
So far I have converted the pics one at a time without difficulty but it adds an extra process to it all. Why am I getting this message and how can I get rid of it?
I'm using an iMac(seen in sig.) and I had installed Photoshop, and while of course a little slow due to Rosetta it worked. Then maybe a week ago, it just seemed to stop opening up and crashing immediately. I'm running OSX 10.4.8, everything is properly updated and I've reinstalled photoshop a few times to no avial. The problem didn't seem to occur after any change, I might have just not noticed it though.

The Adobe crash report indicated that it's an Apple bug on file save/open, and when I did some research on the internet it indicated that (even from back i 2009) this is known bug.

I keep getting "problem reports" when trying to open applications that have worked fine for years. Microsoft Word, Photopshop, Illustrator an Avery CD Sticker maker all give me the problem report window with the yellow trianlge and exclmation point when I try to open them and say: "____ has quit unexpectedly. Click reopen to open the application again. This report will be sent to Apple automatically." Clicking reopen offers the same thing again, and again, and again.It started yesterday with Photoshop and Illustrator, so I took them off my computer and tried to reinstall them. Now I get "Install Photoshop has quit unexpectedly. etc.." I ran the disc utility and it said my hard drive was OK.

Recently the preview program has stopped working. I cannot open PDF files or image files, i.e. jpeg. The only thing I can think of that I've done recently is installing a program called "MailRaider." I just uninstalled it using a program called "Appdelete."
I tried this suggestion from the apple discussion forum that did not work:
Go to the finder, find one of the PDFs you can not open. then click on that PDF one time. go to the file menu, chose get info from the file menu. the inspector window that pops up will include a section on open with. expand that section and click on the open with menu and chose preview. then click the "Change All.." button.
all PDF should now open with preview. you can repeat this process with jpegs, gifs, tifs, pngs, extra as needed.
What else can I try? Do I need to reinstall the preview application? If so, how do I do that?
Opening CC2014 Photoshop files keeps throwing up error screens warning of a 'strtable error'.
Having just moved to the new MBP and at the same time upgrading to CC2014 means I'm not even clear on whether the file issue is an Adobe or Apple message.
Clicking 'OK' on the warning screen allows the file to open seemingly without problems, but it obviously doesn't promote a relaxed attitude to file integrity.
I've read suggestions that the issue is related to files having the wrong extension, but that's not the case here. Some of the files are legacy files from CS Photoshop; but many are created in the last few days by the same CC2014 PS app that's trying to open them.

Preview will still open .pdf, but not .jpg. It happened suddenly, no rhyme or reason. I've checked the info on the .jpgs, there's no restriction on the permissions that should keep them from opening, and Preview is selected as the app to open them. I've tried trashing the .plist, repairing permissions, and restarting. No dice. I'm running 10.5.6, and haven't installed anything recently.

I have a MAC OSX 10.6.8. My images aren't always opening up and sometimes the pages openup in an outline fashion without all the images. Sometimes it doesn't open at all and I get a message that "safari can't open the page".......this has been happening a lot within the last week. What can I do to fix this?

After upgrading to 10.5.6, the vast majority of my recently created, saved, or altered image files (JPEGs and PNGs, mostly) no longer feature a thumbnail preview image while in icon preview view mode. Rather, they merely display generic icons indicating what kind of file they are.
This is unbelievably frustrating. Is anyone else experiencing this?
EDIT: It effects old (read: not recently created, saved, or altered) image files as well. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to which image files are affected; one folder will display thumbnails, the next will be full of generic icons.
PS, this is not an iPhoto issue. All my iPhoto images have thumbnails, as per usual. This issue concerns image files in folders and on the desktop.
