I have an HP C4480 All-In-One printer. Scanning works, but when I try to print, it gives me a "Paper Size Mismatch" error.
I have chosen different paper sizes (A4, etc), tried different OSes, and
tried different sized paper. Sometimes the printer works, but rarely.
This was not always the case. The printer is only about 6 months old with my macbook, and began having this problem 2 months ago. The ink is brand new, and there's paper.
The problem might be that the paper size sensor is dirty or broken, and I read somewhere that I can physicall disable/remove
this.. or maybe in the software.
When I want to print a 'List' of addresses from Address Book as I do quite often, is there a way to permanantly set the 'Paper Size' to A4 instead of it defaulting to US Letter all the time? Its really annoying when you forget to change it when printing a list in a hurry! On this, Address Book 'Help' is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
I am using R1900 with my macbook pro (easy print) and I cannot figure out how to set a custom paper size. My paper is A3, but the picture I want to print should only print 21 cm x 30 cm.
How can I purge my print settings via .plist or other so I can change my paper size? No matter what I select, preview application 'refreshes' my print values to a fixed 8.5x11 that applies a second border to my pdf and pushes everything down the page. Borderless 8.5x11 just won't stay as the value even though my printer has done this before. Worked fine prior, but now it just will not take a new page size.
I have an Epson and a Canon inkjet printer connected to my Macs, and I am trying to find profiles for different inkjet papers that I can add to the printers so that they will print correctly on the papers.
The available paper types listed in the printing options are very limited and don't include options even for the range of papers sold by the printer manufacturer.
Photoshop CS5:When trying to change a custom paper size, in the print set up, the application quits.I’ve repaired permissions and reset the application preferences.I don’t have this problem with CS4.
I'm using Yosemite OS 10.10, haven't been able to find where to update my profile.
This now happens for any document, not only office documents. It appears the iMac regards the printer as ready and waiting, but the printer keeps looping the same page and the paper jams every time. After getting the paper out, the printer re-starts the same page again - with a new paper jam as result.
The printer is a Samsung CLP315 colour laser printer, connected through USB.
Only "solution" is to get the paper out and then quickly turn the printer off, and start it again to print a new page. I have an iMac 21", bought in May last year (the then new generation).iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
How can I change from the paper cassette to the paper feed on the back of the printer? I've checked the documents that came with the printer, but they are silent on this subject. Anything online is just a repeat of what they sent with the printer. There are help files, but I have a post on that subject elsewhere.
I currently have a HP PSC 1210 all-in-one that I purchased in about 2003. I'm pretty torn as to what brand of printer I should purchase. One thing that has always bothered me with my current printer is that whenever I print on paper thicker than standard 20 lb paper, it either goes in crooked, prints off center, or jams. Since I mainly use my home printer to print mailing labels and envelopes. I would prefer a printer which you load the paper in the top and it goes straight through, instead of in the bottom which takes the paper up and around. I like the print quality of Lexmark printers, but I refuse to buy a printer which forces me to change the ink cartridges. Are all Lexmark, Canon, and Brother printers like that? It's the reason why I've always purchased HP. I'm not in need of an all-in-one printer either, or one with a fax machine as I have a stand alone scanner and if I ever need to fax anything I just do it from work.
I haven't been able to get my Macbook to print to my HP Photosmart C4480. The printer is usually hooked up to another computer, although this hasn't been a problem in the past.
(I haven't had any problems with it in the past.)
I've tried to print from several different programs, including a test page, but I keep encountering basically the same problem.:
It slowly prints the first centimeter or so of the page, and then stops. Once, it printed the first two lines of text, but kept re-printing the second line (on the same page.)
The image and the test page I tried to print had the same problem, except they didn't repeat any lines.
I got this printer/scanner when I got the Macbook not too long ago and I am finally getting around to setting it up on the new iMac. It worked perfectly fine on my old G5 iMac running Tiger but for some reason I can't get it to work right on the new Snow Leo. iMac.
I open the HP Device Manager and go to "scan picture". It opens up HP Scan Pro and the scanner starts going but then I get a message on the screen that says:
Quote:
Error
Sorry an unknown error has occured
I fiddled around with some of the preferences and it's saying that it can not communicate with the scanner (which is wrong because it tells it to start scanning and it prints fine).
All updates have been done to both the computer and the scanner software.
Has anyone else had this kind of problem with ANY of the HP peripherals? Need some help with this guys/gals.
I have Macbook with Mac OS X 10.6.4. I have 500 gb internal hard drive. I only have 297 gb data in my documents but finder shows that my harddive has 472gb of data and only 28 gb left.
I attempted to download software to enable me to transfer lots of photos from my iPhone, but then kept getting this error.I have removed everything I can find to do with the progra and MacFuse but still whenever I plug it in this comes up.
I'm must be hitting some strange key combination / trackpad gesture (I just got a macbook pro) and my font size in safari keeps randomly increasing. This happens on the desktop with the icons as well.
I currently trying to download software and I keep on receiving a "Hash Mismatch" message. Other responses say that there is nothing I can do. Is this really true?
Can anyone tell me how to setup my printer to print to the edge of the A4 sheet instead of leaving a white border? None of my apps seems to offer a solution to this. I seem to remember being able to do it in Photoshop back when I used a PC.
why the iphoto library file size in the finder appears to be a certain size, while iphoto itself reports a very different size. Is there any way to recover any disk space or reconcile the numbers here? Please see the attachments below, it may make a bit more sense that way. I would like to recover the disk space and if it really is a 16gb difference somewhere.
i'm trying to get the file size displayed in the finder.i can right click on an individual file to 'get info' and find the size, but can the size be displayed routinely in the finder? i tried to 'view options' but 'size' and 'calculate size' are greyed out and cannot be checked.
I'm using iTunes 9.2.1 and it states that my music library is 159.99gb with 25,994 songs, however the folder containing music files is 171.26gb with 30,309 files. This is a difference of 11.27gb and 4315 files. The folder only contains mp3 or m4a files with their respective album and band folders; no images, text files or anything else. The iTunes folder is located elsewhere. I added the folder to iTunes again to see if there were 11gb of songs I'd forgotten to add and there was no difference. I even deleted all iTunes settings and the current library and added the folder again and it is still missing 11.27gb.
I'm about 95% sure that none of my music collection is missing from iTunes so my first thought was that iTunes is just reading the file sizes and count inaccurately and it really is 171.26gb, but I'm not sure.
Can anyone think of a solution without going though my entire collection and comparing it to iTunes to see if anything is missing?
Normally, the Finder window will display a folder's size in the Size column. However, I have one folder which shows as "Zero KB" in the Size column. When I open the General Info window, the Size reads as "Zero KB on disk (Zero bytes) for 0 items."
In order to get the folder size I have to go into the folder, select all folders, then with either the Summary Info or Inspector window, it'll show the folder size ("185.32 GB on disk").
Why is this occurring in only this folder? Is it because it's a large folder?
I'm running Snow Lep 10.6.2. The folder is on an external drive in FAT32 format.
I have a PDF document with 33 pages. I need to print this out, but what I want to do is have two pages print next to each other on one piece of paper. I tried looking around in Preview, but didn't find anything that would let me do this. Is there any way?
Since upgrading to Snow Leopard, I have been unable to print borderless documents from Pages.app onto plain A4 paper using my Epson R2400. Under page setup, I select A4 > Borderless Sheet Feeder but then under the print window, the option to print on plain paper is greyed out:
If I go back to page setup and change the paper size to non-borderless (e.g. standard A4) I do have the option to print onto plain paper. But of course I loose the borderless printing.
The problem with using the Premium Matte Paper setting for printing borderless is that the printouts are very saturated - obviously the printer is putting down far more ink than required. I am printing onto 350 GSM card and have used this paper for a couple of years with excellent results. Traditionally I was just printing borderless with the plain paper option ticked and the results were perfect.
I followed some advice on the internet on another forum after updating to Snow Leopard and downloaded Printer Driver v6.57 for my printer. I'm told this is the most up-to-date driver currently available and was released in June. But this does not seem to fix my printing issue and the Gutenprint drivers don't seem to support borderless printing on the R2400 either.
I've phoned Epson twice now but their support is hopeless. The first time they emailed me a link to download updated drivers, but this link started downloading a .exe file which evidently was not Mac compatible. The second time I phoned I was past between assistants for a while before receiving the textbook "revert back to Leopard or wait to see if Apple fix the problem in an update" answer.
Are there any R2400 users or others with the same problem or got any solutions? My research on the internet hasn't turned up much other than a similar issue with some Canon printers.
