View 4 RepliesI have an HP C4480 All-In-One printer. Scanning works, but when I try to print, it gives me a "Paper Size Mismatch" error.
I have chosen different paper sizes (A4, etc), tried different OSes, and
tried different sized paper. Sometimes the printer works, but rarely.
This was not always the case. The printer is only about 6 months old with my macbook, and began having this problem 2 months ago. The ink is brand new, and there's paper.
The problem might be that the paper size sensor is dirty or broken, and I read somewhere that I can physicall disable/remove
this.. or maybe in the software.
I have a HP All-In-One C5180 printer, scanner, copier, card reader.Every-time there is a MacOSX update then the scanner no longer responds.I have it connected to my AirPort Extreme wired ethernet, and I access it wirelessly; and also I have tried connecting it directly to my MacBook Pro via wired ethernet also.I don't have a USB cable, and don't want to go that routeIt had worked fine for some time, and like I wrote after some software update it doesn't respond.
I am tired of uninstalling and reinstalling the HP software, in the past it worked to fix the problem, but nowadays this "fix" isn't working for me.What i would like to explore now is if there is a way I can use the scanner with another software, preferably a free one.
I am looking for an all-in-one printer for two primary functions:
1.) Print wirelessly high-quality documents.
2.) Scan photos wirelessly onto my computer in high-quality and at a quick speed.
Basically, I am looking for a way to quickly scan my old photos into my computer. I am not really interested in printing photos.
I have a new MacBook Pro running on Lion and an older Epson stylus photo printer/scanner RX420. I downloaded a new driver from Epson and can now print but the scanner still doesn't work.
Info:
MacBook
Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3), Epson stylus photo RX420 printer
I just purchased a Dell 1355cnw printer and want to set it up for scanning over the network. I get a We do not support 10.7" rant. I have tried to configure it thru the Dell Printer Configuration Web Tool but not entirely certain as to what information needs to go under each option(See attached image)
Info:
MacBookPro7,1, Mac OS X (10.6.4)
I haven't been able to get my Macbook to print to my HP Photosmart C4480. The printer is usually hooked up to another computer, although this hasn't been a problem in the past.
(I haven't had any problems with it in the past.)
I've tried to print from several different programs, including a test page, but I keep encountering basically the same problem.:
It slowly prints the first centimeter or so of the page, and then stops. Once, it printed the first two lines of text, but kept re-printing the second line (on the same page.)
The image and the test page I tried to print had the same problem, except they didn't repeat any lines.
Does anyone know what my problem might be?
I got this printer/scanner when I got the Macbook not too long ago and I am finally getting around to setting it up on the new iMac.
It worked perfectly fine on my old G5 iMac running Tiger but for some reason I can't get it to work right on the new Snow Leo. iMac.
I open the HP Device Manager and go to "scan picture". It opens up HP Scan Pro and the scanner starts going but then I get a message on the screen that says:
Quote:
Error
Sorry an unknown error has occured
I fiddled around with some of the preferences and it's saying that it can not communicate with the scanner (which is wrong because it tells it to start scanning and it prints fine).
All updates have been done to both the computer and the scanner software.
Has anyone else had this kind of problem with ANY of the HP peripherals? Need some help with this guys/gals.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo i got this hair-brained idea the other day. I wanted to make a media server (mac mini + external drives shared out to my other machines. Mac mini hooked up to tv.) Then i thought...well i might as well use it as my data server as well. So...id like to find a program (free is good, but cheap is ok =P ) that i can use a scanner, scan in receipts, documents, taxes, etc... and store them so i can go paperless. The app must have a folder structure so i can organize them by year/month/item. I could do this manually, but i figure an app would be more useful
Any mac apps available? I'm a recent switcher (3 months ago) so i havent been able to find anything yet with my searches.
Does anyone know any good app for scanning? For now I use Image Capture but is a bit limited! I usually scan music cd covers so I need something more detailed in order to scan the front and back covers accurately!

I was surprised not to find more info on this issue with googling. My PSC 1510 will not scan in Snow Leopard. I know this was a popular printer, so I thought if everyone had this trouble, it would show up in search.Since hp support is built-in to SL, I stopped using the HP scanning software. This printer is listed as being supported by HP in SL. I've tried using Preview, Image Capture, and Print & Fax to scan. The iMac says scanner cannot be found, and my MBP says scanner is warming, and it never does anything. Correct drivers are installed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI usually do all of my scanning within Photoshop, and yes I do know there are other ways, that's just the way I roll. I have just upgraded to CS3 and cannot scan. The twain driver does not even appear in the 'Import' menu within Photoshop CS3. CS2 still works. I have downloaded the most recent driver for my scanner (EPSON RX510 multifunction), but to no avail. Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone know of a remedy?
