When I depress the center of my mouse to access the calcualtor, I cannot see the documents open on my desktop. With Snow Leopard and Tiger, I could see the documents, so I could actually input the figures I am trying to calculate. Now, some weird lego-type wall paper appears as the background. I see my widgets, but not the docs currently open.

Any way to increase this? With my screen at full resolution the print is very small and gives me headaches very quickly, so I have to set it to 1920x1080. I switched to Imac for processing photographs, so the advantage of a good quality screen is somewhat wasted. Also, at the lower resolution, the print is not so sharp.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I want to print a 'List' of addresses from Address Book as I do quite often, is there a way to permanantly set the 'Paper Size' to A4 instead of it defaulting to US Letter all the time? Its really annoying when you forget to change it when printing a list in a hurry! On this, Address Book 'Help' is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

When I print out web documents on Safari, it only lets me do it in US Letter format, and I lose the top of the pages.
How can I change the print-out format to A4 (which works fine on the print menu for every other program I use)?
US Letter is the only paper choice on the Safari print-out menu

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HP C4480 All-In-One printer. Scanning works, but when I try to print, it gives me a "Paper Size Mismatch" error.
I have chosen different paper sizes (A4, etc), tried different OSes, and
tried different sized paper. Sometimes the printer works, but rarely.
This was not always the case. The printer is only about 6 months old with my macbook, and began having this problem 2 months ago. The ink is brand new, and there's paper.
The problem might be that the paper size sensor is dirty or broken, and I read somewhere that I can physicall disable/remove
this.. or maybe in the software.
I am using R1900 with my macbook pro (easy print) and I cannot figure out how to set a custom paper size. My paper is A3, but the picture I want to print should only print 21 cm x 30 cm.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to select a default printer/print size that is not in the default print size list that OSX offers for "Any Printers" or in the Print Center.
Its just we're trying to run a kiosk on a touch screen iMac that needs to produce a receipt from a small receipt printer that doesn't use a standard print size.
So therefore I need to have OSX set to print to this non-standard size every time it boots up.
Are there any pref files I need to change? Or can I do this through the GUI?
I have three printers and all loaded with different sized paper, A4, A3 and A5. How can i set the default paper size on each one so that i only have to select that particular printer and the OS would know what size paper it should be printing on?
I have a HP 7000 loaded with A3, 6500 loaded with A4 and and B110 loaded with A5. In print and fax, the default paper size is global across all three printers and I have to change it every time. I want to be able to tell the printer or OS what I want to do with each printer and tell it what type of paer is loaded and then each time I selct that printer it would know what to do?

How can I purge my print settings via .plist or other so I can change my paper size? No matter what I select, preview application 'refreshes' my print values to a fixed 8.5x11 that applies a second border to my pdf and pushes everything down the page. Borderless 8.5x11 just won't stay as the value even though my printer has done this before. Worked fine prior, but now it just will not take a new page size.

After adjusting the paper size or fit to page in word or excel, the printing document often became blank even if it shows normally in preview.

Im going to be purchasing a 13" Macbook Pro but coming from using a PC my whole life I have a few questions:
Firstly would you recommend iWork or Office? And can iWork read and edit work documents?
Secondly, If I am creating a Word document on my Mac and then send it to someone that is using Office on a PC will the formatting etc be the same? Im thinking of the scenario if I am filling out a job application form and then send it to the employer I don't want the formatting to be messed up since that would preclude me from getting an interview most likely. Also, are there any other compatibility issues I should be aware of with sending things between Mac and PC? I know if these will be problematic I can always install Windows 7 via Bootcamp, but id rather they were do-able on OSX.
In my home folder I have copied a folder from my external hard drive, this folder I can navigate to no problem
so in that folder I have created another folder called 2010 in that folder is another called Germany 2010, I would like to save a Excel Doc in there, but when I press save as on the Document it does not give me the option to save to this folder and I cannot navigate to it, So how can I save as in a folder of my choice.
I scanned some documents with my printer/scanner and don't want to have to rescan every time. I made them too big, they are 20+ megs, and I know with JPEGs one can just "flatten" the file. Can that be done with scanned docs too? If so, how? Do I need a special app for that? I have Preview and iPhoto, plus the MS Office package for the Mac.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my laptop to Lion. Now I can't access any of my Word Documents. I 'got' around that by opening them up in 'pages'. HOWEVER, I can't access my emergency records organizer (where I keep all my bank account info, IDs and passwords, etc.) Is there a new application in Lion that allows me to to store this data? I'm not real happy with Lion right now, because half of my life/documennts were Word documents that can no longer be opened-unless I want to open EVERY last one of no fewer than 1,000 Word docs in 'pages.' Not only did I pay to upgrade to Lion, but I'll have to pay for another version of Word. Macintosh is on my___list right now.
