Applications :: IMovie Still Photos, Multiple Photos Become 1 Clip...
Jun 4, 2005Okay, I was working with iMovie and did something cool...but I don't know how I did it or how to repeat what I did.
I managed to make one "clip" which consists of 6 or 7 photos (imported from iPhoto)...and on top of (inside of?) that clip is the "far far away" title (the Star Wars one). I tried to do the same thing again, and couldn't figure out how I did it in the first place! Oops. Any clues would be great (I tried highlighting several pics and dragging them down to the timeline together...didn't work. I also tried a few other things, but no luck).

Jul 25, 2010I cannot select more than one photo because only one (very large) photo appears in the window where I normally select them. The slide bar (bottom right) is not the problem as it is set on the smallest photo size setting.

Oct 27, 2009I need to be able to access several different email accounts at any particular moment in the day. I need to know when new mail comes in, I need to be able to reply from each account separately. Fairly straightforward really eh?
I dont particularly get on with Apple Mail. I find it crashes fairly frequently and really struggles when I am out and about using the mobile dongle.

Apr 6, 2010I have multiple email addresses that are all being forwarded to my MobileMe account. I have SMTP addresses set up for each of these accounts set up in Mail.app. Everything is working fine, but there is one thing that bothers me I was hoping I could fix.
When I reply to email that was sent to one of my other accounts, it still defaults to the MobileMe SMTP server for sending the reply. I know I can select the correct SMTP server in the drop down list, but is there any way to get Mail.app to do this automatically?

Sep 15, 2010Im having trouble getting 2 exchange accounts working using osx`s Mail app. When I install one account, it works fine. When i install 2, they both stop working.
They will both send but not recieve mail. Both accounts are on the same Exchange 2007 server.
I find it strange that Mail under iOS 4 works better than under OSX (10.6.4)

Nov 24, 2008I'm new mac fan who has bought a macbook pro and thrown BG & MS out of my life, almost. The transition has been a little tough. I am finding some Mac things so easy. And other so hard. Apple Mail is giving me fits. In outlook express, I have 3 email accounts for various levels of privacy. All using verizon's outgoing mail server to send email. So, same username, pw & settings & outgoing Pop are the same on all 3 accounts. No problem in Outlook Express.
Mail says you cannot have the same username & pw& pop in 2 separate accounts whether it is outgoing or incoming pops/servers. On 2 accounts I have started using their own pop to send mail out. I still cannot get 1 account to email out. For 2 accounts I use onlymyemail to filter spam and then I download it from their incoming pop. So, these 2 accounts must have the same username and password and pop to download the filtered email. It seems like this whole thing is reversed. This should be a MS problem, and Mail should allow the same usname & pw on all accounts.

Nov 11, 2009I installed the 10.6.2 2 days ago, shut down the computer, and let it rest overnight. When I booted, I had no immediate problems. Then that whole mobileme outage thing occured. No biggie, everything functioned fine. After the outage, I had booted Mail to find that only my mobileme account was added. I tried a mail/accounts sync, but nothing happened. I re-added each other account (gmail and college) with no problems, even all the mail was still stored that had been downloaded.
Now I'm finding some little tweaks are off. My "unread messages are bold" was unticked, despite never having altered these settings. Signatures for the accounts were 50/50, with some being removed and some remaining. Anyone else experiencing weird things like this since the combo of the 10.6.2 update and mobileme? The only additional change that happened on my computer was installing Parallels 5 upgrade.

Oct 31, 2009I have one IMAP email account and setup various email aliases. I used for each alias also a sender name. I tried to setup different sender email addresses and names in Apple Mail but did not succeed.
I was only able to add a comma separate list o email addresses to one account but not different sender names for each email address.
BTW, I also can't setup different accounts for each email address because they share the same IMAP Mail Server with the same account username and password.

Aug 24, 2014I have mulitple photo folders and multiple storage sites, icloud, iphone and windows cpu. They all have the same photo folders but there are alot of duplicates. I'd just like to clean this up and merge them illiminate duplicates and have one folder. With the new appeture i can search by years and places so this will work. Just not sure how to go about without screwing this up. Do i do this on the CPU or iCloud. how exactly?Â

Nov 30, 2014it seems in aperture I can only "undo" the last 10 effects (b&w effects) . I have converted my colour to B&W on all 44 photos but only seem to be able to "undo" in 10..is there a setting to increase the number of "undo" available?

Jan 19, 2010Until have till now just used fileflow to send pictures, cause when attaching them to mail - it just seems to stick into the mail- and hard to get out for pc users - And if they manage - the filesize seems to have been scaled down.
pdf - ai - psd etc works perfect as attachments. but jpg - no !
also when i try to show the icon - i get claims from my recipients...
Does anyone have a smart advice for me to get full scale jpgs as full readable attachements, no matter who recieves it ?

I have a small company with 5 employees who need to access their website e-mail using IMAP on a single iMac. We've been using the Horde web client which is horrendously slow and ugly. I would like for each employee to be able to use Mail to login to their e-mail account and then logout once done. This way employees won't be able to read each other's e-mails. I don't want to have different OS X root level login ID's because then my employees won't have access to all the files on the main admin ID.

Sep 11, 2010I use mac mail for my mac account and exchange. In preferences for smtp server I have set "only use this server" for each account, ie mac account sent emails end up in mac sent mail box and exchange sent emails end up in exchange sent items box.
The problem now is that despite the fact that I select an account to send a mail, lets say my exchange account, Mail does not send the mail and return a dialog box where I have to select the exchange smtp server manually. This also happens when I send a mac mail, then I have to choose the mac smtp server to send the mail out.
This is highly annoying because your work gets interrupted by this popping up "cannot send mail using the server Mac" messages! Only after selecting the server the message is sent. If I uncheck 'only use this server' then all mails are sent but with the mac server! So my exchange sent items box remains empty.

Have an emac running 10.4.11 and iPhoto '08 (7.1.5). Moving to a new imac. I'm really only concerned with transferring my iPhoto library and mail - how is this done? I've got an external FW drive enclosure coming. But from that point, with the external drive now connected to the iMac ... is it as simple as dragging the library over to the new iMac (any compatibility issues between OS or iPhoto versions?). And what about mail - is there a need to actually transfer messages over or will they all be downloaded from the server upon first login?

I have 4 x 500MB drives in my Mac Pro and 4 x 500MB external firewire drives.
Currently I use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone each internal drive to it's respective backup. ie Drive 1 > Backup 1, Drive 2 > Backup 2 etc
Is it possible to use Timemachine in a similar way? so that each internal drive has it's own corresponding Timemachine backup?

Feb 8, 2012I sent an e-mail thru mail in Snow Leopard using my MobileMe account to 3 addressees all in the "To" section. After I sent it I checked my sent messages and it only showed that it was sent to the first addressee on the list. Did I do something wrong? Should I have placed two of the addressees in the "CC" section? This is an important e-mail. How can I check to make certain that it went thru to all three recipients?

May 23, 2012why I have multiple 'sent' folders in one of my mail accounts?
As you can see from the screen grab, relating to the 'Skittles' account, there is one 'sent' under Inbox/Skittles, one under 'Sent' and another further down under SKITTLES.
What seems to happen is that any emails sent from my Mac go into one folder, ones from iOS devices go somewhere else, etc.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Mail Downloading Multiple Copies?
May 27, 2012I have noticed that when Mail is downloading my new email, and I look at the "Mail Activity" box in the lower right corner of the application, it seems to be downloading double the mail I am seeing. For instance, if I see 6 new emails, there will be a blue bar and the message "downloading X of 12 messages" as they come in. It doesn't seem to happen with my Mobileme account, just with my IMAP account from GoDaddy. Only the correct number of messages appear visible in my Inbox. I deal with large files on a regular basis, I really don't want my storage to double, and it just seems like something is wrong that should be fixed.Â

Software :: Apple Mail Does Not Load Photos Correctly?
Oct 25, 2009I am Using an Imac with Leopard 10.5.8 and Apple mail version 3.6 and my problem is that mail does not load all the photos correctly. Some photos will get loaded and then half way the Photo is just grey. Sometimes it loads more of one Photo and sometimes less. I have no idea why this happened and even when i download the full image to the desktop it remains half grey.

I switched back to Mac Mail after using Gmail for a while... but I have like 10 email accounts, all their own IMAP setups. I just added them all to my desktop Mac last night.Â
I'd like them (and all mail rules, etc) to also show up on my iPhone and my iPad and my Mac Air. This used to be doable with MobileMe.
Is there any way to do this now? Best I can tell, unless I'm missing something, iCloud only syncs the iCloud mail account itself.Â

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Differentiating Between Multiple Gmail Accounts In Mac Mail
Apr 23, 2012My issue was that my wife and I both have separate Gmail accounts, but when she would use the Mac Mail program on our MBP, when she would send emails, it showed her name, but came from my Gmail account, and when people would respond to her emails, they would come to my email address. The issue is that according to MacMail, you are using the same outgoing Gmail smtp server, so you need to differentiate the two.
Go to Mail > Preferences
In your accounts, click the drop down that has Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), and click "Edit SMTP Server List...". When that window comes up, you'll see two different entries for Gmail, with the same outbound SMTP. Click on them individually, and you'll see the different Gmail account credentials.
Change the description of each (I changed mine to my and my wife's names, to easily identify which SMTP went with which mail account) and ensure that your Gmail credentials are accurate. Click Ok. Now, under each of the Gmail accounts, change the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) drop down to match each of your Gmail accounts, and click the "Use only this server" box.
