Trying to print from my Macbook. When I print one copy it is fine however when I print multiple copies, the Print manager creates each copy as a separate print job and it takes forever!!
View 2 RepliesFirefox has this option on OSX (each frame on separate page), but safari seems to lack such an option. I need to print multiple frames (invoices from zencart) each on separate pages. When I try to print with Safari it will either try and print the selected frame, or it will print all the frames as it's laid out on the page (all printed on one page). Am I missing this option somewhere? Is there an extension I can try (already tried print plus to no avail)?

Since I have installed SL, when I try to print to PDF from the print menu or save a PDF I'm viewing with Preview (for example) from a website, the text of the PDF is completely garbled/scrambled.
I don't have this problem when I use Acrobat 8 Pro only when I am using the OS PDF or saving and/or printing from Preview. I have cleared the font cache, but no solution.
Does anyone have any idea what might be going on in the attached image below? This is how a PDF file exported from InDesign is printing. It is not displaying like this at all on the screen. The frame around the photo is an EPS file layered on top of the photo. It views fine, and prints fine except for 2 photos.
All the photos print fine, except for 2 of them which have these odd triangles on them. The image is a scan of the printed file. Again, it does not appear when I view the PDF on screen, only when it's printed. If I remove the border/EPS, it will print fine. But I'd like to use the border, so I'd like to know what the problem is.
I'm trying to Print a "Phone List" from Entourage address book. I know "phone list" is an option in the drop down box of the print menu but cannot seem to have company name print on phone list. It only shows persons name and phone numbers.

Keynote does it, except it makes them all super small. Powerpoint handles this with no problem. So im totally stomped on this. It seems like the old Keynote did this no problem.
I have a very large image that I want to print full size, but i only have a regular printer with 8.5x11 sheets. Is there an app that will break up the image so I can print it on multiple pages and then tape them together again? I'm having poor luck googling this.

I just got the hp photosmart c7280 all-in-one printer in march, at the same time as my macbook pro. They worked fine together until a coffee spill claimed that computer. Now I have the more recently updated macbook pro and they will not 'talk' to each other. The macbook gets everything ready to print but will not, it says "print job manager failed". How do I get my new computer and new printer to work together?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt seems that every time I open iPhoto, it creates a new folder named "Library recovered Photos 1, ...2, ...3, etc". This folders are filled with unix files with very long names in alphanumeric characters. I first notice this when my HD was getting filled to capacity and I was barely adding any files to it. I found this folders in the Pictures folder (I imagine it's the root level for iPhoto folders and associated files) and went ahead and deleted all 180 GB of them. Got back my HD space and iPhoto works fine without them...but I have noticed that every time iPhoto is opened it creates a new folder with this files in them. None of my other machines have this files created in them. What can be causing this? I've check Preferences and there's no option to turn this on/off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI run Microsoft Office on my MacBook Pro. I routinely "print" Word documents to .pdf files. My conversions to .pdf are now resulting in two .pdf documents rather than one multipage document. For example, a two page Word document about puppies would be converted Puppies and Puppies.2 rather than just one 2-page .pdf file. A 14-page file just also saved as two separate .pdf files; the first was only one page, and the second contained the other 13 pages. This is a new problem as of tonight; I've never previously had any difficulty. It's quite frustrating, and I can't seem to determine the cause.

I'm a complete noob when it comes to Pages (iWork'05), and I'm editing my first newsletter which is supposed to go out to 300 people by e-mail. However, when I export it to pdf, the file size is 22.8mb! For 6 pages!
I've chosen the Extreme newsletter template (red one), and I have 6 pages in total. The only reason I can think of why it's so big is that when i drag and drop photos into the photo-boxes, the image isn't scaled down at all, not even when I export it to pdf. Is that right? It's only about 1 or 2 photos per page, and I have two pages with three small photos and a larger photo at the bottom. Anyone got some insights?
when trying to print to ANY printer whether it be a network printer or a locally attached USB printer. The machine is as stated, an iBook G4. The OS is OS X 10.4.1. The printers involved are a Sharp ARM450n, a Sharp MX 2300 both networked and a Brother hl5150d, connected via USB. All printers show up in the printer dialogue box as installed, all of the latest drivers are installed and when I attempt to print, the system claims it printed, no matter what printer I send the print job to. I just don't get any documents. The print jobs just vanish! I have searched on this forum for a solution, not to mention googling Mac printer issues on the internet. I have searched high and low for a solution with no luck. I've tried stripping out all of the drivers and starting fresh. I've tried resetting the print system, I've tried appletalk/ethertalk, I've tried bonjour, I've tried tcp/ip printing, all to no avail. All of the other computers (an assortment of approximate 35 different Macs can ALL print to the printers with this one exception. The computer is hard wired to the network and can access the internet, I can ping the printers, ping other computers and I can also ping the computer that is having the print issues.

How can I change the print quality when printing photos through iphoto on my iMac? I am running OSX 10.7.2 I have installed my printer with the latest downloaded drivers etc. The printer is a HP photosmart 5510. I have gone into system preferences, then print and scan. From here I can see my printer but can't see anyway of changing the print quality. Similarly, if I go into print settings via iPhoto I have the same problem. I have been able to change the quality in Safari but can't see how to create a default setting for photo printing at the highest quality

I have a pdf that I must print to buy a home. It will not print as is. I shot screen shots, brought them into Photoshop, made them jpgs and adjusted the gamma to make them very black and white. Â
It helped but the pages cannot be read. There is plenty of ink in the printer.Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble getting envelopes to print properly from Address Book in Lion. I have specified size #10 envelopes. When I print them, the text printed on successive envelopes moves further and further down the page until the address drops off of one envelope and is then printed at the top of the next envelope. If I print to PDF, I see the same behavior. I have an HP Photosmart Premium printer. I didn't have this problem before I upgraded to Lion, and all my settings are the same as they were prior to the upgrade. I have seen that other users have the same problem on the forums, but there isn't a clear cut answer to how to solve the problem anywhere. I also tried using the easy envelopes widget, and I still have the creeping further down the envelope problem.

I have a panorama picture that I would like to print out. The print menu lets you put multiple pictures on one page but not one picture across multiple pages. I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this without manually cropping the picture up into one page pieces.

I've tried 3 different network printers (2 windows printers, 1 direct IP printer) using 3 different MacBooks. All running 10.5.1. It'll print 1 copy just fine, but that's it. If you want multiple copies you have to keep sending it to the printer, which is a pain.
Can anybody try printing 2 or more copies with a local printer and see if that works? I think I may have found my first truly annoying Leopard bug

I often do this to conserve paper when I'm printing lecture notes. With Leopard, I'm often doing this blind and get things out of order. Has anyone got this to work? I seem to think that one of programs--either preview or Acrobat--provided this functionality in Tiger.

I have an iMac 27 (end of year 2009) I5.It has 1 TB internal and I want to replace it with a 2 TB internal. I have time machine backups on an external hard drive that has been connected via Firewire. I have another iMac (my son's)Imac 24 Intel Core 2 Duo that has it's own separate Time machine backup to it's own separate firewire connected external drive.Both machines are completely up to date with the latest version of Lion and all other necessary software updates.When the internal hardrive is replaced - I want to use my latest time machine backup to create one profile on the imac and then use my son's latest time machine back up for a second profile.The end goal being to have everything from my current set up ie: apps, documents, itunes, etc existing in one profile and everything in my son's current set up existing in the other profile.We can both be administrators for the time being as well.I should note even though we both have some of the same apps, we both also have other apps that the other does not.
My profile will be using about 900 gigs of total space.My son's profile will be using about 250 gigs of total space.This is temporary until the new iMac is released.Then I will want to transfer my profile to that leaving my son's intact on the iMac 27 I5.I realize that during the temporary period that Time Machine will be making backups of this entire two profile setup, which I am now understanding as I write this will create a new issue for me when I want to transfer only my profile to the new computer as well.But one bridge to cross at a time, I guess.I need to do this because we must bring his current computer to my father - as his iMac G5 is inoperable. We have been doing this round robin hand me down in our family since IMac DV special edition :-)

View 2 Replies View RelatedThought I'd start this thread for people to discover/add any info they have on what iPhoto Faces is doing behind the scenes to help with troubleshooting, since Apple doesn't have any preferences for Faces in the iPhoto GUI. This is only for people who like to understand what is happening behind the scenes. Please note this is not for everyone and anytime you do anything to your iPhoto library you risk corruption and should have a backup copy. What I've noticed so far:
- iPhoto scans the library the first time it opens, and creates 2 faces .db files with the iPhoto Library:
face_blob.db
face.db
- iPhoto creates Faces thumbnails files and places them in the iPhoto Library/Data folder along with the other thumbnails it creates................

In systems prior to "lion" when I wanted to select and print multiple different imagews per page, I could select the number I desired in "copies per page". Now when I select a number in "Copies per page", I get that number of a single image instead of 1 of each each different image.
