Whenever I print a mailing envelope in Lion's Address Book, it prints fine but then prints a blank page following. How can I stop this?

For years I had no trouble printing envelopes straight from Address book. But since I upgraded to Lion, when I print an envelope, it prints (1) the envelope just fine, but then also (2) a blank 8.5"x11" page. How do I get it to stop printing the extra page?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to Lion I have an extra page printing with every print job on my Optra E310 laser printer with cropped off USERID = "xxx", HOST ID = "xxx" and @PJL JOB NAME = "xxx". It seems to happen mainly in Apple applications, i.e. Mail, but has also happened in Acrobat Pro X. Admittedly, it's an old printer but according to Apple and Lexmark it is supported in Lion. I've tried every setting available but can't seem to eradicate the problem. Lexmark support, who were extremely unhelpful, kicked it straight back to Apple.

I have a problem using my Lexmarkt T620 printer with OS Lion.It prints everything as I want. But it adds at every printed job an additional page with only a few words on it and including information about the printed file. Something like ERID.I've never seen anything like this and I don't want to waste more paper when printing with my Lexmark.

In Safari, I am no longer able to print web .pdf documents. The print screen pops up, however the preview document shows a blank page. I am able to print in Firefox, so this has to be a Safari problem. I have checked my Internet Plug In files and there is no Adobe plug in as suggested by others in similar questions. Turning on/off the computer has not helped either. Nor has Open PDF in Preview. I'm using an iMac with Lion and an HP Photosmart C4700 printer.

How do I stop a mail merge from Address Book to Pages from throwing a new page for each entry?I've got a row of 'first name: second name... etc, etc, and just want a single page with all the address book group on it.But the merge makes each name and address on a new page.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble getting envelopes to print properly from Address Book in Lion. I have specified size #10 envelopes. When I print them, the text printed on successive envelopes moves further and further down the page until the address drops off of one envelope and is then printed at the top of the next envelope. If I print to PDF, I see the same behavior. I have an HP Photosmart Premium printer. I didn't have this problem before I upgraded to Lion, and all my settings are the same as they were prior to the upgrade. I have seen that other users have the same problem on the forums, but there isn't a clear cut answer to how to solve the problem anywhere. I also tried using the easy envelopes widget, and I still have the creeping further down the envelope problem.

Apple did not have anything for this model listed under the popup menu selection "Select Printer Software". The driver for printer was written for classic so I can't install it from the CD.Â
Everything prints, but an extra page is also printed with the following message:Â

how can I print my address book

i have mac OS x 10.4.2 with iproof power rip x 7.19
using Epson Stylus Photo 1290
when i print more the 2 pages after each page the printer take out 2 blank page and than stops (i have to press its bottom to make it pull the next paper)
if i don't press the bottom or sometime in a middle of the printing page i get an error "the process usb stopped unexpectedly with status 81"
after a while the printer stops and i have to make it start again
My Safari homepage is blank. Bookmarks and toolbar are there but my Earthlink page and address bar are blank. The Safari version is 3.1.2 and the OSX is 10.4.11 My Internet Explorer (which I rarely use) and Firefox are working fine.

Does anybody know how to print address labels from a group in the address book.
I know you can create templates pages for avery labels ect but it will only allow you to print the name rather than select a "nick name"
Any new ideas? I have started to dabble in the apple scripting side of this issues so I am open to suggestions... really anything saves having to write out 3000 addresses.
The printing area is smaller than the page I want to print, 3 or 4 columns are on an other page to the right of the print area that I can print, I am not great on excel but would like to move the printing area so it can take all of it.

I opened Address Book to find it blank - All my contacts were gone. If I search Spotlight my contacts still appear by name but when I hover the mouse I don't see the path, just the contact name and number. If I click on the contact from spotlight - Address Book opens...blank. This wouldn't be a total loss as I have all my contacts written down. But I can't add contacts back to Address Book - I tick the add button and nothing. The add contact button is untickable. I already repaired disk permissions. It does appear that my contacts are in the metadata folder. I deleted the AddressBook-v22.abcddb file and opened Address Book but it was still blank and I still could not add my contacts back. I noticed that the file did rebuild itself. I restarted and still nothing changed.
There is a second file, AddressBook-v22~.abcddb, I deleted that as well and it did not rebuild itself and had no effect. I did make a copy of the complete folder. I can only think of a few things I've done since I last checked Address Book, but I don't see how it would create this problem
- Deleted my windows partition through bootcamp
- RTan disk permissions for the first time
- Had my contacts placed on my ipod
I don't think there was anything else. Oh, yes - I purged my computer of all hidden google related files. I had already done this before but it turned out there were more more more. I did Not have my contacts synced with a google account nor do I do any syncing with any mobile devices/clouds at all. In the guest account I also could not add a contact. The same problem with my, admin, account. So it appears to be system wide. Import is not an available option, its grayed out. As is just about everything else.
It appears that one can only print name or company name, not both, in address book mailing label.

I produce a very nice letter and print it. Then, I want to print an envelope. In WordPerfect, you go to format > envelope > and an envelope with the addresses is formatted. I couldn't find anything like it in iPages. So, how do you format an envelope in iPages?

Does the apple address book app print contacts/address labels. What I am trying to do is print out my contacts names/addresses onto the precut address stickers for our wedding/save the date invitations (no calligrapher for us lol). Every time my co-worker exports a group vCard for me to import into my address book, a note is added (in the notes field) to each vCard which begins "Categories:..." followed by a list of Address Book Groups which that card belonged to on his Mac. How do we STOP address book from appending this note every time he exports a group vCard - it's hard for me to individually delete this text from every card that I import (I do NOT want or need this "Categories" information in the notes of my address book cards). I wish iCloud was an option for us right now, but since I cannot upgrade my computer right now, it is not.

how to specify which of several email addresses should be used for a member of a group. It starts by selecting the menu item "Edit > Edit Distribution List." From there it explains how to select the desired address for a specific person. All well and good...Â

Try as I might, doing various combinations of name or group selections in the address book window, I cannot seem to get the "Edit Distributuion List" item to be un-greyed. Effectively, the program is not allowing me to do the edit function I need to do on this one group member.Â
Am I missing the secret handshake in this process? Why should it be this hard to do this simple function?Â
Which raises the larger question of "What did Apple do to the Address Book application in general?" This issue is only the tip of my iceberg. The whole app seems to be harder to use than before.Â

I must be missing something very obvious, but I can't seem to set Address Book to add all new contact info as "Work" entries. I have to edit every new entry and change all the fields from "other" to "work." This appears to happen when I "grab" phone or email info from an email message.
