My apple Mac connected to my TV via AV adapter always cuts out after 5 or 6 minutes. Its like the screen saver kicks in and stops the music. I have turned all these possible causes off and it still happens.

The audio on my macbook pro cuts out after a few minutes. It sounds like all the low end is removed. I still hear audio but it is MUCH lower and sounds filtered. I can barely hear it maxed out. Nothing attached (no external drives, no speakers, etc) and it's only a few days old.

I have a fairly new 17" Unibody MacBook Pro, and recently my AirPort signal cuts off after about 30 minutes. I could just be on Facebook, and I will loose the signal after 30 minutes, and then I got to reselect my network. It becomes very annoying if when I try uploading videos to YouTube, having to start uploading all over about 3 times. I took it to the Genius Bar on Saturday, and they couldn't diagnose the problem, and they said they have to send it out to depot, but i can't afford being without my machine till June. I've tried restoring the default settings on my AirPort base station, but that didn't effect the problem. Could there be a problem with the AirPort card in my machine?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a 1TB Time capsule, I would like to attach a USB drive to the Time Capsule and transfer my iTunes Library to it so I can run itunes from wifi. I am new to network stuff. My current iTunes library is on a USB drive velcro'd to the back of my Macbook - rather inconvenient, the USB port is loose. The music files are external but the library files with ratings/play counts are in the iTunes folder.

I re-installed my Music according to Apple's instructions, but that didn't resolve the problem. Some songs are getting cut off at around the 3:00 mark, and when they do, iTunes doesn't proceed to the next song. I'm operating Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 on a brand new iMac and have never had this problem before.

So I just purchase an album from iTune for the first time. And 3/10 songs cuts off early and play the next track without fully complete the current song being played. How do I fix this?? So i can make an imac function as an external monitor by using a display port to display port cable. i would like to know if the usb ports on the imac will also function for a connected laptop? The girlfriend and I are consolidating machines and want to try a software based approach instead of a plug and swap approach. My goal is to have only a Desktop + iPad and she have her MacBook. The issue is that we also want to keep it limited to one monitor, etc. on the desk but she is in grad school and will have need for the larger screen and keyboard. My question is can I set up her laptop to use a Mobile Account and assuming she logs off on that before going onto the Server, can she then log in to the Server desktop and use that Mobile Account locally there? So sometimes use the Mobile Account on the laptop, Sometimes on the Desktop. From my days managing a small network, this seems plausible but could also be fraught with problems.

Audiobooks no longer play on any device that I have: ipods, MacBook, iphone... The first 5 minutes or so play and then the track completely stops. The behaviour is slightly different on different devices. On the MacBook, an audiobook plays for around 5 minutes and then skips on to the next book.
On the iPods, an audiobook plays for around 5 minutes and then just stops. On the iPhone the volume stops after around 5 mins though the track keeps playing forwards. This must be a problem with the iTunes 10.6.3 software?

If I upgrade to iTunes Match - would that mean I can then delete files on my computer in my iTunes library and still access them later?
Brand new convert to Mac here: After receiving an iPod Touch from my boss when he upgraded to an iPhone, I have fallen in love with the Mac hardware and OS. I just got a new macbook and would like to transfer my iTunes from my old PC laptop. I am also a neophyte to iTunes so forgive me if there is a very simplistic answer to this issue.
The physical music is located on my external drive connected to the PC with the iTunes original music locations pointed to it . My specific question is, if I backup iTunes, restore to the Mac, plug in the external drive to the Mac, will it work seamlessly? I'm not sure if the existing iTunes music locations will re-synch since the music locations on the laptop iTunes are mapped to the "G:" drive. If it won't work that way, what do you recommend as the best way to go about it? I want to make sure I don't waste as much time as when I initially set up my iTunes/iPod touch (simply stuck in "PC" mindset).

The only non Apple product/software in the mix is Norton for Mac on the Mac Book and the iMac however I have turned off the Firewall on that as well as experimented with turning on and off the Mac Firewall I have a older router from my ISP however the Apple TV is working fine so I *think* that has been elminated

my macbook pro has started to just cut out randomly. I have had this with an expanding battery and haven't had the money to replace it yet, but I don't know if this is part of the issue. When my computer cuts out, it is as though the power cable has been pulled out and the whole system just shuts off in an instant. I know that the power cable has definitely not come out, though.

Since updating to 10.6.2 my wireless signal will stop working after about five minutes, the only fix is to turn off my wireless connection then back on again and its fine. I'm on a Mac Pro, the Mrs has a Macbook with 10.5 and she gets no hassle at all so I'm pretty sure its not the router.

It started a few months ago with random restarts, which I thought were caused by a bad hard drive, but it turns out permissions errors, stacked up over the years, really can bork your computer. I replaced the hard drive (didn't mind opening her up, since she's well out of warranty), but the problem kept occuring - only with the screen going dark randomly. I thought the new hard drive was dying, too. But here's how it's been going down lately. About twice a day, the screen will go black. Not just the backlight; it's as though the display has been turned off. I can't wake it from the display sleep, but it's not for lack of hitting the space bar repeatedly. Keyboard backlight stays on for a second, and then goes dark, at which point, I'll force a shutdown and try to restart. All of which is messing with my data; I've been doing a permissions repair pretty much daily now, and there's loads of 'em to repair. I noticed today, when it happened earlier, that my hard drive is still spinning, and USB peripherals retain their power. So what is causing my display to cut out like this, and how do I keep it from happening again (at least this frequently) until I can afford a new MacBook?

I've got the most recent updates on both iTunes and iphone. iTunes works fine on its own, but just gives me the spinning ball whenever I connect my iphone.
