I have a 14 minute audio track from my novel and wish to edit it down to 5-7 minutes. I can do this in FCP but wondering if I can do it in iTunes?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a MacBook Pro 2GHz Intel Core Duo, running OSX 10.6.4 and the latest iTunes. I used to burn audio CDs just fine and now it gives me error messages.
The first error was a "Medium write error." The second error said, "The attempt to burn a disc failed. The disc can't be burned; it might be incompatible with this disc drive. Please try a different brand of disc or try burning at a slower speed."
I've tried two discs: TDK and Mitsubishi. Both don't work. It starts initializing and then immediately jumps to finishing, then ejects the disc with that message. I updated to the most recent version of iTunes and I still get the same problem.
I've purchased some iTunes songs that I need to play at a funeral. The downloads came as mpeg4 files, which when I burned to a CD play only if they go through a computer with iTunes. I need to get the songs to play through the sound system of the church, which they requested as a CD format. How do I get my mpeg4 files to play on a regular CD player?

Just noticed this by accident. By default one type opens with iTunes and the other with Quicktime. Can anyone explain what the difference is between file types and why this occurs in the first place?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe audio on my macbook pro cuts out after a few minutes. It sounds like all the low end is removed. I still hear audio but it is MUCH lower and sounds filtered. I can barely hear it maxed out. Nothing attached (no external drives, no speakers, etc) and it's only a few days old.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running the latest version of OS X Lion on a MacBook Pro purchased in late 2011. It has all of the current updates from Apple. I can start or receive FaceTime calls with no problem. I have tried calls with three different friends, incoming and initiating. These friends have used a variety of devices on their end: Another MacBook Pro, iPhone 4s running iOS5, and iPads running iOS5. In all cases, about five minutes or so into the conversation, I can no longer hear them but they can still hear me. Video continues smoothly in all cases. I can disconnect that call and re-establish a call to that same user's device with my iPhone 4 or my iPad (both running iOS5) and run FaceTime without dropping the audio in either direction no matter how long we talk. Due to the variety of devices tested, the problem seems to be narrowed down to the incoming audio in my FaceTime on my MacBook Pro dropping off after five minutes. DVD movies play without a problem, as does Netflix streaming shows. No loss of incoming audio there. Also, when the FaceTime incoming audio drops off, other sounds such as system sounds continue to work normally.
There are a variety of messages on the internet about someone losing their outgoing audio after five minutes but still able to hear the other party. However, I could find nothing on the net about losing the incoming audio only.

I recently purchased a Macbook 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. I've tried to burn audio cd's from mp3 in Itunes to use in my car but when I try them in the car cd player they don't work. But they work on my mac. I used to be able to do this on my old mac mini with no problems. I'm running the latest version of OS X.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI edited a video in FCP and exported it as a quicktime. The resulting file is a little over an hour, about 13gb in size, and has 14 chapters. The quicktime movie plays perfectly. When I build the DVD in iDVD it works perfectly. However, once it's burned I lose the audio in the middle of the 13th chapter until the end. I've deleted preferences, re-exported the quicktime, created new DVD projects, used an older template (I'm now using a version 7 template).... I'm not sure what's going on!

I was trying to sum that title up as best as I could. I'm looking for an audio program that will allow me to take one long audio track, separate it by markers (or something), and export/burn to CD (each marker would represent an individual track). The Wavelab program has this feature, but Wavelab is PC based so I can't use it =( Anyone know of anything?

I am not a newbie to computers so I am aware that temporary files (swap files) are par for the course. I also realize that when dealing with larger files (video, for example) swap files tend to grow larger. But I can't reconcile going from over 200 gb of available space to showing literally 0 bytes available in less than a half an hour. Granted, I am exporting a video from iMovie (about 2 hours) but to loose over 200 gb of available hard drive space to a swap file doesn't seem right. Is this really my swap file or is something else possibily going on here?

I have to burn a movie for a project, the .MOV file is 696MB, and the AVI file is 701MB.
I drop the files into iDVD, and it turns into 6GBs for some reason! Why is that? Is there any way at all to burn these to a DVD that I can watch on a regular DVD player?
I have got a .iso file (Window's vista) and do I just drag and drop the .iso file or do I open it and drop the contents of the file into the unwritten CD?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI updated my circa 2013 Macbook Air 13" to OSX Mavericks and a strange issue has started. Every time I open Finder it takes literal minutes to load the file listing, and while it loads it freezes the section where the file listing loads with whatever background it was opened over. This happens all the time, and once it finally loads, it will do the same thing if I try to go to a different folder. This renders Finder essentially useless and I have had to add a third party (forklift) app to browse and manage files.
