Dec 10, 2010I just updated my mozilla firefox to the new version and it deleted all of my bookmarks. I didn't think it was a big deal because I could just re add them. When I restarted the application after re adding all of them they just deleted again. I deleted firefox and re downloaded it but it still keeps deleting my bookmarks when I restart it.

Apr 23, 2012I don't like Firefox 11 one bit and am yearning for 3.6. I read online to drag firefox 11 to trash and that, of course did nothing to actually uninstall. I then dowloaded 3.6 and 'installed' that, restarted but still firefox 11 lives on in my computer.

OS X :: Downloaded Firefox But Can't Find Now To Install
Jun 12, 2009I am a new Mac user (well, came back after an 8 year absence) and am trying to install Firefox but I can't find the download anywhere so I can actually install it! This is what I did.
1) I clicked the download Firefox for Mac button at the Mozilla website.
2) I saw the little grey box at the top of my Safari browser telling me that the download was complete, but now I can't find what I downloaded from Firefox anywhere!
3) Of course I checked the Download folder, the Desktop, Applications, and did a search in the Finder for it and it seems to have disappeared. And of course I have tried downloading it several times.
4) Last night when I first attempted to download Firefox, there was a little window somewhere with what appeared to be the download, but it said something about it not being there because I moved it. Well, I didn't move anything anywhere.

May 28, 2012My Firefox asked if I wanted to install updated system plug-ins. I closed the browser, drug the install to my Applications folder, and now there's a copy in there as well as a Firefox ejectable icon on my desktop. I don't know where to go from here.

Jul 7, 2009I've been in and out of these forums since last December. I bought my first MacBook and I couldn't be happier. Best computer ever! I am never going back to PC, and I'm trying to convert the rest of my family. I am starting with the most difficult hill to climb first, my father. He just barely learned how to download music and burn CDs this year. My mom just needs to send emails and pay bills online. So for fathers day, I bought my dad a used show white iMac G3. I can't believe how fast it is. He thought it came from space, but was excited. He's not tech savvy in any way, but he is trying and is slowly learning. I'm trying to get it as close to what he's use to, and there is the problem. He knows what FireFox looks and feels like, but I cannot install it. I download the program, "install" it, but I can't load it up. I click on the icon and it bounces up and down in the dock and then fades away. Its like the feeling you get when your car is about to start and dies down. I have no idea what to do. I'm only 7+ months into Mac's, so I could be missing something simple...maybe? I've check the permissions on firefox and allowed everyone to read/write but nothing I can think of anything else. Also, I've been searching and searching for this one, but I have no idea how to word it and I'm coming up nothing. Since I can't run firefox, I'm teaching the old man to use safari. He could eventually learn it, but even I prefer firefox. That's another story for another time. Any ways, the problem with Safari on his G3, even after every possible update (I think), every layout on every page is totally off. When I click on Safari and the apple home page comes up, some icons are cut in half, the bottom bar with the list of links is towards the middle, and side bars are just messed up. Pages like craigslist come up with a harsh fully aligned left layout. Other pages have words stacked on other words so its impossible to make out whats going on. My mom was going crazy because she couldn't figure out how to log out of her bank account (kinda funny). I've tried Displays on the iMac, I've tried View on Safari, messing with text size, ect, nothing has helped me. I don't know what to do here either.

Jan 26, 2009I've had a lot of problems in the past with the generic OS X Mail app. I've been unable to send, or receive, or both. I've tried just about every combination of ports, settings, etc., suggested to me on the Apple Discussions site. But all to no avail. So, I've finally ditched OS X Mail and installed Mozilla's Thunderbird. Now, using identical settings to those tried in OS X Mail, I can send, receive, and do just about anything I like. Except. Thunderbird will not import my Address Book! My Address Book is the standard Mac OS X Address Book. I have tried saving v-cards, saving the whole book, etc, but when I try to import to Thunderbird, I just get a bunch of blank v-cards or nothing at all. Step by step guide please. I'm sure this must be both possible and easy. I must just be missing some single vital step.

My objective is to make sure that whenever i restart or boot up the Mac, the Firefox icon would appear automatically on the desktop side bar to enable one to simple click on it to launch the Mozilla browser. Right now every time i restart the Mac i don't see the firefox icon on the side bar and has therefore to go into the HD to find the download and start the application firefox again.

May 11, 2012I have had my macbook pro 13" for 3 weeks. The only significant amount of data storage I have on the computer is 2919 photos in iphoto. The only application I have downloaded is pages. I tried to download Mozilla Firefox because my facebook looked strange in safari. My wall page looked great but all subsequent pages look like I'm viewing them on an older version of blackberry.
Question #1. When I attempted to download firefox, a window stated it was unable because of insufficient disk space. I don't understand how this is possible (please see above).
Question #2. Why does facebook look strange now. I remember it working seamlessly when I first purchased the computer and only noticed the problem today. I log in every couple days.

Jan 30, 2010I am using skillport as a portal to continue my foreign language training through Rosetta Stone. I am using a MBP. Safari can not access the site but mozilla is able to with no problems. My good friend has an imac and his safari will access the site with no issues. I have un-installed safari and re-installed it with updates. I have no clue what is going on. I can continue to use Mozilla but I paid to use my MBP with Safari.

MacBook Pro :: After Clean Install Snow Leopard, Can't Install Bundled Application (ilife)?
Apr 2, 2012This is the first time i reinstalled(clean install) my snow leopard on my MBP. All went fine but then i inserted the disc for bundled application (which contains the ilife apps) but it keeps failing.
It says that "the installation failed. the installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. contact the software manufacturer for assistance".
I've also done my research on this matter. I've gone thru a few steps i tried as below without success:
1)normal install - fail
2)repair permission - fail
3)install in safe mode - fail
4) install using another admin acc - fail
5) made an image out of the disc and install - fail
6) used a similar disc(my dad's since we have identical version) - fai
7)updated my system and install - fail
8) reinstall the mac - fail
i cant think of any other solution as im a bit noob when it comes to mac. is there any other things i could try before taking it Apple?

May 26, 2009I've been trying to install and use BootCamp from Apple, so I can use Visual Basic for my classes. Obviously, I need Windows for this. Anyway, i downloaded BootCamp, installed it, and then Windows XP. After this I was told to insert my OSX disc to get the drivers. Well nothing happened at all. I suppose because this install of Leopard didn't include BC, it was a seperate download.I then read that BC Assistant should give me the option to burn a drivers disc. I looked at the provided screenshots, and right where the button should have been, there was nothing.

Is it possible to buy a new hard drive, put it in an external USB 2.0 enclosure, then install OS X on it using the discs that came with my destroyed MBP in a different Mac, then put the hard drive into the squished computer and have it use that hard drive as its startup disk? The motherboard on the squished computer is fine, I just can't install OS X on it because it has a broken superdrive.
