Safari Is Not Responding When Deleting Cache And History
May 6, 2012Safari not responding when deleting cache and history the app simply freezes and I get a spiral color ball turning. I need to force quite and restart the history is still there and so are the cache files I'm unable to delete them. Dec 15, 2010How do you delete specific search items in your (browser) form history? I don't mean a blanket "clear all", I just want to delete my typos. In Windows, you just need to scroll down to it and hit "delete". Doing that on Mac only erases a character from your search.

Feb 5, 2010I have Foxfire 3.5.7 and I want to make sure that it is being color managed and showing things on the web in sRGB. I did a google search and frequently come up with the steps of:
1. type 'about:config' in the address line
2. then change 'gfx.color_management_enabled' to 'true'
The problem is that I don't have that preference. The closest thing I have is below. And for the value it isn't 'true' or false' but it links to a color profile. Why don't I have that preference from #2? Is my browser color managed currently though?

Applications :: Web Browsers Crashing - Safari / Foxfire Freezes?
Dec 23, 2009Late this morning on my iMac 24" with 10.6.2 it didn't matter whether I was using Safari or Foxfire the would both freeze and I get the maddening beach ball and have to force quit. Any ideas why this would suddenly start happening? I haven't done any thing special to the iMac as far as memory or anything. My laptop isn't doing it, just the iMac.

I Have reset Safari 4.0.3 and it still doesn't delete the history. Applecare can't seem to solve the problem either. Please help, although this isn't a major problem it is very annoying. This was happening before SL and I was hoping SL upgrade may have fixed this but it hasn't.

I've tried just about every combination of ports, settings, etc., suggested to me on the Apple Discussions site. But all to no avail. So, I've finally ditched OS X Mail and installed Mozilla's Thunderbird. Now, using identical settings to those tried in OS X Mail, I can send, receive, and do just about anything I like. Except. Thunderbird will not import my Address Book! My Address Book is the standard Mac OS X Address Book. I have tried saving v-cards, saving the whole book, etc, but when I try to import to Thunderbird, I just get a bunch of blank v-cards or nothing at all. Step by step guide please. I'm sure this must be both possible and easy. I must just be missing some single vital step.

My objective is to make sure that whenever i restart or boot up the Mac, the Firefox icon would appear automatically on the desktop side bar to enable one to simple click on it to launch the Mozilla browser. Right now every time i restart the Mac i don't see the firefox icon on the side bar and has therefore to go into the HD to find the download and start the application firefox again.

May 11, 2012I have had my macbook pro 13" for 3 weeks. The only significant amount of data storage I have on the computer is 2919 photos in iphoto. The only application I have downloaded is pages. I tried to download Mozilla Firefox because my facebook looked strange in safari. My wall page looked great but all subsequent pages look like I'm viewing them on an older version of blackberry.
Question #1. When I attempted to download firefox, a window stated it was unable because of insufficient disk space. I don't understand how this is possible (please see above).
Question #2. Why does facebook look strange now. I remember it working seamlessly when I first purchased the computer and only noticed the problem today. I log in every couple days.

I have FF set to delete history after zero days, and I can "clear private data", but when I start to type in the browser window history pages appear in a drop-down. I unchecked the FF box for storing things I typed in boxes. If I go to "tools" I get > Web search, Downloads, Add on's, error console, page info, clear private data.Preferences is under "firefox" tab.I say all that cause the forums all say look under "tools" for "clear History".It's not there. There is no specific "clear history".The "clear private data" is not clearing out everything, just the stuff in the history viewer, but that is not there anyway as it stores for zero days.
