I have a Mozilla Folder in this location Macintosh HDLibrary<Mozilla is here> and I have un-installed Mozilla Firefox with AppDelete and Global.regs is in the Mozilla folder in my Library can I delete the folder Mozzila?

I'm going to reinstall OS X. But before doing that, I want to delete the files in folders named Library one by one and see what could happen. Will that cause any trouble that will prevent me from reinstalling OS X successfully?

Somehow, when installing RealPlayer I managed to get something called RealNetwork (a Folder full of files) installed in my User Library. It was 395.62 GB so must have been some sort of malware. I was able to find it and delete it from my hard drive. BUT I had backed up my hard drive to a non-bootable backup the day before so that file is still in the invisible Library folder on that drive, taking up almost 400 GB there, too. Â
How to delete it from the backup drive since I can't boot that drive?Â
I'm using Mavericks 10.9 on a MacBookPro with a 2T Seagate backup drive.

I have all my photos in folders, and I guess I must have imported some of them into iPhoto a while back because I just found a 2 GB "iPhoto Library" file. I don't actually use iPhoto at all, so I'd much rather use the 2 GB for something I actually use If I deleted that file, is there a chance I'd lose actual photos? All the photos are still located in the original folders, not any special iPhoto folders.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had a lot of problems in the past with the generic OS X Mail app. I've been unable to send, or receive, or both. I've tried just about every combination of ports, settings, etc., suggested to me on the Apple Discussions site. But all to no avail. So, I've finally ditched OS X Mail and installed Mozilla's Thunderbird. Now, using identical settings to those tried in OS X Mail, I can send, receive, and do just about anything I like. Except. Thunderbird will not import my Address Book! My Address Book is the standard Mac OS X Address Book. I have tried saving v-cards, saving the whole book, etc, but when I try to import to Thunderbird, I just get a bunch of blank v-cards or nothing at all. Step by step guide please. I'm sure this must be both possible and easy. I must just be missing some single vital step.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I'm playing some music from a playlist, and I decide I want to delete it from my entire collection, I can't don't it easily. Deleting it right from the playlist doesn't remove it from my library. I have to go hunt it down in the main "Music" folder which is a pain in the ass, especially with multiple tracks. Is there some way, when looking at a track in a playlist, that I can delete it from my entire library and put it in the Trash?
View 3 Replies View Relatedi have a Western Digital MyBook Studio external hard drive on which i keep my music and media in general. My music alone takes up around 160gb so i needed an external drive.
I've changed the default iTunes Library folder to one in my external drive and have let iTunes organize everything inside it and it all works well... the thing is though that when i launch iTunes and the external HD is not detected (power failure for example, no power for the HD but my macbook pro works fine) it defaults to the folder it had set at first, the Music folder in my Home folder.
Is there any way i can stop it from doing that?
Starting out on iPhoto 09. At the moment all my photos are organised in folders, eg Holiday July 08, New year 07, Childs 4th B_day, Funfair March 05 etc I would like to keep them in this order if possible, and start using iPhoto to tag, and organise them all. Reason I want them still in folders is that I also have a Windows PC, Xbox 360, and want to be able to sort them on here to, which wont have iPhoto's organisation and so need the folder structure.
View 4 Replies View RelatedBasically somehow my iTunes got jacked up.. just the music part of it.. Anyway, they are all songs from my CDs or mp3's, but just as a failsafe, I would like to backup my entire iTunes library to my external hdd.
I would then like to delete all the songs from my iTunes, and from my iPhone. *edit* figure'd out how to remove all the songs from my iphone.. just unchecked all songs and sync'd.. now I just need to backup itunes and delete everything from it, then reput what I want back into itunes and resync.. sweet
After which, I would like to rebuild my iTunes library using my mp3's and CD's and basically start from scratch.. so that this time around I can properly name songs/albums/artwork/etc
Then I want to take this new iTunes library, and fill my iPhone back up with my new Library in Itunes..
so basically I just want to backup my itunes just incase for some reason I cannot find a particular CD or mp3 in my collection.
Just for the record, I am using a Mac Mini running Snow Leopard 10.6.2, and I have an iPhone 3GS 32GB running the latest 3.1.2 firmware (jailbroken using blackra1n rc3)
When I used to delete a song from my iTunes library it would ask me if I wanted to also remove it completely from my computer. Now it no longer does and I cannot find a option to get that back. Can someone tell me where I can get iTunes to do this again?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just updated my mozilla firefox to the new version and it deleted all of my bookmarks. I didn't think it was a big deal because I could just re add them. When I restarted the application after re adding all of them they just deleted again. I deleted firefox and re downloaded it but it still keeps deleting my bookmarks when I restart it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Applications were in an Applications Folder on my HD folder so I decided to move them to what I think is the correct place to have them the Applications Folder that is in my Home Folder.I tried to move it but it wouldnt move directly so I copied it to the Desktop and from the Desktop moved it into the Home Folder Applications Folder. So far so good.I then wanted to delet the original Applications from the HD folder.I can't delete it so now I have duplicate Application Folders and duplicate Applications.how I might delete the origial folder? The Automator application seems phenomenal in theory I just haven't learned all the ins and outs yet, but i see the concept that it was designed for (Jobs = Genius). Long story short I was streaming all of my music over from my PC and it got interrupted twice. I kept streaming to the same folder but it never prompted me to replace existing files of the same name. So I figured it would do it automatically. To my dismay that wasn't the case at all. I now have 9,000 songs and at least 4,000 of which are duplicates/Triplets. I wanted to know if there was some way to streamline the process of deleting and purging all these files out of my Music Folder/Itunes Library, Via the Automator program or any other program you know of.
I am trying to access a website [URL] and in Safari I receive "Safari can't find the server" error message. In mozilla I am able to goto the home page but if I click on any of the links I receive "server not found" error message. I have not run into this problem with any other sites and was wondering why this is happening.

So does anyone know how I can get the preview of these to show up, or even to paste a picture in the box?! View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just transferred to a new machine, I tried simply adding my e-mail accounts in and have had trouble.
So, I'm trying to copy the Mail folder in my user's library on my old machine onto my new machine.
I've placed them in the correct folder, when I open mail it's not loading my old messages.
Any thoughts on why it isn't working? Am I missing something?
EDIT: Aha! Success, I copied my mail.plist file (under Library > Preferences) onto my new machine as well.
I need to reorganize my music folder on my laptop and I need to know if when I move all 7,500 songs into proper folders if I'll be able to get my library back to the state it's currently in without having to redo everything manually. I've gone through a great deal of time (2+years) rating my music and making playlists for specific occasions. So it would be a huge pain to have to redo everything. Also, will it effect my iPod classic or iPod touch if I do this?
View 2 Replies View Relateditunes has decided to go all wierd on me and started playing some of my songs but not playing others. When i try to play one that will not play i get the apple logo on the top of the screen where the amount of time your into the song is normally shown and no matter how many times i press play nothing happens.
Also the songs that won't play all are coming from the same folder and when i delete them and try to add them to the library nothing happens and they aren't added. When i try to play the songs from that folder using a program other than itunes the songs play fine.
I am new to Automator, and even though I have been tinkering around with it for about an hour, I can't seem to create an action.
What I want to do is have Automator automatically take the contents of a specific folder on my hard drive, print the contents of the folder (usually PDFs), then delete the files. I use dropbox, so when I place a pdf into this folder from my laptop on the go, it would be nice to come home to it printed, and no longer in the folder taking up space.
In my Applications Folder I have an alias Applications Folder.When I deleted the alias folder it wiped out all my applications on my hard drive.Does anyone know how I can delete the alias folder without deleting all my Applications?

I never use "User Accounts" on my MacBook. So I don't know much about them.
If I delete one User Account, will it delete that user's libraries, such as their music, movies, documents, etc?
Also, will it delete the programs that were installed under that user's account, but are accessible by all users?
I have manually backed up all my files under User folder without using any of system backup tool(due to technical issue, i have no other option rather than copying manually). I have erased all hard disk and would like to copy everything back to Macintosh. Then the problem is when I tried to copy old Library folder to Macintosh HD user folder, it is saying I need to input password to continue, then I entered password and it still says i don't have permission.

I was helping a friend by reformatting his pc and reinstalling windows because it was slow, when I was downloading the drivers for it on my MacBook Pro (didn't have access to the router since it's downstairs and his pc didn't have a wireless card), it downloaded a folder filled with locked files, it comes several folders deep and all of the files are locked, fun. So I tried to delete it using sudo rm -r, but it says I don't have sufficient privileges, anyone know a command I can use to delete it all? I'd rather not do it by hand, that'd take forever.

A great way to free up some space on my Powerbook g4. Question is, why does iTunes keep changing my library folder after I'd already changed it when I initially set up the hard drive as my iTunes library destination?
Another question is how do I make sure that all my music files automatically go to the folder on the external hard drive when I download music. For example I may snag a free song from a website and will double click it after downloading and it plays in itunes. I want that file to be saved on my external hard drive as well (yes it's plugged up and plugged in).
I only have an 8g ipod so I have to constantly check and uncheck songs that I want to hear, so I want to be sure they are all in the same locale. And one way I know that certain files are on my internal and not external is when i unplug my external those files still play when they shouldn't unless it's plugged up.
I have a hard drive on my 2008 MacPro that's problematic and so I bought a new drive and installed Mavericks on it and am booting just fine on the new drive. There is however, one folder in the Library/Preferences folder that I need to copy over to the new drive. All the tricks for accessing the Library folder work great on the start up drive, but I can't seem to access the Library folder on the old drive (both drives in the MacPro as it has 4 drive bays), even though the drive will mount. How can I see that Library folder on the old drive? Note while I can mount the old drive, I can't boot to it.Â

However I have seen it because after converting samples Logic showed me the folder and its contents. I would very much like to move the samples from their present location in this folder on the startup disk to the EXS 24 samples folder on the external RAID array that is dedicated to this purpose - - but I don't know how to make the Library folder visible.
