I recently upgraded to Leopard. My boss just informed me that my email signature does not show up when he receives mail from me. When I BCC myself, the signature is there. I have done a short experiment with my friends and about 50% don't see my signature.
View 1 RepliesIs there a way to not have it automatically put your signature in email replies by default? I only use signatures when composing new messages and not when replying to emails. I understand you can select "none" from the drop down box manually but is there a setting for this so I don't have to do it each time?

Some, but not all, messages show in the display window as having been sent to the wrong recipient.However, when you click on them, the details shown are correct and they seem to be getting through to the intended address. So it's a display issue of some sort rather than Mail actually sending to the wrong place.Can't find any reference to this issue in Mail Help or online forums.I'm running OSX 10.4.11, Mail 2.1.3.

I've created several signatures in Apple Mail Preferences to be used randomly and to appear beneath the text or image in an outgoing email. I've left the box empty next to "Place signature above quoted text." Process works OK with text, however, when sending a photo, the signature continually appears above the image. Is there some way to have the signature always appear at the end of the email when sending images or photos?

my colleague has set up an email account on his macbook pro 10.7 and when he sends an email out the recipients see the email address as glen with one n rather than glenn. so when people reply they send to something that is not there and get a return to sender. This is strange as the sent address in the settings is glenn not glen. Â
This isn't a server issue as it is on his work imac g5 computer and sends correctly. It must be an error when putting the info in but I can't see where. it is an outlook Exchange mail server and not with our company so i can't look at the settings in that.is there a simple way to sort this out or, if not how can I remove the email account, set it up again but retain the old emails?Â

While I was creating a new signature, Mail locked up on me. After doing a Force Quit, I found that half of my signatures are blank. I'm running Time Machine, but haven't been able to find the location in my directory, so I don't know where to look for when I go back into my backups.Â

Mail no longer adds a signature to a new email after years of working satisfactorily.When I create a new email the default signature does not appear. The Signature button shows 'None.'When I click the button and select 'Edit Signatures' the normal list shows up and I can select the desired signature and the 'Chose Signature' button has the desired signature. I then close the edit signatures window (clicking the red button) although no save dialogue shows up. Then click to start a new email and still no signature and the Signature button has reverted to None again.If I go to Preferences and select the Signatures panel, the 'All Signatures' is alreday highlighted (not my normal business sub group) and the 'Choose Signature' list at the bottom of the panel has reverted to None.

All the other mail products (Outlook, etc) allow easy creation of mail signatures as HTML's by a simple click of a link icon.I cannot find any mention of html signatures in mac mail except for those who know how to write code.If so, whatever happened to Apple being the user friendly platform as opposed to PC's?

When I am copying a signature I create in a mail into the Signatures database, It doesn't seem to save as it was built...sometimes it removes/adds carriage returns. Other times it won't copy the graphics with the text. Is there a way to make sure it stays as I create or edit it?

I''m using Mac Mail for all my mail account (4 of them) and they all work perfectly except for one of my account that is connected through Exchange. The problem is that all the mails are showing my name instead of the sender's name. Every time is switch to another mailbox and comeback to this one (which is my professional mailbox), inbox shows sender's name for 2 minutes, until it refreshes itself. My husband and I both use our one alias iCloud mail accounts. Both the alias and the main account were created in my name (not his) and yet his name appears as the sender and recipient on messages sent and received through the alias. I've rechecked settings in iCloud and his name is not anywhere. Why is this happening and how can I change it so that my name rather than his appears on messages?

I would like to know if apple mail is supposed to sync both signatures and rules across devices.
I recently had to create 3 signatures on 3 separate devices and am now realizing that rules don't carry over from my iMac to my MBA or MBP.Â
if they're not supposed to sync (which makes absolutely no sense) hopefully apple will fix this in yosemite.Â
finally, i will say that, while being a huge apple fan (and would never switch to a pc), i've seen apple mail become one of those neglected softwares and have steadily gone on the decline in terms of features and consistency among devices that are supposed to communicate to one another.

When I email someone, the recipient does not see a "From: ..." line at the top of the email. I have tried to make 'mail'/preferences show the 'From' line, but I must be doing something wrong.I have figured out how to put a signature at the bottom of every email, but people still write saying "why is there no "from" line?"Â

Basically, after the fans rev up to 6200rpm, the rpm stays there and never comes down, even after the computer is sitting idle for awhile. I installed the smc update and am using coolbook to try to avoid core shutdowns. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm going to try replacing the thermal glue tomorrow, to see if that helps, but it seems somehow unrelated to me. I'm using smcfancontrol to monitor the rpm of fans.

In Windows I would press tab in order to switch and highlight the other option and then ht enter to select it. What is the equivalent in OSX? It will be quicker than reaching for the mouse/trackpad sometimes.

I've been a OSX Mail user since the beginning, but I am stumped as to how and why all of my messages now (as of a few days ago) have "recipient list not shown: ;" appearing in the Cc Address Field area once I send them.
It happens even if I get rid of the "Cc Address Field" option in my message being sent.
I did not adjust any of the settings prior to this happening, except maybe download an update for Mail. Not sure...
