MacBook Pro :: Preview Cannot Decrypt Signatures?
Apr 26, 2012My issue is with Preview. The annotate feature used to work fine, but now all of a sudden it cannot decrypt my signature (or anything taken with the iSight camera for that matter). I am running 10.7.3 on a 15'' mid 2010 MacBook Pro.

Nov 15, 2010Is there a way to not have it automatically put your signature in email replies by default? I only use signatures when composing new messages and not when replying to emails. I understand you can select "none" from the drop down box manually but is there a setting for this so I don't have to do it each time?

Nov 9, 2009I've created several signatures in Apple Mail Preferences to be used randomly and to appear beneath the text or image in an outgoing email. I've left the box empty next to "Place signature above quoted text." Process works OK with text, however, when sending a photo, the signature continually appears above the image. Is there some way to have the signature always appear at the end of the email when sending images or photos?

Sep 12, 2014I have several email domains all managed as aliases by gmail (e.g, me@aaa.com and me@bbb.com). Mac Mail appears to allow me only one signature per account. So when I set up Mac mail with multiple email addresses in the address field (me@aaa.com,me@bbb.com) it separates them into "smart" mailboxes nicely, but those mailboxes cannot be associated with a signature as far as I can tell. it is a very common requirement, since many people use google to host multiple domains.

Jun 4, 2012Mail no longer adds a signature to a new email after years of working satisfactorily.When I create a new email the default signature does not appear. The Signature button shows 'None.'When I click the button and select 'Edit Signatures' the normal list shows up and I can select the desired signature and the 'Chose Signature' button has the desired signature. I then close the edit signatures window (clicking the red button) although no save dialogue shows up. Then click to start a new email and still no signature and the Signature button has reverted to None again.If I go to Preferences and select the Signatures panel, the 'All Signatures' is alreday highlighted (not my normal business sub group) and the 'Choose Signature' list at the bottom of the panel has reverted to None.

Jun 25, 2014I would like to know if apple mail is supposed to sync both signatures and rules across devices.
I recently had to create 3 signatures on 3 separate devices and am now realizing that rules don't carry over from my iMac to my MBA or MBP.Â
if they're not supposed to sync (which makes absolutely no sense) hopefully apple will fix this in yosemite.Â
finally, i will say that, while being a huge apple fan (and would never switch to a pc), i've seen apple mail become one of those neglected softwares and have steadily gone on the decline in terms of features and consistency among devices that are supposed to communicate to one another.

Mar 20, 2012I am using the Mail (5.2) app in OS 10.7. I have my Inbox sorted by decending date, i.e. newest mail at the top. When I delete a message, Mail currently selects the message above, i.e. the one that had arrived after the deleted one chronologically. Since I work through my emails from newest to latest (usually), I will already have seen the newer mesage. What I want to see is the next message on the list, i.e. the next one, which arrive before the deleted one. My question there is: How can I advance to the previous message rather than the next one (chronologically) after deleting a message?

Sep 11, 2014When I try to use iMessage on my MacBook, I cannot message anyone. I get the error message that "(phone number) is not registered with iMessage." I can iMessage the same person using my phone, but for some reason it will not work on my computer.Â
I have already tried the logout/re-login fix, and cleared my message folder. Phone and computer are signed into the same account & phone number.

Dec 21, 2008i start up my macbook pro (only about two weeks old, bought from apple store) and the grey screen with the apple logo and a little moving cirle underneath comes on and stays on for VERY long and then a message comes up saying there has been a problem so please restart. it does not say what error. i have tried putting in the hardware diagnostic dvd but that obviousl wont run because it doesn't get past the apple logo before giving me this message. it was working five minute before and:
-there was no new drivers installed,
-i have never opened up the macbook
-no new software installed before it stopped working
-i charged it regularly and the battery was on 90+%

Mar 30, 2009i have a year with a mackbook pro an it's work excelent. recently i leave my laptop doing a rip process, when i came back the screen was 'dirty' (a crazy carachteres forming down lines in the scrreen). I restart it then. but when it's staring, the apple sign apears 'dirty' again, and before that, a message in 4 idioms tell me that i must have restart my machine. I'been doing this several times... and the same happends again and again.
