When I email someone, the recipient does not see a "From: ..." line at the top of the email. I have tried to make 'mail'/preferences show the 'From' line, but I must be doing something wrong.I have figured out how to put a signature at the bottom of every email, but people still write saying "why is there no "from" line?"Â

Suddenly having problems with sending emails via Mail for Mac. Some, but not all, messages show in the display window as having been sent to the wrong recipient.However, when you click on them, the details shown are correct and they seem to be getting through to the intended address. So it's a display issue of some sort rather than Mail actually sending to the wrong place.Can't find any reference to this issue in Mail Help or online forums.I'm running OSX 10.4.11, Mail 2.1.3.

I recently upgraded to Leopard. My boss just informed me that my email signature does not show up when he receives mail from me. When I BCC myself, the signature is there. I have done a short experiment with my friends and about 50% don't see my signature.
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy colleague has set up an email account on his macbook pro 10.7 and when he sends an email out the recipients see the email address as glen with one n rather than glenn. so when people reply they send to something that is not there and get a return to sender. This is strange as the sent address in the settings is glenn not glen. Â
This isn't a server issue as it is on his work imac g5 computer and sends correctly. It must be an error when putting the info in but I can't see where. it is an outlook Exchange mail server and not with our company so i can't look at the settings in that.is there a simple way to sort this out or, if not how can I remove the email account, set it up again but retain the old emails?Â

I''m using Mac Mail for all my mail account (4 of them) and they all work perfectly except for one of my account that is connected through Exchange. The problem is that all the mails are showing my name instead of the sender's name. Every time is switch to another mailbox and comeback to this one (which is my professional mailbox), inbox shows sender's name for 2 minutes, until it refreshes itself. My husband and I both use our one alias iCloud mail accounts. Both the alias and the main account were created in my name (not his) and yet his name appears as the sender and recipient on messages sent and received through the alias. I've rechecked settings in iCloud and his name is not anywhere. Why is this happening and how can I change it so that my name rather than his appears on messages?

I have browsed the forums used the ‘express lane’ through Apple, but to no avail: There is no ‘trash’ can. I have deleted several messages, but I don’t know where they have gone. When I check preferences, the tickbox to send items to the ‘trash’ can is ticked for each mailbox.Â
My work mailbox is successfully incorporated into ‘mail’, inclusive of mailbox subfolders, which are showing in the mailbox pane also. Lovely so far. My problem is that this has not happened for my imported ‘hotmail’ mailbox; my subfolders are not listed for this account.Â

If I paste in text from a word processor, or quote someone else's message, I sometimes find that my text is 1-1/2 spaced or double-spaced. Can line spacing or leading be set or controlled from within a mail message?
I'm sending calendar invites from iOS (MacBook Pro, iPhone 5, iPad Air) to a gmail recipient (also with latest MacBook Pro, iPhone 5, and iPad Air), and he's not receiving a link to add to their iOS calendar. He just receives an email. Am I configured wrong, or is he? When he had an exchange calendar, invites went through smoothly.

I've tried copying and pasting to and from TextEdit which does have a line spacing control but Mail disregards the changes. Despite that Mail sometimes does respect the line spacing of pasted text from some other sources, eg from internet browsers.Â
Being HTML email, there's no guarrenty the recipient will see the same formatting but from Mail —> Mail should be fine yes?

In Windows MS Outlook, while creating a numbered list, I just used shift+enter to enter one or more lines within the same number and then only hit enter once I needed a new number. In this way, I could have many paragraphs within the same number and also blank lines between two numbers. But it doesn't work in Apple mail or Entourage.

This is data and not total capacity. This includes all your on-line data: music, images, video, the OS, all of it. It doesn't include back-up data even if it's on-line like Time Machine tho. Just active data.
And of the on-line storage devices used for that DATA totally, what % are they filled to?
For example if you had two 500 GB drives and about 400 GB of data you would answer:
"I have < 500 GB of DATA on-line." and,"My on-line storage is between 25% and 50% full.".
i'm having some issues recording in garage band which should hopefully be easy to clear up. i record an instrumental track into garage band through the line-in jack in the back. the track shows up in garage band just fine and plays, but i'm running into trouble recording while that track is playing. i plug my headphones in so i can try to hear the track while i am recording vocals, but i am unable to hear the track. i checked the inputs/outputs in system preferences and output is set to headphones, microphone is set to line in. so i'm not too sure what it could be.

I've had this problem since Friday with my Mac Pro (March 2009) and haven't been able to solve it.
On Friday my speakers suddenly stopped working. After first having confirmed that the speakers were working with another source, I tried headphones both in frontal headphone slot and with the analog line out in the back, both without success. There's a red light in the optical audio out, indicating that it's on for some reason, although I have selected different audio out source. The internal speaker works just fine, only the normal audio out doesn't give me anything.
I found a thread in the MBP section similar to this problem, but solutions for MBP didn't work.
I've been a OSX Mail user since the beginning, but I am stumped as to how and why all of my messages now (as of a few days ago) have "recipient list not shown: ;" appearing in the Cc Address Field area once I send them.
It happens even if I get rid of the "Cc Address Field" option in my message being sent.
I did not adjust any of the settings prior to this happening, except maybe download an update for Mail. Not sure...
bcc recipient's address does not appear in sent mailbox. How do I see who I sent a bcc to once I have sent the email?

My line out port on my late 2007 white macbook recently died and I no longer have AppleCare. I never use the line in port on my computer and use the line out quite alot. I have tried all kinds of fixes to fix the problem but nothing works. I would like to use the line in port as a line out port.
