OS X V10.7 Lion :: Epson-scan DX4450 Not Recognized On Mac 10.7.3?
May 15, 2012
I have noticed for few days, that since I have upgraded to OS X 10.7.3 I cannot open my scanner any more. Mac shows a message that says "it cannot open de applications installer because the application PowerPC is not compatible anymore" I have tried to search new drivers on Epson website but they still have the old ones.Is there any way I can scan documents again or I have to change printer. The printer works fine to print documents from any Mac application. It is just the scanner that does not open.
I went to scan photos with new iMac OS X Lion and it says "You can't open the application Epson Scan because Power PC applications are no longer supported." What can I do to support them?
I recently upgraded our iMac OS to 10.7. Now the computer doesn't recognize the Epson Workforce 845 printer. I uninstalled the printer in system preferences. Now what do I do to install the printer again and use it wirelessly?

I have an Epson Stylus CX3810 all in one. I can't figure out how to get it to scan. There is no scan button and when I open Image Capture it tells me there's nothing connected.
Epson Scan.app version 3.8.0 will not open in OSX 10.7.4. I use the scanner Epson Perfection 1640SU. The scanner works with the Image Capture application, but refuses to open the Epson Scan Application. I have tried everything I know to try with no luck.

I got myself an R1900 for Xmas but it will not seem to be recognized by my system. 10.4.11 1.83 GHZ 2 Gb DDR SRAM
The Epson is on a powered hub (with two other hard drives that mount and function onto the Macbook with ease) on approx a 10 ft USB extension to the rear USB ports. I've installed and deinstalled the supplied software several times. It will not add the printer to the printer que. At one point in the install it asks for the USB to be connected - it's then a small animated sequence until it sees the USB cable (which it does ) and then it goes on to a dialog box that that says "Open the Printer List" - that opens nothing, even though the sidebar instructions talk about printers lists and USB dropdowns and such.
Forcing past that gives you "printer not added" and there seems to be no manual way to do so. I've read that restarting the Mac past that point will add it to the printer list (nope), that removing the printers from the list that are in there (only one, a little cheapie HP 3930, which when removed comes back on the restart). At this point, I'm wondering if (a) I backup everything and move to Leopard and start with a clean system or if (b) someone other there see's what's happening and has a good answer I've overlooked.
Has anyone successfully set up scan to smb to mac os 10.7.x from a Konica Minolta bizhub. I'm using 10.7.3 on MacBook Pro. Don't care what model bizhub is being used as I have access to many. I've seen the posts for FTP workarounds but want to use SMB if that is an option.
My Officejet 5610 has stopped Scanning since the latest HP upgrade from Apple last week. I cannot conect with the scanner. I am using Lion on a MacBook Pro.
I have a new HP Photosmart 7510. It is possible to scan, if I use HP Scan 3 or the possibility in the printer and scanner driver menu. I habe installed the newest driver (3.3.3). In some applications (Acrobat X, GraphicConverter) I need to scan with TWAIN, but it is not possible to choose the scanner because it does not appear in the dropdown menu. Does any know, if it is generally possible to scan using TWAIN?
I am totally confused about my all-in-one. Before Lion I used it successfully for printing and scanning, both using USB and Ethernet connection. I can't recollect using it wirelessly. I'd like to use it wirelessly now, but I have problems. The printer works very unreliably, getting connection error from time to time, and the scanner does not work at all. When I open Canon IJ Network Scanner Selector, I see my scanner but I can't select it. The radio buttons are disabled and 'Do Not Use' is selected. I did completely reinstall the printer, removed all the drivers and Canon software, with no luck. All I need is for it to wirelessly print reliably and scan using Image Capture.
I have a Canon MX350 wifi printer that my MacAir recognizes but not my iMac. Both are on OS X 10.7.4Â snow leopard. It's a pain to get anything printed right now - I have to grab everything through the MacAir since I can't print or scan directly from the iMac.What do I do?
I have Mac OS 10.7.3 I keep getting the message 'there was problem connecting to server epson 6649b7. I go to that printer, which was never an active printer, but it will not allow me to delete it. The only option I am given is resume printing / supply levels / printer setup. Even if I correctly choose Epson WF600 as my default printer, I still get that message popping up constantly.

Last night, when I tried to print a document in Acrobat on my Epson 2200, I got a notice to the effect that new software was required for the 2200, and did I want to download it. Feeling comfortable that I was dealing with an Apple installation, I approved the install. Now I cannot print anything on my Epson 2200. Every print attempt fails. I have reinstalled the print driver, tried another driver (Gutenprint), but can't get anything to work.I'm running Lion 10.7.4 on an iMac with 4 Gb of RAM.Â

Just out of the blue, I can't print using my epson 600, a multi use printer that I have set up on my network.
The strange thing is my scaning driver is there and working, but my wireless printer is not there. I can see my Epson Printer, but its not the wireless driver, its the older driver for using the cable.
I'm having an issue with the printer and scanner preferences after an upgrade from SL to lion. It keeps quitting, after several attempts I could reset the printing preferences as described in the apple support doc here [URL] but no luck it still quits. I also reset the pram and smc.
This is the crash log: Process: System Preferences [217] Path: /Applications/System Preferences.app/Contents/MacOS/System Preferences Identifier: com.apple.systempreferences Version: 11.0 (11.0) Build Info: SystemPrefsApp-214003000000000~2 .....
Trying to scan a sheet to my MacBook Air running Lion, but whenever I open the scanner from the System Preferences, it just stays like this and nothing happens. Reading around, it appears that you can't use the MX350 scanner over WiFi using Lion. It works perfectly on my iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 but unfortunately I can't use that right now.
I've tried inserting a USB stick formatted with Mac OS (Journaled) and it doesn't want to do anything, I've tried installing multiple scanner drivers from the Canon website, I've also tried to do a software update. I'm running Mac OSX Lion 10.7.4 and have a Netgear router supplied by Virgin Media. It prints perfectly fine from the MacBook Air.

I am setting up a Dell 1355cn printer that has a scan to network feature. I have enabled SMB networking in my system preferences. Now I need to know how to get the scanner to scan to a shared folder on my Mac. These are the settings I have tried but so far I am getting an error on the printer.
I've just got this new printer and it's great, but i can't make the ADF (document feeder) scan across the network The display on the printer says that there's a document in the feeder, but when i press scan it always starts to scan the flatbed instead.Â
I purchased an Epson Workforce 4530 all in one printer. Using this machine, so far, is less than an all in one experience with OS Lion. I seem to be unable to fax from my computer, and scanning from the computer via wifi connection requires I use Image Capture, rather than the Epson software. Using Image Capture to scan multipage documents is less than desirable as it scans each page as an individual image/file.
I'm feeling a bit like a ping-pong ball with my brand new $250 paperweight, otherwise know as the Epson Picturemate 300 SHOW compact printer. I dumped Canon because they stopped supporting the Selphy 780 after about 2 years. That said, when I try to add the SHOW, Apple "says" their is no compatible software and to check with the printer manufacturer. So i check with Epson....they say check with APPLE!
I've tried to print a document with 2side option but on the layout option the selection is inactive.I try to install the latest driver but the result is the same. The worst thing is that with a PC with windows OS it works!
I recently hooked up an EPSON 1400 to my Lion iMac and MBP. I downloaded the latest drivers from EPSON and have run Software Update (Apple). However, no where in the printer settings can I selecte the TYPE OF PAPER for output, such as Plain, Photo, Photo Glossy, Matte. Why aren't any of these settings available under Lion for this printer? Are they hidden somewhere?
