Applications :: Scan Document - Make It Template To Add Text
Dec 21, 2010How do I do this, scanning a document as a TIFF or using a text recognition program to create a template, then making a place were I can edit text, or add text to the document scanned?
steps I think?
1) scan document as TIFF
2) convert to PDF
3) use a PDF form filler? like [URL]

Apr 2, 2012Has anyone successfully set up scan to smb to mac os 10.7.x from a Konica Minolta bizhub. I'm using 10.7.3 on MacBook Pro. Don't care what model bizhub is being used as I have access to many. I've seen the posts for FTP workarounds but want to use SMB if that is an option.

Feb 10, 2012I have a new HP Photosmart 7510. It is possible to scan, if I use HP Scan 3 or the possibility in the printer and scanner driver menu. I habe installed the newest driver (3.3.3). In some applications (Acrobat X, GraphicConverter) I need to scan with TWAIN, but it is not possible to choose the scanner because it does not appear in the dropdown menu.
Does any know, if it is generally possible to scan using TWAIN?

May 15, 2012I have noticed for few days, that since I have upgraded to OS X 10.7.3 I cannot open my scanner any more. Mac shows a message that says "it cannot open de applications installer because the application PowerPC is not compatible anymore" I have tried to search new drivers on Epson website but they still have the old ones.Is there any way I can scan documents again or I have to change printer. The printer works fine to print documents from any Mac application. It is just the scanner that does not open.

Jun 1, 2012I am totally confused about my all-in-one. Before Lion I used it successfully for printing and scanning, both using USB and Ethernet connection. I can't recollect using it wirelessly. I'd like to use it wirelessly now, but I have problems. The printer works very unreliably, getting connection error from time to time, and the scanner does not work at all. When I open Canon IJ Network Scanner Selector, I see my scanner but I can't select it. The radio buttons are disabled and 'Do Not Use' is selected. I did completely reinstall the printer, removed all the drivers and Canon software, with no luck. All I need is for it to wirelessly print reliably and scan using Image Capture.

Apr 25, 2012I'm having an issue with the printer and scanner preferences after an upgrade from SL to lion. It keeps quitting, after several attempts I could reset the printing preferences as described in the apple support doc here [URL] but no luck it still quits. I also reset the pram and smc.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Possible To Scan With Canon Pixma MX350 Over WiFi?
May 16, 2012Trying to scan a sheet to my MacBook Air running Lion, but whenever I open the scanner from the System Preferences, it just stays like this and nothing happens. Reading around, it appears that you can't use the MX350 scanner over WiFi using Lion. It works perfectly on my iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 but unfortunately I can't use that right now.
I've tried inserting a USB stick formatted with Mac OS (Journaled) and it doesn't want to do anything, I've tried installing multiple scanner drivers from the Canon website, I've also tried to do a software update. I'm running Mac OSX Lion 10.7.4 and have a Netgear router supplied by Virgin Media. It prints perfectly fine from the MacBook Air.

Apr 2, 2012Firstly, I know pretty much nothing about how to use Automator, nor do I know if it's even the right thing to be useing for this.What I would like to do is create a service that appears when I right click on a folder that sends that folder to DaisyDisk for scanning. I know that the application accepts folders via drag & drop onto the app (or alias). This is Plan B as I would much rather be able to simply work from within Finder via context sensitive menus.I've poked around in Automator in creating a new service, but I can't find a way to invoke or pass anything along to DaisyDisk.

Every time I launch preview to perform some scanning, I find that I must select File->Import from Scanner->Include Networked Devices.Â
I find this mildly annoying. Is there a way that I can get Preview to include networked scanning devices by default?Â

Jun 16, 2012I have an iMac 27" (intel 3.4 GHz, Intel core i7, and 16 GB memroy) purchased a few months ago. It is running the latest version of Lion 10.7.4 I run this computer on our network along with a iMac 24" 3.5years old and a Macbook Pro 2.5year old.Â
This computer seems to have a beef with the Hewlett-Packard printer (HP colour laser jet CM1312nfi MFP) which I have had for about 3 years. I can not get the new computer to work with the printer properly. It allows printing but it pauses all the time when you resume the print it starts printing from the begining of the document againIt will pause any prints sent to it across the network after the first 1 or 2 pages are printedIt won't allow scanning at allWhen you launch the scanner it takes forever to connect (3 - 4 mins)If you try to scan using any of the scan options (if it loads the devise) it then states it can not connect to the device, or all the scan buttons apear but greyed out.This is odd as it will still allow printing??Â
Also, all the other PC's have the same version of Lion 10.7.4 and have the latest HP Driver installed (these were released on the 14 Dec 2011). Other useful infoThe scanner is hard wired to the 27" machineYou can only use the printer if one scanner is hard wired as it does not have wirless capacity.I have uninstalled and installed the software more times than i can count trying all different trouble shooting etcI can only conclued that there is somthing the 27" machine is doing to prevent the scnanner registering properlyNone of the other computers can use the scanner correctly either. As you can only scan a page at a time using the "Scan" button. If I wish to scan multiple pages on with either of the other computers I need to use the "scan to folder" button.Â

Intel Mac :: Printed Text Doesn't Match Size Of Onscreen Text
Jul 2, 2012Mac screen resolution is getting higher and higher, which is nice, but the downside is that we seem to have lost "what you see is what you get." I have set the default document size of Text-Edit to about the size of an 8 1/2 x 11 document, which fits easily on the screen. I have what appears to be a single page of text. It all easily fits in the document window. The headline fits across the width of the page. But when I choose Print, the print preview shows that the text is going to spill out onto two sheets of paper.  I exit out of the print document and reduce the text size so that it all prints out on one sheet of paper. The problem is, the size of the text onscreen is now TINY! It looks like it's about 6 point while the printed text looks like it's about 12 point! No WYSIWYG!  When I revert the document to the way it was originally, where it was going to print out on two sheets of paper, and then hold my printed document up next to the screen, the printed size matches the onscreen size almost perfectly, even though, if printed out at this size, the text would spill out onto two pages and be huge. In other words, 18 point size text prints out at about 12 points and 12 pt text prints out at about 6pts, so there's about a 6pt difference in how text looks onscreen and how it prints out. Again, No WYSIWYG! My older Macs had much lower-resolution screens, but text printed out at about the same apparent size on screen. I know the original Macs had 72dpi screens so that they would closely match the printed size of text, and I like the fact that monitors keep getting better, but is there a way around this problem of printed text not matching the size of onscreen text?

Final Cut Pro X :: Correcting Text In Project That Will Not Show Separate Text From Video
Dec 7, 2014So I found the lost project in FCPX. It has a music tract, text and video. When I pulled the project down for editing, I am able to separate the music from the video, but the text bubbles do not appear above the video allowing me to change the misspelled words that need editing.I've searched all of my backup drives for the original footage in case I have to re-edit the whole thing, but I'm unable to find the original footage. Every event in my libraries appears as a finished project.

Safari :: 5.1.2 Keeps Changing Text Field Randomly On Text Input
Feb 21, 2012Safari keeps changing the text field on input, do you know how to correct this issue?Â
Here is an example:
Let's say I load www.google.com, it appears in the safari window as usual.
Suppose I begin to type a search in the google search field at the top right of the safari window (not the one on the google page)
if when doing this the sentence is long for the search, at some point randomly, the rest of the text will be entered this time in the google search text field on the google page! (which is the very next text field) So when I hit enter it makes google search half of my request...
Safari changed the text field I was into with no warning. I want to say I do not press tab at any moment. This is annoying really, and this does not appear anywhere else than in Safari. It seems the issue is not systematic, but appears quite often.
I have no universal access setting except "enable access for assistive device" I had to check this box upon installing a software in the past but I can't remember what it was.Â
