View 1 Replies View RelatedI just updated to 10.1.3 yesterday. Ever since, FCP X 10.1.3 is constantly creating backup folders....that contain nothing in them. In one day alone, it has created more than 2,367 folders and its still going.
Even more concerning....where are the actual backups? All of the 2000+ folders are empty. I did not make a back up of 10.1.2 before upgrading.Â

I have a Macbook (10.4). When I try to open a .jar file, I got a message like: can't open. In the Console, the error message is: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: Bad version number in .class file
I googled it and it seem that something is missing from my OS, since the .jar file has been "compiled" with something that I don't have (??). Software update is ok, and on the terminal (don't ask me how I arrived there):

I just updated my laptop to the 10.7.4 and now every 5 seconds there is this message in Console:

I am trying to connect from my macbook pro to iMac by using remote management with allow access for All Users but cannot get to connect from MBP to iMac. I can connect without problems from iMac to MBP. The macbook pro just sits trying to connect.
I check the log on the iMac and see the new entry appear during connect attempt of:

In Mac OS 10.6, the Console.app had an option to show the "Console Log" which included what looks like the stdout/stderr message of running applications not explicitly sent to syslog. The option showed up as the second option in the system log queries/database queries list on the Log List.In 10.7, the only option is "All Messages" and there does not appear to be a way to view the "console log" as it was in 10.6. Is there a way to turn this on in 10.7? Does the Mac no longer provide a way to see the stdout/stderr messages for running applications (those run as .app and not from terminal)?see attached screen shots (left is 10.6/right is 10.7) with console messages option missing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was using a program which opened my console and then I noticed in my console had messages referring to a couple of programs I removed a long time ago by dragging them to the Trash. It seems to be reporting thousands of messages every minute for one of the programs with the message "User or app not found." recurring.
This must be using resources, is there any way to stop this?
What is crossover, and why do I keep getting a load error?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect a Macbook Pro to my printer wirelessly. I can connect it, but it uses my other Macbook Pro as a server (shared). I cannot connect this printer to the previously mentioned Macbook directly, as I get the message; "an error occurred while trying to add the selected device. Unable to communicate with the printer at this time."
On the printer selection menu, it says the printers are "bonjour printers". The shared printer via my other Macbook shows as shared, and the (same) printer directly off my network does not show shared, so I think it is a sharing problem.All the printer sharing is enabled, so I don't know why it shows that it is not shared.
The printer is a Canon MP530 which works fine. Everything connected fine before I used this printer. I am running Yosemite OS X 10.101 on both Macs, but I don't think that matters because I had the same problem before I upgraded. I have reset the printing system, repaired permissions, everything I can think of, and I still can't directly connect this printer over wi-fi.The driver even upgraded with the new OS X, so it's not the driver.
I can print, but only using my other Mac as a "server", and it has to be on. I shouldn't have to do that.The main question seems to be how do I set sharing permissions when they are already set to share?These are my choices on the "add printer" menu:

My problem is that I can't empty my trash, I've tried every solution I've found on the internet, but none of them actually work. When I try to empty it, I get the message that the items are in use, but it is practically impossible, because they are some text files, but with weird extension in the filename's end, for example:Â

There are like 30 files like this, and they are in a folder called "Notes", but every time I try to empty them, I get the message that they are in use, although everything is closed except finder. I've tried to rename the files, but then I get the error code -43. The folder itself can be renamed, but that doesn't work. When I try to move the files to another folder or drive, again: error code -43.

My MacBook air keeps slowing down and giving me the error message "Your system has run out of application memory". I end up having to force quit all applications and reboot, which fixes the problem for 10 - 15 minutes and then it starts over again.Â

Whenever I try to open a file associated with Preview by double-clicking the file I get the following error message...
If I open Preview first and then open the same file from within Preview it works fine. I've tried going into Info for various filetypes and changing the "Open with:" value to change it to something else then change it back to Preview but that doesn't change the behavior. As you can see in the error message it says "Acorn created this file on August 27, 2014"... what that means. I tried deleting the Acorn app but get the same error message..

Popup error comes up on my screen five times at a time and immediately reappears when I click ok. I'm using Yosemite 10.10.1 now and still had the problem before I updated. In the past I saw that this issue was resolved by uninstalling pharos but I don't have pharos installed on my computer.

In my calendar I get an error message "Server Responded with an Error - Access to account "Gmail" is not permitted". This is an old account which I don;t use. I have deleted the account in the system preferences, but the error message keeps appearing in calendar and I cannot clear it. I am getting this message when I try to open the "messages" on my macbook pro: "An internal Messages error occurred." It doesn't give me anymore information and tells me I have to quit the program and restart. I do so and still get the same response. I have updated to the latest version of Yosemite and restarted the computer. This is a new issue that just arose today when I turned on my computer. I have been using messages, including the new text forwarding feature flawlessly since Yosemite's release and even before that for iMessages with mavericks.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently ran a ‘verify’ scan in Disk Utility as a precaution after Word crashed. An ‘incorrect number of file links’ error message showed up, as well as a prompt to repair this using Disk Utility from the Recovery HD. However, when I do a scan from the Recovery HD version of Disk Utility, no error messages or repair prompts appear.
My questions… Is this something to be concerned about? How can it be fixed? Would it be best to do a clean install of OSX? I only lost a little bit of data so I was pretty lucky.

I have a later 2012 iMac 27". The computer was running slow for the past week or so. I decided to update to Yosemite today. The installation stated it had a critical error and the downloaded file was corrupted. It asked to re-download the file, and then the iMac froze. It went to a gray screen without a restart. I forced the iMac to restart. After the restart, a progress bar with the Apple symbol would come up and then the iMac would shut down. I have attempted to restart using Internet Recovery; however, the OSX will not show a drive to install to. I did another Internet Recovery and had Disk Utility come up, but it only sees a partition with approximately 2 gigs of the 3 terabytes I actually have. It seems as if iMac is not properly mounting the drive. I have two questions.
1) Is there some way to have the bios remount the drive and
2) if 1 is not possible, is it possible to recover the data off the drive?

Since yesterday I have not been able to boot normally into Leopard. I had just switched of my ADSL modem and the computer froze after that it never boots in normal mode. I am in safe mode, the audio does not work in safe mode, everything is working. I am attaching the crash report in text format. I did try to boot after removing all the peripherals, also tried to reinstall but the computer does not accept the install disk , just ejects them. I am in real trouble now, suggestions are welcome.
