Dec 10, 2014I needed to check on my network. When I opened Airport Utility, the only thing that loads is the internet icon, showing green. Neither my TC, or an older airport extreme on my network, are identified. Clicking on the drop down shows "no new wifi or airport devices found" .

A while back I "upgraded" to Yosemite and noticed my system ran slower and some web pages wouldn't load. I had Mountain Lion with less issues and less pinwheels. I went to YO to improve the slow loading but I now feel it is worse.
Should I return to ML or work out issues with YO? I've talked with a AppleRep a month back and did a PRAM reset and disc repair..My modem and router have been replaced without any notice in improvement.

Constantly shutting down current screen(s) and or just sitting there loading a page until I get a "Safari Cannot Load Page" error due to servers not being found. Even on the Apple website this happens. Very frustrating when doing online banking and all info is lost when you have this issue happening upon an entry.

Jul 9, 2009I've returned from work and Safari wont load (kids may have done something, they say not).
Home page wont load just a white blank page then the error message the application Safari quite unexpectedly Mac OS X and other apps are not affected.
It doesn't matter if I relaunch, report or close / restart it happens again. I don't have Firefox any more so I cant try that.

Dec 11, 2014I am trying to connect a Macbook Pro to my printer wirelessly. I can connect it, but it uses my other Macbook Pro as a server (shared). I cannot connect this printer to the previously mentioned Macbook directly, as I get the message; "an error occurred while trying to add the selected device. Unable to communicate with the printer at this time."
On the printer selection menu, it says the printers are "bonjour printers". The shared printer via my other Macbook shows as shared, and the (same) printer directly off my network does not show shared, so I think it is a sharing problem.All the printer sharing is enabled, so I don't know why it shows that it is not shared.
The printer is a Canon MP530 which works fine. Everything connected fine before I used this printer. I am running Yosemite OS X 10.101 on both Macs, but I don't think that matters because I had the same problem before I upgraded. I have reset the printing system, repaired permissions, everything I can think of, and I still can't directly connect this printer over wi-fi.The driver even upgraded with the new OS X, so it's not the driver.
I can print, but only using my other Mac as a "server", and it has to be on. I shouldn't have to do that.The main question seems to be how do I set sharing permissions when they are already set to share?These are my choices on the "add printer" menu:

OS X Yosemite :: Can't Empty Trash / Error Code -43
Dec 9, 2014My problem is that I can't empty my trash, I've tried every solution I've found on the internet, but none of them actually work. When I try to empty it, I get the message that the items are in use, but it is practically impossible, because they are some text files, but with weird extension in the filename's end, for example:
notes_102_331_2012-(ABC).txt/Zone.Identifier
There are like 30 files like this, and they are in a folder called "Notes", but every time I try to empty them, I get the message that they are in use, although everything is closed except finder. I've tried to rename the files, but then I get the error code -43. The folder itself can be renamed, but that doesn't work. When I try to move the files to another folder or drive, again: error code -43.

Dec 3, 2014My MacBook air keeps slowing down and giving me the error message "Your system has run out of application memory". I end up having to force quit all applications and reboot, which fixes the problem for 10 - 15 minutes and then it starts over again.
I am on the road for work and won't be able to get to an Apple store until next week, but this is creating a gigantic headache for me. I found a bunch of threads on this same topic for Snow Leapord, but nothing pertaining to Yosemite.

OS X Yosemite :: Error Message Says Preview Is Damaged And Can't Be Opened?
Dec 11, 2014Whenever I try to open a file associated with Preview by double-clicking the file I get the following error message...
If I open Preview first and then open the same file from within Preview it works fine. I've tried going into Info for various filetypes and changing the "Open with:" value to change it to something else then change it back to Preview but that doesn't change the behavior. As you can see in the error message it says "Acorn created this file on August 27, 2014"... what that means. I tried deleting the Acorn app but get the same error message..

Dec 12, 2014Yesterday everything was fine but today my macbook freeze/stuck during the boot.
I've done this:
- check + repair permission (nothing changed)
- check + repair disk (nothing changed)
- tried safemode (doesn't boot)
- resetting pram with cmd+opt+p+r (nothing changed)
- boot in verbose mode, shift+cmd+v and after "waiting for DSMOS" appear disk0s2: I/O error. (now 6 times, but it will continue I think )

Nov 30, 2014Popup error comes up on my screen five times at a time and immediately reappears when I click ok. I'm using Yosemite 10.10.1 now and still had the problem before I updated. In the past I saw that this issue was resolved by uninstalling pharos but I don't have pharos installed on my computer.

Dec 6, 2014In my calendar I get an error message "Server Responded with an Error - Access to account "Gmail" is not permitted". This is an old account which I don;t use. I have deleted the account in the system preferences, but the error message keeps appearing in calendar and I cannot clear it. At the moment i can't use calendar or access calendar preferences to see that the account has been deleted. Yet another error which has cropped up since Yosemite.

Dec 11, 2014I can no longer receive or send imessage photos within Yosemite Messages App. Standard txt messages work fine but Photo's do not. I recieve the following error when sending our receiving photos in the File Transfer window :

Dec 5, 2014I am getting this message when I try to open the "messages" on my macbook pro: "An internal Messages error occurred." It doesn't give me anymore information and tells me I have to quit the program and restart. I do so and still get the same response. I have updated to the latest version of Yosemite and restarted the computer. This is a new issue that just arose today when I turned on my computer. I have been using messages, including the new text forwarding feature flawlessly since Yosemite's release and even before that for iMessages with mavericks.

Dec 1, 2014I recently ran a ‘verify’ scan in Disk Utility as a precaution after Word crashed. An ‘incorrect number of file links’ error message showed up, as well as a prompt to repair this using Disk Utility from the Recovery HD. However, when I do a scan from the Recovery HD version of Disk Utility, no error messages or repair prompts appear.
My questions… Is this something to be concerned about? How can it be fixed? Would it be best to do a clean install of OSX? I only lost a little bit of data so I was pretty lucky.

IMac (Intel) :: HDD No Longer Visible After Yosemite Update - Critical Error
Dec 2, 2014I have a later 2012 iMac 27". The computer was running slow for the past week or so. I decided to update to Yosemite today. The installation stated it had a critical error and the downloaded file was corrupted. It asked to re-download the file, and then the iMac froze. It went to a gray screen without a restart. I forced the iMac to restart. After the restart, a progress bar with the Apple symbol would come up and then the iMac would shut down. I have attempted to restart using Internet Recovery; however, the OSX will not show a drive to install to. I did another Internet Recovery and had Disk Utility come up, but it only sees a partition with approximately 2 gigs of the 3 terabytes I actually have. It seems as if iMac is not properly mounting the drive. I have two questions.
1) Is there some way to have the bios remount the drive and
2) if 1 is not possible, is it possible to recover the data off the drive?

Sep 18, 2009I installed OneNote on my Mac with Crossover. It worked fine for a while, but now it refuses to let me open any of my OneNote files. It tells me, "Microsoft OneNote has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install the application." I have tried everything that I can think of to try to recover these files, but, then again, I do not know much about computers.
