I just updated to 10.1.3 yesterday. Ever since, FCP X 10.1.3 is constantly creating backup folders....that contain nothing in them. In one day alone, it has created more than 2,367 folders and its still going.
Even more concerning....where are the actual backups? All of the 2000+ folders are empty. I did not make a back up of 10.1.2 before upgrading.
what this error is that tries to launch every minute in console and how to fix it?

Trying to backup to Passport Time machine. Has worked fine until a few days ago.
There are 3 macs:
A: an old macbook (the white one)
B: a modern macbook pro (retina)
C: another modern macbook pro (TBD)
I am giving away B now; I expect to get C in 2 months time; I keep A with me all the time.
The goal is to migrate all of the data from B to C. I have Time Machine backups of B.
Since the transition is a long time (2 months), I need to keep working on my data during this period. For this I will use A. This will generate new files, modify old ones, ...
Since A's HDD is much smaller than B's backup, I can move only part of them.
By the way, I have totally erased A and used migration assistant to restore part of my old data from B. So, when I use A now, I do it with my same account as in B (and the same I will use in C).
How do I manage my backups in such a way that, when I will get C, I can safely move all of the data I had in B plus all of the changes and modifications that I have done during the 2 month transition?
Can I just continue to use Time Machine (on A) to update the old backups? I am afraid that some mess could be created because the computers are different (before the backups were taken on B, while now on A), even the present data are different (because now A only contains a subset of the original B data, which I do NOT want to lose), the good point is that the user is the same.
after deleting "com.apple.appstore.plist" I get the same message but with (13). Now it#s always the same: (100).

Error "The file “DMAccount.h” couldn’t be saved in the folder “Headers”" after 10.7.3 update. While app update download starts normaly the error msg pops up every time right at the end of download process and it starts all over (dnld-error-dnld-error... ("Try again", she asks me)).

Formatting my HD and freshly installing mac OS X, I dragged final cut into my HD and even ran the app from there, does that mean I'm good to go or is it still using files in my internal HD and would not work if completely deleted from the mac internal drive?

Is there a place I can adjust settings, mainly the frequency of backups? It seems to backup way too often on my machine. About every 15 minutes or so. And it completely haults any job I'm currently running.My work also requires I have many libraries open at once, which leads to the frequent backups of the many libraries.

When I was setting up my new mac I recovered it from an existing backup (my old computer) and everything seemed to be back to normal. On my old computer I was in the process of making a video with Final Cut Pro X and made sure that it was backed up onto the external hard drive. On my new mac when I tried to recover it, it appeared as a file that couldn't be opened with FCP. Within FCP it had the video but all of the files were missing. I started to relink all of the files but there has to be a faster way. How do I recover this file? Is there a way to just import the backup without having to ever relink files?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWell TM is acting up. I get an error that reads: "This backup is too large for the backup volume." Both the internal boot disk and the external baclup drive are 1TB. The internal one has a two partitions, the OSX one that is 900GBs and a 32GB NTFS one for Boot Camp. The external drive is a single OSX Extended part. that is 932GBs. Both the Time Machine disk, and the Boot Camp disk are excluded from the backup along with a "Crap" folder for temporary large files.
Time Machine says it needs 938GBs to backup only the OSX disk, which has 806GBs in use with the rest free. WTFFF? This happened after moving a large folder (128GB in total) from the root of the OSX disk over to my Home Folder. I have reformated the Time Machine drive and have no backups at all of my data and it refuses to backup!! Why would it need 938GBs of space to backup if the disk has "only" 806 GBs in use??? Is there anyway to reset Time Machine completely?
I have been using FCP for quite a while now and just recently when I was trying to exporting a SD movie I got the message, "Error: Out of Memory".
Thinking I maybe had to many programs open I restarted the computer. That didn't work, so I shut down again and reset the memory.
Since that didn't work either, I transferred the files to second compute, but got the same message. Finally tracking the problem down I removed the effect "Line Art" and was able to export.
But I would really like to have the effect on the clip, any ideas on what is going on here?
I've been getting this error since last night when I try to render: Error: Out of Memory. Last night, I also installed a new 500 GB Harddrive and upgraded from Os x 10.4.11 to the Newest Snow Leopard, with iLife and iWork. I've looked at my computer's activity monitor, and there doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary taking up all my memory. It could be possible I don't know what to look for too. I'm working on finishing an animation with a deadline, and without rendering.

We have a slow connection at home so I leave it downloading overnight, but when I get up in the morning it says theirs an error in the pkg. Is there anyway I can download the update directly (e.g. on my faster work connection) and then take that file home to do the update?

I am running Final Cut Pro 7 on a MacBook with a 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo. I have used FCP to edit before using video from a camera that used mini DV tapes and that worked fine. I recently got the Flip Ultra HD, which records straight to MP4 with the following format: 1280x720, 30 FPS, H.264 video compression. I imported the files on my computer and then imported them into FCP. When I try to play them in the viewer I get a window that says: General Error. Then another window that says: out of memory. I have tried restarting both the computer and the program.

Ive looked up this problem and I cannot find a solution, I've tried doing whatever i can think of like copy and pasting it all into a different project and trying that, creating a new event and pasting it into a project there, ive tried turning off App Nap too.
Also, all throughout editing this actual video i kept running out of disk space and alot of errors would come up, so when this error came up i thought it might be that and i deleted alot of things i didnt need and cleared out my trash but it hasnt made a difference.

Multiple times I tried but the download would show up as an error after various amounts of downloading. Now, I can't even begin the download without an error coming up. I have tried deleting the app multiple times but all I get is an error whenever I try and download it.

It sometimes says its loading a project and then doesn't allow me to do anything else or even quit. Im VERY VERY angry now because it is holding me up on deadlines. Ive been to the genius store, they came up with a solution however the it is still happening again!!! What do I do???

When starting FCP X, it comes up with an error message that says, that it is unable to connect to my NAS-Server (located at home, not at work). First i thought this is because i have a project linking to some files on the NAS, but later i found out, that FCP X tries to connect to the media of Iphoto, which is located in my home network on a NAS even if there is no project containing any pictures of Iphoto.
The error message continuous to appear even if i click OK. What to do?
