MacBook Pro :: Popup Error Message Keeps Appearing Using Yosemite 10.10.1
Nov 30, 2014
Popup error comes up on my screen five times at a time and immediately reappears when I click ok. I'm using Yosemite 10.10.1 now and still had the problem before I updated. In the past I saw that this issue was resolved by uninstalling pharos but I don't have pharos installed on my computer.
Popup Error Message: "Failed to listen for incoming Popup jobs. You will not be able to use Popup printing for the duration of this session. Please report this incident to a system administrator."
In my calendar I get an error message "Server Responded with an Error - Access to account "Gmail" is not permitted". This is an old account which I don;t use. I have deleted the account in the system preferences, but the error message keeps appearing in calendar and I cannot clear it. At the moment i can't use calendar or access calendar preferences to see that the account has been deleted. Yet another error which has cropped up since Yosemite.
Whenever I try to open a file associated with Preview by double-clicking the file I get the following error message...
If I open Preview first and then open the same file from within Preview it works fine. I've tried going into Info for various filetypes and changing the "Open with:" value to change it to something else then change it back to Preview but that doesn't change the behavior. As you can see in the error message it says "Acorn created this file on August 27, 2014"... what that means. I tried deleting the Acorn app but get the same error message..

So I did read though the previous forum relating to this problem. None of the posters were having the exact issue I am, and I could not find a solution within.
my hardware: powerbook G4. 1.33GHz Power PC. (upgraded to) 2GB DDR SDRAM. (just upgraded to) 320GB WD HDD
my OS: Just installed 10.4.11
Here's the scenario (I hope someone can help): Several months ago my poor baby took a dive off a counter onto the tile floor, while running. Never before this did I see the "Kernal Panic" restart screen.
Immediately following the fall, I get the error if the computer is bumped, moved or if I put weight on the keyboard (palms).
I feared it was a HDD issue so I hastily replaced the toshiba 60GB HD with a WD320 HD. And at the same time I upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.11.
The computer seemed fine for a couple weeks, now I am getting the error again with increasing frequency. Mostly when I put pressure on the keyboard (palms).
What I tried: new HD, new OS, checked the RAM to see if it had come loose in the fall.
Could it be my video card? Is it more likely hardware or software?
I upgraded to the new OS X Yosemite and within 2 days of my upgrade; I had a popup for me to update my Java Script. I went through the download and after the download, I still have the Java Popup randomly coming up when I'm online. I did attempt to go through the download again, to clear it up and also attempted deleting it from the HDD. I also downloaded an Apple Debug Program and ran it.

This message pop up after stopped copying of images from my iMac to flash drive: the finder cannot read or written some data, error code - 36. What can I do? Not saying which data wrong and what exactly that data. The system is Mac OS X 10.6.8
I use Google 2-step verification. With my upgrade to Yosemite, all my text messages that previously only went to my iPhone now also appear on my Macbook Pro. In general that's fine, but it's a big security problem. If anyone gets my computer then they immediately have access to all my 2-step codes because the codes will be sent to my Macbook in addition to my phone. Previously I only had to worry about one device (my phone) and but now there is a big problem with my computer falling into the wrong hands.
Is this an attempt by Apple to stop people from using Google 2-step verification?
My Macbook Air has been working fine up until recently. Now all of a sudden I get a white screen and a flashing folder on start up. I've looked into this on the support forums and found nothing. The following did nothing for me and I can't get to Disk Utility:
Pressing Option+C
Pressing Option+D
Resetting VPROT.
However I thought I had some Joy with Option+R. It gets to the Internet recovery stream but then won't connect to any network. I have no Bootable version of MacOSX and can't create a copy on USB because the only other computer I have is a PC.Specs: Macbook Air (2011), 2GB Ram, 64GB SSD, i5 Processor, Mac OS X Lion.
When I connect my iPhone to the Mac, the attached image always shows up ( as a window ) . I've looked under the iTunes panel for the iPhone and there isn't even a folder that it should be synced...
i lost the message appearing on the bottom portion. I now have to double click message to read it. How do i fix this to put it back the way it use to be?
I am trying to send an email with an attached resume to someone but every time I attach the pdf file it appears in the message. I do not want to send that way. I just want them to be able to save and open it.
My Time Machine now failing to backup. The machine can see the external drive (tells me that 1.8T of 2TB available) but every time over past 14 days has failed to function and pops up error window.

When I try to print something from the internet, the entire print window doesn't show up. For instance, I can see the print button, cancel button, and how many pages it is. I can only see about an inch of the preview.
I just downloaded Magnifique 2.1 for my Mac (Macbook, 13-inch, 2 gigs of RAM, Mac OS X 10.5). As soon as I open the application, I get an error message saying this:
Applescript Error System Events got an error: Some data was the wrong type. (-1703)
The downloadable theme gallery won't show as well. This same message appears if I try to search for any themes and appears every time I type a letter or two into the search bar in the application. Is there any way to fix this? I have tried re-installation but it doesn't work.
Both the mac and HP Photo printer are online. My printer is listed but when I print I get: The printer is not responding or the printer might not exist.
Trying to re-install Snow Leopard on a 17-inch MacBook Pro (early 2010).I have erased the HD and cannot boot from the Snow Leopard install DVD.I start and hold down the C key...does not get past the gray apple logo and THREE TONES sound...no further bootup.
How do I get an error message when iphoto away? This has to do with pictures that are imported. My Macbook can't off because it involves the error melding.
On Tuesday I was using my computer for several hours when a "Panic" error message appeared. I could not move the mouse or get the computer to respond so I restarted. At this point my computer would not turn back on, so I removed the battery pack and replaced it, it still did not turn on. I hadn't been doing anything except sitting in my room talking on ichat and browsing on safari, so naturally I was really confused how such a cataclysmic event occur that would cause my computer to not even restart. At this point I got on my PC downstairs and made an appointment with my local Apple store.
When I got to the store they told me at the genius bar that it had been a kernel error, and asked me a few general questions about its typical performance and whether anything had been out of the ordinary recently, it had not. Next the "genius" I was working with asked if I had been having battery issues, and I did not think I had been until he asked if it was typical for my computer to be "calculating remaining battery". My computer had been giving me that message periodically since I bought it, but I thought that was typical. That is exactly what I told him and then he said he thought it could be my Logic Board, but as long as I had not spilled anything on it the AppleCare would cover any repairs...........................
When I try to open my email I get an error message that says you are probably not logged on to the portal. I have signed on to my email account. I have restarted my computer, I have made sure that I am not on face time, I have also logged off and logged back onto my email account.
I brought a 13" Macbook air late 2013 model in December last year. It has 4GB Ram and a 120GB Storage.I have a 160GB portable hard-drive which I store all my files on (Music, pictures etc) so this leads me to this question. Why do I keep getting the error message "Run out of application memory".That message pops up when I use Chrome (Only program running!!!!!!!!!! other than Finder) even if I have one page open??
It's also popped up before when no programs are running and causes the MacBook to freeze up resulting in me having to turn it off via the power button. I have run Disk utility and there appears to be no issues? I Googled the error message and all it brought was up people having problems with the calendar application which I do not use nor is it running?
I have installed a free trial of Avid Media Composer 6. I had it on my computer and it was working fine, but I thought there was an issue so I unistalled it, and then reinstalled it. Now I am getting an error message whenever I attempt to open a project. It reads..."Segmentation fault" in thread "MainThread", at address 0x0 ... and then the Avid Media Composer shuts down. I have read that it is necessary to unistall any existing software first which is exactly what I did. Im using lion on a 2 ghz i7 macbook pro.
I'm trying to install Photoshop 5, and a message pops up saying "You can't open the application Install Photoshop because the Classic environment is no longer supported." What can I do??
I have just purchased a Macbook pro and have just seen on the Apps icon on the screen that I have 2 updates available, one for garageband and the other for iphoto. I tried logging in using my apple ID username and password but I keep getting an error message stating:"You have updates available for other accounts. To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it."I googled the apple ID error and it led me to the apple support side where I could find out if I had multiple apple ID's linked to the same email address.
It came back with 3 accounts linked to my email address.I have found the username's for all 3 accounts and changed the passwords to all the same and then tried to log in to Apps on the macbook but can't seem to do it. I was wondering if it's possible to delete Apple ID's so I only have one account. What I have noticed is that when using my iphone the old app's I have to log into my old Apple ID to download up-dates, whereas the newer apps on my phone I have to use my email address as the username.
I use a MacBook Pro 17'' (early 2009). I have both of my fans that run constantly at 6000rpm. I have run an AHT and received the following error number : Does someone know what it means ? 4SNS/1/40000000: TsOP-128.000
