Yesterday Apple released Safari 5.0.1 and Magic Trackpad and Multi-Touch Trackpad Update 1.0, but Software Update on my Mac makes me able to download only the first one (Safari 5.0.1) - which I did. Why can't it find the Multi-Touch Trackpad Update?
- My MacBook is fine (it's 13-inch, Mid 2009).
- My OS is fine (Mac OS X v10.6.4).
Sure, I can download it manually, BUT it makes me really annoyed if something on my Mac works not as good as it should.
I have a MacBook Pro and I just got it,I'm trying to log in to my iCloud but i can not access my number to verify the code they are trying to text me because i changed my number. What do i do now ?

I'm trying to update my Macbook Pro to the new 10.7.4 I have downloaded the update twice (no interruptions during download) and when i click to restart the computer to install the update, the update dosent install. I'm sorry to say that all was OK until.. I updated OS to 10.5.6 two days ago.. and my external 1T Seagate Freeagent Desktop for Mac stopped mounting on Firewire.
It will mount on USB, it will mount on FW when Mac is restarted, but will not when you boot up after your system was shut down.
I tried to reformat, repair the disk, repair permissions and nothing worked.
Somebody posted that you should disconnect your Firewire stuff before OS update? Is this correct?
Can anyone please suggest anything as I don't want to end up having this HD hooked with USB...
Alternatively how can I revert to the OS before the update? Is restoring from Time Machine the only solution?
I've bought Macbook pro yesterday and checked for software updates. But unfortunately my internet modem restarts for about 10 seconds, and I lost my update. Why doesn't the update resume by itself?

I have browsed the forum for an answer to my problem, but none of the "fixes" worked for me. Each time I try to check for updates the blue bar progresses almost to the end then suddenly quits. I deleted the cashes, all of them, and the plist and still no updates. This is what the "problem details are" except the 3 pages of gobbledygook that I cannot understand:

I want to update Aperture, but when I go to the App Store it tells me "All apps are up to date". I'm running an iMac, OS 10.6.8, current Aperture version 3.1.3 (latest version stated on App Store as 3.2.3).
I've tried downloading the update manually, but the updater doesn't work and tells me my version of the app must be updated through the App Store. (This is especially annoying because I transferred my Aperture Library to a MacBook which has a newer version of Aperture installed and it reformatted my library to a newer version. Now I've copied the library back to the MacBook but Aperture won't open the library because it's a requires the newer version of Aperture!)

The problem is this: when I try to turn off my IMac, the desktop disappears and the display becomes white, without anything else. It may stay in this way for several hours, maybe days.
I only can turn it off by pushing the on/off button for ten seconds. The start up is also very slow.

I installed Google Picasa far Mac on a 10.5.6 leopard machine. Today, a window told me that I should update my version of Picasa, but Picasa was not running. The updater was well hidden. In fact, there is no google updater in my StartupItems. Furthermore, there is no goo* process among the running processes. The only upd* process is "update", whose function I ignore. Does anyone know which one is the Google Updater process? At Google they forgot to add "sudo" and User Authentication in the updater. The updater fails also when launched with Administrator privileges. That's funny, the mighty Google offering us such pearls of Mac programming.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI see that this has been asked a few times (albeit a long time ago), but there's never really been a definitive answer.I have just switched to Mac and I used to use a program called iTLU on the PC which would automatically update my iTunes library (remove tracks that have been deleted from the hard drive and add tracks that are new).
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a used macbook and the previous owner left a copy of Photoshop CS 4 on there for me (I don't know if that is kosher or not). But I'm planning on buying the entire Creative Suite by next year, but it is a perk for me to have access to Photoshop for the time being.
I'm paranoid about losing access to Photoshop though, so I never update it with the Adobe updater for fear of it asking me for the serial # or it sensing a different IP or whatever it could do. But last night I allowed it to update the updater. Everything works fine still. I just allowed it to update itself, the actual updater program.
So i have a few questions:
1. Can people legitimately sell a mac with third party software still on the machine, such as Adobe Photoshop in my case?
2. When I allowed Adobe Updater udate itself from 6 version 6 to 6.0.2, did it talk to Adobe at all with regards to Photoshop, or is that too far of a stretch?
3. If I allowed the Updater to update Photoshop, would it check the serial # or anything at that point, or was the initial installation all there is to liscensing?
I'm asking this out of curiosity and because if I am in flagrant violation, I'd rather not be using the program. I'm paranoid about this type of thing too.
How do I remove the adobe updater from the top bar, check the screenshot.

When I tried to update my 10.7.3 iMac using the BIG combo updater (MacOSXUpdCombo10.7.4 1.5GB) installer tells me I need 10.7 installed. This has never happened to me with a combo updater. I am going to try with the smaller (600Mb) delta updater.
