Feb 24, 2012Ever since I updated my '10 Mac Pro to Lion (months ago), my original built in superdrive will not read any DVD's or CD's, commercial or not, that have data on them... It simply assumes the disk is blank when it clearly isn't. Now, if I insert a blank DVD and burn it, it works like a charm... but it will then NOT read the disk that it just burned??? How and why did Lion break my superdrive?

Jun 9, 2012I have a late-2010 MacBook Pro running Bootcamp 4.0 with Windows 7 64-bit. My graphics card is the nVidia GeForce 320m. I looked online recently and found that there was an update available for my graphics card (previously I had the one that comes with bootcamp, which is from 2009 I believe--quite outdated you see). So I installed it, hoping for better DX11 support, etc... It installed fine, but now my display is stuck on 100% brightness, when before I could adjust it with the F1 and F2 keys. When I try using the keys it shows the Apple popup with the slider moving, but the brightness doesn't change. I went into Control Panel > Power Settings and tried adjusting it from there, with no luck. The nVidia Control Panel doesn't have any satisfactory controls to do this either. It must be, of course, that the driver update changed things, but I'm not sure how to rectify the situation. I uninstalled the Apple Driver-Display from Control Panel and then re-installed from the Bootcamp files, but it didn't help. I've heard some talk about Apple Cinema Display, but I'm not sure if that's the same thing as the Display and whether I should be looking for a driver for it.Â

May 10, 2012Started the 10.7.4 install, and it halted. Turned my Mac off, started it back up, and apparently the 10.7.4 update didn't install, but it has caused the Mail function to not work AT ALL - I get a long error report that is auto sent to Apple.Â
I downloaded Lion from the Apple store, but have my Snow Leopard disk. How do I go about re-installing Mail?Â

I created a nice form for my client with a submit buttom to send his clients by email so they could share their answers on the same PDF straight to his inbox, but its not really working!!! After his clients fills in the form and clicks on the submit button, an error message from Adobe Reader appears that says ¨Operation not authorize¨Â

Mar 26, 2012I've had this email account with AT&T for a few years and it has worked with Mac Mail with no difficulty for a few years. Recently the account has been able to receive messages. Every time I hit Get Mail it asks for a password. I have installed all the latest updates through Software Update. I have a Mac Mini with OS Lion. After struggling for awhile, my inbox eventually comes in. I have reset all the incoming and outgoing POP Server accounts, as well as used the Web-mail version through [URL] and it all works fine.

May 8, 2012Ever since I installed Lion I have had a problem opening attachments to emails which are videos. Most of them I can open with VLC and a few with WMV Player, but none with Quick Time. If they are on my iPad or iPhone I can open them with VLC and send them to others. If they are on my Macbook Air I cannot send them because the email goes without the attachment.

Jun 17, 2012With Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on my MacBook Pro-13" (mid 2012) I could wake my sleeping Mac by just pushing the mouse or sliding my finger on the trackpad - this is connected to an external monitor mouse is a Logitech wireless (via USB connector to the sensor).I did NOT have to push the spacebar or click the mouse to wake the Mac BUT WITH LION I DO-- I cannot simply slide the mouse a bit this doesn't cause my MBP to wake.Is this something new with LION or do I have to set something to permit easier waking?

Jun 27, 2012I have an Intel-based iMac which I just upgraded two days ago from Snow Leopard to Lion (10.7.4). I did an upgrade-in-place (as opposed to a fresh install) and did a software update after the installation completed. I have my computer scheduled to wake up each morning at 6 a.m. When it wakes up, the sound doesn't work unless I reboot the computer. If I open up iTunes and try to play music, there is no sound (unless I reboot). The song progress meter at the top of iTunes won't even move when I hit the play button. When I open the Sound preference and click the Output tab, I do see the Headphone port and the output volume is set all the way up.
