Jun 22, 2012I just bought a new MacBook and I'm updating the software (ironic).The issue is that both software update and iTunes are saying there is a new version, but it won't finish the download. "The update could not be verified. It may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs." There is a note at the bottom that iTunes: Partially Downloaded (22%)I've rebooted twice, and I have looked in the download folder, but I can not find this partially downloaded file

OS X :: Snow Leopard On MacBook - Installation Doesn't Finish
Jan 17, 2010I just bought Snow Leopard today and I am trying to install it on my MacBook (with intel processor). I have inserted the dvd and tried to install it but there seems to be a problem as it is written: "Time remaining about 45 minutes" and this doesn't change. The dvd has been running for over 2 hours now and I don't know what to do nor what is going on? I understood installation with Snow Leopard should be faster. Is it normal that it takes so long to install the operating system (more than 2 hours)? It should just be an upgrade as I have Leopard already installed. I also have Windows Vista installed on a disk partition. Does that make any problem? It shouldn't as at the beginning of the installation I chose Macintosh HD.

Mar 7, 2009I've tried everything to get it to shuffle even resorting to reinstalling it. I've tried everything and even came up empty handed after Googling it.
I've tried changing the settings from shuffling from songs to albums or groupings, but nothing works. It seems like such a small problem, when really it's very cumbersome to deal with.
Oh and I use iTunes 8.
ITunes Doesn't Copy Media To Library
May 6, 2012I have a number of iTunes libraries, and for the "supplementary" ones, I set the preferences so that iTunes does not copy the media to the Library, instead it just references it.Usually the original media is on a disk other than the one the Library is located on.However I have noticed that when I do this, and add media to the Library, it changes the modification date of all the original media files. This is very impolite and improper behaviour. Why does iTunes change the modification date? For a start, all my backups are made out of sync, because they now think these files have been changed when they haven't.Is there any way to stop this and make iTunes play nice?I haven't tried making the files "read only" but frankly one should not need to do that to avoid the problem (and maybe iTunes would spit the dummy with read only files?).

Some might think I shouldn't be disturbed by this, but the search function was perfect until now. There were no unwanted selections. What is wrong? Jun 21, 2014My old iMac had OSX 10.5.xx and iTunes 9.xx installed and the iTunes library was stored on an external HD. I have run iTunes that way for many years and had to upgraded the HD a couple of times to the point I now have a 4TB drive for my iTunes library.Â
I have now bought a new iMac that has OSX 10.9.3 and iTunes 11.2.2 installed on it. I changed the default library location under iTunes preferences but it tunes does not read the files and keeps on wanting me to file my files from the Cloud.Â

Nov 24, 2010I attached external hard drive to Airport Extreme, set up home network and mounted the hard drive. My MacBook Pro can see the drive and all contents, including iTunes library. Our home PC which is running Windows XP also recognizes the drive and can see iTunes library in My Computer. Here is the problem. When I try to chose which iTunes library to open (Shift+click) in Windows XP, the library on my external HD is not visible so I cant open it! I see the cover art and music folder, just not the actual library. What am I missing here? I can see it in My Computer, why not in iTunes?! I need to link my external library to XP. Connecting external directly to PC will not work because I have a Time Capsule there.

Feb 3, 2012I have a directory of H.264/M4V files on an external HDD that I use in iTunes.I do this - without copying the files themselves - by simply dragging and dropping the contents of the directory into iTunes Movies.
HDD/H.264/(select all) -----drag into-----> iTunes/MoviesÂ
What I'm wondering however is - Can I get iTunes/Movies to AUTOMATICALLY update, when new items are added to this external folder on HDD/H.264? It hasn't been autoupdating thus far.Simply selecting ALL again HDD/H.264/(select all) and drag copying to iTunes/Movies DOES however add the new titles. Of course this has to be done every time I add something new.Â
ITunes :: Doesn't Wake External Drive With Library In Case If Remote Access
May 29, 2012I have latest iTunes 10.6.1 and its library located on external drive, connected by FW800.
System properties -> Energy saver -> Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible is On Everything works perfect in case of local access.
Also in case library's drive sleeps, it takes just several seconds more in order to wake drive. But remote access works only in case the drive is waked somehow. I.e. if Home Sharing is enabled and drive sleeps I cannot get access to the content from remote iTunes or Apple TV.Â
I think it is a bug, remote access shall be not broken in case the drive is sleeping. Also it is known, some forums explain that you shall never put external drives in sleep mode in case this drive used for iTunes Home Sharing [URL]

Jun 23, 2010Alright so I have a problem with iTunes, whenever I try to update or restore any iPhone or iTouch on my computer it will never finish restoring completely. It will get to about 95% progress and then stops and I leave it for hours and it never finishes. I have iTunes 9.2 and have reinstalled it but no luck. I have had to restore my iTouch on a second computer that has no problems.

Jun 3, 2014I wanted to put the "Epson Printer Utility 4" application in my dock bar. So in Finder, I selected File > Find, and set it to "Name" "begins with" "Epson Printer".
Mavericks found the "Epson Printer Finder" application in [Root] / Applications / Epson Software, but it did not find "Epson Printer Utility 4" in [Root] / Library / Printers / EPSON / InkjetPrinter2 / Utility / UT4. As a test, I also tried File > Find for the "World Clock" widget in [Root] / Library / Widgets - also not found.
Both files are fully visible to me, and I have have Admin privileges. I set my Finder preferences to "Search This Mac" when performing a search. I can't find any other preference to have Mavericks really, truly search ALL of This Mac, including the root directory folders.

I have moved ALL my iTunes content (music, videos etc) to the Shared Music folder on my new WD MyBook World Edition 2 (just in case that's relevant info) and everytime my Mac attempts to load iTunes I have to repeatedly direct it to the library.xml file in the Shared Music folder.Surely there's a proper solution for this? Anyone else out there had this experience and has figured it out.I've noticed that it does this only the first time I open iTunes up, any subsequent bootup within a session is fine, but any restart of my Macbook Pro and I have to repeat this.

Dec 17, 2008I'm sorry to say that all was OK until.. I updated OS to 10.5.6 two days ago.. and my external 1T Seagate Freeagent Desktop for Mac stopped mounting on Firewire.
It will mount on USB, it will mount on FW when Mac is restarted, but will not when you boot up after your system was shut down.
I tried to reformat, repair the disk, repair permissions and nothing worked.
Somebody posted that you should disconnect your Firewire stuff before OS update? Is this correct?
Can anyone please suggest anything as I don't want to end up having this HD hooked with USB...
Alternatively how can I revert to the OS before the update? Is restoring from Time Machine the only solution?

Oct 21, 2010My upgrade seems to crash iPhoto and I have not been able to get iPhoto working. When I started iPhoto for the first time after the iLife update it had the usual "this library must be updated to work with this version of iPhoto" (that might not be the exact wording). Thoughtlessly I approved the dialogue as usual. The upgrade process made it through the first quick progress bar, but nearly immediately after starting the second progress bar iPhoto crashed. After restarting my mbp and opening iPhoto I got the same result. I even went so far as to reinstall the new iPhoto. Based on previous issues I tried holding option-command while starting iPhoto to get the rebuild dialogue and again the rebuild crashed iPhoto. Has anyone else been having the same issues or have any insight on how to resolve the issue?
