Websites such as My Excite are not displaying correctly since the Sfari 5.1.4 update. They are fine in Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera are working fine and displaying sites correctly.

My clients say that their Mac which is running Safari 5.1.5 won't open their web site which is: [URL]
I've asked about 5 other people to see if they could open it up on a mac using Safari. So far, everyone can open it except for my client. The site is created with wordpress. It's not redirecting.
I'm really not sure which Mac they have or their operating system. I just chose two so that I could submit this ticket.
What in the world would stop them from being able to see the site? They can go to other sites.

When I visit websites, I constantly have to hit the zoom in button in the Safari menu bar. If I don't do this, there are words that overlap on the page. Is there a way I could make Safari remember my zoom options? I have 18 point selected under the Advanced section of Safari System Preferences. I also use Chrome and Chrome seems to remember my view options.

I've got a 2 year old Macbook running on OS X 10.5.8. I've been having this problem with my computer and it's hard to explain...
I went to go install Google Chrome but then the site reads:
"Your operating system is not supported.
Google Chrome is available for Mac OS X 10.5 or later, Intel only".
I have 10.5 or later and my mac is intel based.
First Safari extensions weren't showing up.I was able to get the extensions tab back, but found the privacy tab won't display. I unknowingly jacked another thread, as I'm new at this, so now am posting my own. I'm running Safari 5.1.5 on OSX Lion, MacBook Pro 2009.

I have a lot of icons in my macbook. when I search through spotlight for finding special icon, it shows images of the all icons same although when I click and preview, it shows the correct icon image. I don't know why it shows the icons incorrectly. please help me what can I do.

I'm running 10.9.4 on a Macbook Pro 2.9 Ghz Intel Core i7 with 8GB RAM. Finder has stopped drawing windows correctly. If I am in Finder and chose New Window in the Archive Meny, a new Window opens, but I don't see anything. Well, I can see something, I see the outlines of the window, the icons at the top and stuff in at the left of the window like favorites, drives, shared network drives, but the I don't see the actual files in the newly opened window.
The windows opens, but I only see what's behind the Finder window. For instance, If I open a new Finder window (like Documents) on top of Safari where I write this post, I'll not see documents but this text I'm writing. I've tried restarting the computer to no avail. I have tried resetting NVRAM/PRAM without success. Thinking if there perhaps is a plist file for this, but I don't know.

I have three icons on my dock that link to application, downloads, and documents. The applications and download icons are a folder and have a little embossed icon in the middle. The documents icon is a set three folders.... I have a screenshot here. I would like to make the documents folder the same as the other two (a single folder icon with the embossing in the middle). On both my other two macs, this is the case. When I open up the icon with "get info" this is the case. I know how to open up the icons using "get info" and use cut and paste to change their appearance. But no matter what I do, it still stays the same, as in the screen shot.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook running Leopard and am having problems with the wireless internet at home. Everything works fine when I take my computer other places - just not at home. The trouble is that while some pages load fine, others do not display correctly or simply don't even load at all. The other computers on this network (all PCs) run fine, so I am guessing that it has something to do with settings on my computer, the router, or both. Unfortunately, though, I have no idea what to try.

I usually keep my music files on my PC and stuff, but since I was thinking of getting rid of it, I transferred all my music files into my MBP. So I transferred it via a USB Drive, and what do you know, iTunes show some of my Korean and Japanese songs with broken-looking weird scribbles. It happens to only certain songs, and I really am confused. As you can see in the attached picture, some displays the correct characters, but some just looks weird. Like the bottom three songs show correctly, but not some of the top ones or the highlighted one.
However, both my iPhone and my iPods in the past showed ALL Korean/Japanese charcaters without a single problem. Is there any language pack that I'll need to be installing? Or is there some kind of encoding within the iTunes? I am currently using the latest build/version of the iTunes on Mac OS X Leopard running on Unibody MacBook Pro 2.53Ghz. The MacBook Pro is also up-to-date with any of the latest updates via Software Update. I should be asking at the iPod and iTunes section I guess, so if it really seems like it's an absolute must that I post in the iTunes section, please let me know.
I bought my MBP yesterday and just got my new wireless internet to work. Everytime I try and get on certain websites (i.e. facebook) it wont open and says it is "invalid" nd the certificate is false. All websites work for the other computers in my house but not mine.

Many are having issues with font smoothing not working correctly on external displays with SL 10.6.
I researched this issue and found this blog posting:

the blog itself discusses the issue, and the fix is found in the comments.
Basically, for now the fix is to open Terminal App and enter:
"defaults -currentHost write -globalDomain AppleFontSmoothing -int 2″
without the quotes, and hit return.
a log out or restart might be required.
this fix seems to stick even after re-boots and shut-downs.
I cant watch some videos on websites where i could usually watch videos before. This happened after I updated to MAC OS X 10.7.4 and a flashback malware removal tool 2 days ago.

Yesterday Apple released Safari 5.0.1 and Magic Trackpad and Multi-Touch Trackpad Update 1.0, but Software Update on my Mac makes me able to download only the first one (Safari 5.0.1) - which I did. Why can't it find the Multi-Touch Trackpad Update?

Sure, I can download it manually, BUT it makes me really annoyed if something on my Mac works not as good as it should.
Certain websites I try to access are unable to display. They give me the "standard" cannot connect to the server error. [URL]. Other computers in the house operating on the same wireless connection can access these sites fine... so I think something is mis-configured on my machine somehow. I've hooked up my 30" Apple Cinema Display to the new iMac 27" and the highest resolution I'm getting as an option is 1280x800... The iMac correctly detects the ACD as a Cinema HD display but limits my resolution. Why oh why?!
After updating OSX from 10.5 to 10.6 my keychain access does not work for all login websites I had setup. Is there a pdf manual for keychain access to download ? I need to setup keychain access so that I don't have to type in my username and password for websites requiring logon.

My safari browser on my iMac hasn't been displaying pages right since yesterday and I cannot figure out whats going on.
I've reseted Safari (cleared cookies, cache) and also tried turning my internet on and off and restarted my mac several times. I've even tried repairing permissions in disk utility.
Firefox and Chrome seem to be working perfectly but Safari will not format the pages the right way, all i mainly get is text unless a picture is linked to another page.
I have the latest version of Safari and am running Snow Leopard 10.6.6

Well for all the main sites I visit with safari they load up fine. But one site and only one doesn't display correctly. It shows up fine in firefox but not in safari. I can use the site alright in safari but I would like it if I could make it display correctly. And I really don't feel like switching over to firefox because I prefer using safari. So is there any way I can fix this issue without having to switch browsers every time I visit the site.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI am a programmer of bussines applications and my company has a program that lets our clients view/alter/attest invoices. It is a part of a larger bussines application suite with an html gui working against a Progress database and it is all running on the clients server. This application suite has been running for a number of years for other clients all of which have been using IE to run it, but we have recently gotten a few clients that want to run it through Safari on their Macbooks and for some reason the program that handles invoices seems to "stall". The program usually opens up the base-gui and then runs a calculation frame (works sort of like a ajax call, only a bit older/simpler inhouse version) that collects the data from the database and then inserts data in the various iframes, displaying tables, enabeling buttons, that sort of thing. As far as I can tell from the screenshots that our client has sent us the basic layout opens up, but then nothing else happens. No tables get displayed and no buttons gets enabled, so it seems that the calculation frame is not running for some reason or other.
This problem however only occurs on this and one other users computers that I am aware of. I have confirmed that the program in itself is written according to standard and it runs just fine through Firefox and Safari on both PC and Mac when I have tested it on a couple of different locations. We have ofc tested it in our own environments and also by logging in to our problem-experiencing-clients own account and installation through both Safari (3.2.1) and Firefox (3.0.4) on both PC's and Macs opening up the exact same programs with exactly the same invoices and we never encounter any problems whatsoever. All the tests that we have done leads me to conclude that the actual programming of the application is solid and that the trouble must be with the clients own setup seeing as how it only ever seems to occur there. The problem is ofc that I don't know my hand from my elbow when it comes to Mac and Safari and as such I don't have any idea *how* to troubleshoot it or where the problem might occur. It could be anything from her internet connection/firewall/browser setup/internet options or whatever as far as I know. Unfortunately the Client is quite a far away, so it is quite difficult for me to check her setup first hand and she is not very computer literate so it is also difficult to get much useful information out of her.
What I know about about her setup so far is this:
- She is using a Macbook Air that she bought last spring (2008) and it is her own personal computer.
- She updated the Safari installation at her local apple store a week ago.
- She has tried installing Firefox and got the same problem there.
- She was unable to find a version of IE that works with her OSX so she has been unable to test it with that browser.
- She says that her internet connection is "wireless broadband" and she hasn't really said anything more about it than that (I doubt she knows or cares about the specifics about such things unfortunately).
- As far as firewalls go I have no idea what she is using, but I doubt very much that she would use anything that wasn't pre-installed on the box when she got it.
I'm running MAC OS X version 10.3.9 on an iMAC (1.8GHz).
Lately I've noticed that when safari loads (Safari 1.3.2 (V312.6)) certain web pages, they either load only partially or not at all. Some pages flash constantly. I'm also seeing a pop up window that states that "safari can't open the page .... because it cannot establish a secure connection to server...."
With IE, certain websites bring up the message "the application internet explorer has unexpectedly quit. The system and other applications have not been affected."
So far, I have attempted changing the firewall settings, security settings to no avail.
I run an internet connection with connexus that otherwise appears to function properly.
Prior to the above, there seemed to be no major issues with my iMAC.
