View 6 RepliesI put "levelwidget" on the dashboard - it is supposed to make a macbook into a Level. Sounded interesting...now I regret! The widget is corrupted and now when I try to open the dashboard it immediately closes and gives me an error message "you can't open the application motion because power pc applications are no longer supported" How do I delete this widget so I can open the dashboard. I've tried to look up the file, but can't seem to find dashboard widget files.

I have had my mighty mouse for a couple months and it has worked great on my macbook. Just recently the middle button won't open up the dashboard and the two side buttons go through spaces instead of exposing all windows. In system proferences under mouse and spaces both are set for the middle button to open the dashboard and the side buttons to expose all windows but they don't do that. It could be an easy fix but I don't know what else to try?
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs it normal when you open up dashboard and some widgets are displaced? My weather widget is not in same place as where I put it and it overlaps some other widgets. I know I can just move it back but is this normal?

View 5 Replies View RelatedBecause Adobe hasn't the Ballz to release a 64-bit version of Flash Player to all platforms, any application that runs in 64-bit and utilizes Flash will have to use the WebKitPluginHost to cater to Adobe's.32-bitness. This means Dashboard now consumes MUCH more resources than in Leopard. I made a Pandora Webclip back in 2007 and it has been FLAWLESS over the years, until Snow Leopard. My only hangup is, Dashboard only opens in 32-bit mode during the first uptime that I have checked "Open in 32-bit Mode". After a restart, it opens in 64-bit mode, EVEN while the same option is checked.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've poured over these boards in hopes to finding a solution as to why my dashboard won't open. It literally stopped working mid day, one day when I went to return to get a number off of my sticky note in my dashboard. I have tried posting the different lists from my preferences page, however, am unable to get the docments to actually drag to my desktop. I'm not sure if there are any other solutions, but was hoping to find a quick fix as opposed to traveling 2 hours to the nearest genius bar. Any help would be awesome!!

I finally go around to upgrading to 10.5 from 10.4. One thing that struck me was that I could no longer copy to the clipboard the result of the computation in the Dashboard's calculator widget. Something I could do under 10.4
I can paste into it. I can copy/paste/cut in the Stickies application. But I can't copy out of the Calculator.I opened up the .html and .js files for the widget and yes there is a handler for the copy event but its not getting invoked.
How do I delete from dashboard?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have Office 2008 Home and Student installed on my MBP. I recently upgraded to a hosted Exchange solution and they offer a download of Entourage 2008 that will allow Exchange Server interaction. When I loaded that version over top of my install, Entourage will not open. It gives me an error about the identity not being able to open the item.
I am convinced my user profile has some sort of error. There are programs I cannot open on that profile but can open on another tested one.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am completely unable to open any PDF with my new MacBook Pro, which is running Leopard (OS X 10.5.1). Preview doesn't work, Safari doesn't work, QuickTime doesn't work. If I must uninstall and clean install, I'd really appreciate any guidance anyone could give about this process. For instance, will I lose everything that's stored in my programs (i.e., all my personal files, preferences, and emails) when I uninstall? And what's the best way to go about backing up my info, uninstalling, and installing?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony dictaphone which is great. Sad thing is, they use a retarded format called MSV, which technically is very good, but the thing is, Mac is unable to open it. I tried with iTunes and Quicktime, none of them works. I searched google, but found only five year old forumposts about it. Hopefully, it's possible to download a codec plugin for Mac OSX Leopard.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a few .m3u playlist files I created on a pc, but when I try to open them in VLC or Itunes they won't open. In Itunes absolutely nothing happens when trying to open the file. In VLC I get a couple errors. One is a 'File reading failed' and the other is 'Your input can't be opened' for each file it tries to read from the playlist. Any playlists created on the Mac work fine. Any ideas on getting the PC created lists to work though?

I want to tell it to open it up so I can see it, but we don't seem to speak the same language.

having read all the posts about the superdrive failures, mine seems to have died although it is a strange one. It's a Pioneer 107D and it reads, writes, and ejects if a disk is in it (sometimes)...however it will not open (without my trusty paperclip) from keyboard, fkey, drag disk to trash, startup with mouse button held, etc. etc. Terminal mode (drutil etc.) says drive is ok as does About my Mac. I can hear the mechanical attempts to open, but only the ol' paperclip seems to do the job. Any thoughts??? If I replace it are there any thoughts as to what people find reliable? I am thinking Litescribe at the moment (I do not "need" DL or BluRay).

Lately I have tried to download program installers for mac that are either in .bin or .hqx format. However, after I download the files and try to open them, strange things happen. With the .bin files, Excel tries to open them, and they just look like programming language crammed into the cells, so that's no help. With the .hqx files, I receive an error message saying that the computer doesn't know which program to use to open the file. How do I fix this problem?
View 17 Replies View RelatedSo I've been thinking about how i am going to be using my new MBA as my main machine for a couple of months and i currently use an external monitor with it.
The MBA is advertised to run an external, such as an ACD.
I jut looked at the ports and i find it really strange that the MagSafe connector is on the left, but the mini display port is on the right... Now you will have cables on both sides? How does this work with the set of MagSafe + display port + USB in an ACD? I don't think they are long enough to go around? Or would you have to plus in the other MagSafe and just use the right side for display port and USB. That is silly though.
I use an external webcam with Msn messenger 8. But when I click on video, it says that the webcam I use is not functional because my lid is closed of course connecting my mbp to an external display. There is no place where I can choose to use the external webcam that works fine in all the other programs?
I think the MSN team are like the slowest idiots on earth. No offline message again!
i have a ppt saved on my pendrive which i got saved from windows as (.pptm) but now when i tried opening it on my macbook it shows a message (CORPORATE GOVERNANCE org..pptm could not be handled because Keynote cannot open files in the ZIP archive format).
