So why exactly does this "Open in Dashboard" feature still exist in Safari? I haven't gotten it to ever work properly any time I tried to use it. Is there still any actual use for this or did Apple just forget about it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI put "levelwidget" on the dashboard - it is supposed to make a macbook into a Level. Sounded interesting...now I regret! The widget is corrupted and now when I try to open the dashboard it immediately closes and gives me an error message "you can't open the application motion because power pc applications are no longer supported" How do I delete this widget so I can open the dashboard. I've tried to look up the file, but can't seem to find dashboard widget files. Â

View 2 Replies View RelatedBecause Adobe hasn't the Ballz to release a 64-bit version of Flash Player to all platforms, any application that runs in 64-bit and utilizes Flash will have to use the WebKitPluginHost to cater to Adobe's.32-bitness. This means Dashboard now consumes MUCH more resources than in Leopard. I made a Pandora Webclip back in 2007 and it has been FLAWLESS over the years, until Snow Leopard. My only hangup is, Dashboard only opens in 32-bit mode during the first uptime that I have checked "Open in 32-bit Mode". After a restart, it opens in 64-bit mode, EVEN while the same option is checked.

It literally stopped working mid day, one day when I went to return to get a number off of my sticky note in my dashboard. I have tried posting the different lists from my preferences page, however, am unable to get the docments to actually drag to my desktop. I'm not sure if there are any other solutions, but was hoping to find a quick fix as opposed to traveling 2 hours to the nearest genius bar. Any help would be awesome!!

My dashboard widgets froze -- open on screen. I had to close each widget.Now I now longer have one-click pop up of my selected widgets.I get a beep when I click the dashboard icon. I have to click the plus sign and open individual widgets.

This morning my Entourage mail worked just fine, this afternoon, I try to open it and "could not open that feature, mail error." I have tried to rebuild the database by holding down the option key at launch and selecting both the typical and advanced rebuilds and neither one will go - the rebuild never starts. I am on a PowerBook G4, running MS Office 10.1.4. I am so frustrated - I get the mail dialogue box, but I can't see messages in my in box. I can sometimes see emails that have been filed, but it is not consistent.

Is there a way to disable the �pinch open and close� feature on a MBP trackpad? I swear, it�s going to put me in therapy. Every time I need to scroll through massive spreadsheets for work, if my fingers separate by even a hair, the trackpad reads it as a pinch, then the document suddenly balloons to massive proportion or shrinks to infinitesimally tiny print. Seems there ought to be a simple way to turn the thing off, but for the life of me, I can�t find it.

My understanding is that you size the box around something and then go to ADD, whereby it should take you to the dashboard. In my case I hit ADD and it does nothing. Just recently the middle button won't open up the dashboard and the two side buttons go through spaces instead of exposing all windows. In system proferences under mouse and spaces both are set for the middle button to open the dashboard and the side buttons to expose all windows but they don't do that. It could be an easy fix but I don't know what else to try?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI love safari. Its fast, looks great, and does everything I want it to. Outside of poor flash support (I hear macs in general are just bad for flash) everything works. What I don't like in safari is the top sites feature. I don't mind that it keeps track of which websites i visit most often, but I hate how it takes a little snapshot of every website and saves it in the website preview folder in the cache.
I didn't know you had to manually delete it and when I did it was taking up over 1.5 gb of space (/user/library/caches/com.apple.safari/website previews). I don't understand why apple couldn't have just made top sites show your most commonly visited website (like chrome or opera) and instead had to take on the website previews. Is there a way to disable top sites or at least prevent it from saving previews of websites everytime I use it?
My favorite aspect of the browser so far. Really makes many articles to read a pleasure with a smooth font and layout.

I just installed Safari 3.2.1 and find that I have no operable Back- Forward browse feature.
The buttons are there but always grayed out as if no previous page existed. Too, when I right click on a web page I no longer get "back" as a default. It comes up "reload" no matter where on the page I click. Finally, when I view History the only link displayed is the page that I am on. To get to a previous page I must select "Earlier Today". I DO NOT have Private Viewing selected.
What gives? This is a primary feature. lacking it makes it very difficult to use the browser.
I have always used Firefox, but I am finally getting used to Safari. There are a lot if cool features that Firefox doesn't have. In Firefox, I could start typing my usernames and it would automatically fill it in. How do I get Safari to do this? I don't want Safari to remember my passwords, just the usernames so I don't have to type them each time I log in.
