I cannot remove my signature from my outgoing mail. Under the Mail tab, preferences does not send me to a signature option, only mailbox behaviors, etc.I created one about 2 years ago and it is no longer applicable, so I must delete it off every email I send because I cannot find the link to cancel it permanently.

I can change that on a new email but that will work only once; in the next email the signagture is again "sent from iCloud". Is it possible to create a new default signatute? Is it possible to create this new signature in color?

My mail server is Aol and I get my mail ok through the mail application but when i try to send it it comes back and says it can't be sent. I eventually am able to send it using gmail but it only occasionally goes out using aol.  It's not an aol issue because when I go online to aol I don't have this issue. I suppose it's something in my settings but I can't figure it out.Â

Until last night everything was working fine. Mails comming in and going out.
I have'nt made any changes of some kind, but somehow the mail just doenst go out anymore.
The program doesn't give an error message , the outgoing mail just sticks in the box outgoing.....?Â

I'm trying to put a small image into one of my standard signatures for outgoing mail. In the Mail.app pref pane this works fine. Just drag the image into the field and its there. However, when I send an email with the signature at the bottom, the image is just received as an attachment. Is there a way to "embed" the image into the signature and subsequently the email? The image is a 60kb jpg image by the way.
I'm recently reintroduced to Macs after living in PC land for 20 years. Haven't found a capability to have an email signature that only posts to "new" mails, or "forwards" in chain. Outlook has the capability to not add signature in replies - is there something similar in Mac?

Using Tiger (10.4.11) & Apple Mail. My home server suggested Port 587, but no help there from that. Diagnostics suggested changing to different server address, also no help. This problem happens whenever I travel away from home & do not use my home server.
I've set up my mail account perfectly down to the last detail in Mail. At first there was no problems. Now it doesnt want to send outgoing mail, why is this? Everything is in perfect order, nothing is changed. I just have to try a gazillion times to hit the "send" button before it works.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have experienced problems with a POP outgoing server for some time on both my MacBook and IMac - incoming is OK. I have contacted the service provider and they say that all codes and log-in details are correct and that they can send from Webmail server ( and so can I). I can also use the outgoing server on my iPhone so it suggests that something is wrong in the settings on the iMac and MacBook - but they are correct and the same as the iPhone.I notice that this server shows 'offline' in th setting box - is this a clue?. I have not found anyway of making this server go on-line.

I switched to Mavericks OS. Now, when I'm sending one (1) e-mail to one (1) e-mail address, for instance, I'm receiving a strange message under the outgoing mail progress bar (left bottom part of Mail finder window): "Outgoing Mails: 3 out of 3" or similar strange numbers but usually different form the number of recipients.

In the mail program the signature appears in every message I type even when i reply. Can I change this so that it does not appear at the bottom of the message when I reply, as it is appearing right down the bottom of the emails.
If not, what is a better email client to use on the mac, perhaps thunderbird?
I am having difficulty with the Mail signature function. I have been able to make one however I am having the following problems:
- When I add an attachment the images I have (business logo and signature) also attach as an attachment and are removed from the body of the email.
- The images do not show all the time when I send these to my business email.
Today, after using a signature in Apple Mail for the past few months, I discovered that my signature is HUGE when read by non Apple Mail users and that the text in my emails is in Times New Roman even though I set it to Helvectia by default.
Turns out this is a problem in Apple Mail, as setting a default font only affects what YOU see, not what the email recipient sees. This seems backwards to me. My emails have apparently been all unorganized for months now. I've sent out job applications thinking I had a sleek format...
Anyways, researching this, I read nearly every post in this google search, but still don't understand how to fix the problem. Apparently there's one "fix" involving stationary, and another fix where you begin typing right at the beginning of the sig...?
Can anyone tell me how to make my emails that I send from Apple Mail show up for my recipients in Helvectia and have the signature be in the same font size and Helvectia as well ? And no, clicking the "always match my default message font" button didn't do this, just in case.
I have a signature set up in Apple Mail with an image. When I send an email to a PC user, they do not see my signature in the body of the email. The signature is viewed as an attachment. Is there anyway to resolve this in Apple Mail? I know if I set the signature to plain txt instead of rtf this works, but then I can't have a fancy image signature. If I move across to Entourage, will this solve it? Is it a limitation on Apple Mail's side?

I want to create a colourful signature in Mac Mail but I can't figure out how to use different fonts and colours within the same signature. All I have managed to do is change the default font for all my email messages. Could someone please explain where the font formatting controls are for signatures?

I'm having such a hard time syncing Gmail with Apple Mail now that I've done a fresh install of SL. First of all, in Gmail Settings, the instructions for setting up Apple Mail are for Apple Mail 3.0. But the Apple Mail with SL is 4.0. The instructions say to "Check the box next to Automatically set up your account." Pic of what I'm talking about: But my Apple Mail does not have that check box: Once it's setup it says it's supposed to look like this: Notice that it's POP and not IMAP? And in mine, once it's "automatically setup" it's IMAP and not POP: When I leave the settings as is, and try to send and receive mail I keep getting an error that says something like "Can't send mail on outgoing mail server". And when I change the outgoing server to POP I get the same error. I've tried everything, I've setup and deleted this e-mail account from Apple Mail at least 4 times now and I keep getting the same error.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI'm running Mail on a G5 with 10.4.11, and have had Gmail, GoDaddy and .mac mail pushed through and sent out easily--until now. We switched to Fios, and while receiving mail is no problem, outgoing mail is terrible.
I have tried every possible outgoing mail server address in the Mail account preferences: the Gmail, GoDaddy and .mac ones, also outgoing.verizon.net. They all work sporadically. There seems to be lots of discussion of this problem out there, but no answer.
