ICloud :: Outgoing SMTP For It?
May 4, 2012iCloud is now functioning on my MacBook (OS 10.7 Lion), iPhone, but not the iMac (OS 10.6.8 Snow Leopard). I converted from MobileMe. Incoming mail functions with iCloud on the iMac, but I am not able to connect to Outgoing and therefore unable to send outgoing Mail from this computer. The Mail Connection Doctor in Mail Preferences indicates that I am connected to an outgoing SMTP account in Mail. I manually added smtp.iCloud.com.(name). but to no avail. So therefore two questions that may resolve this issue:
(1) what is the correct smtp address for iCloud?
(2) does the iCloud server support SSL? Please note that I have no idea of what SSL is, but the Mail Connection Doctor advised that I check this out.

I can change that on a new email but that will work only once; in the next email the signagture is again "sent from iCloud". Is it possible to create a new default signatute? Mar 21, 201245 minutes ago I went to check my mail on my computer and my inbox is empty! There was mail in it an hour ago, and then it just disappeared. I didn't change or move anything, the inbox was just empty. I then checked my sent box and all my sent emails were there, checked back 5 minutes later and their gone! The emails in my deleted and junk folders are still there. I checked online through icloud.com and Inbox and sent mail are empty there too, as well as my phone.

May 15, 2012I am now experisenicng the following error message in Mail on my macbook. I am running Lion and it is updated but my icloud emails won't come in.
the following message appears:
"There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “iCloud” or try again.
The server returned the error: Mail was unable to connect to server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” using SSL on port 993. Verify that this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct."
I have checked the password and all other settings and they are all correct so I dont know why this is now suddenly happening.

ICloud On Mac :: Incoming Emails Vanishing
Dec 10, 2014Recently upgraded to Yosemite. Multiple times a day, I get the 'ding' that tells me that I have email, and see the little notification appear in the upper right corner of my screen. Then when I go to Mail to check the email... nothing. Not in Junk, Trash, Inbox, or anywhere. A few times I have managed to see who the email was from, and did a search, and it turned up nothing. the messages are not visible in my phone, on iCloud, or on my laptop. I am worried that important messages are disappearing before I can read them. I've rebuilt my mailbox to no avail. If I didn't hear the ding and see the notification appear, I would never even know I was receiving mail. Its not all messages, most get through, but it seems to be happening more and more, I have over 12 gb of storage on iCloud, so that isn't the issue.
