In mail.app I have it setup to use 2 email accounts, one is my personal email account and the other is my business account. How do I set it so that when I create a new email it'll always default to being sent my personal email account rather than my business account?

Outlook Mail. I just recently set up two new email acounts to my mail. They worked perfectly for two days then yesterday, at random my outgoing mail stopped working (incoming still works). Â
Both of these accounts are"Exchange" accounts. As of now when I look in my availabe "Outoing Servers" it doesn't show that I have any. How to configure it to my exchange accounts.

I can't add a new outgoing smtp server in Mail preferences. I keep getting this message: "The servers marked with alert icons are in conflict and cannot be saved. Two servers cannot share the same address and authentication settings. Resolve the conflicts and try again." The incoming and outgoing server addresses for this ISP are the same, which may be the problem. Both are mail.myglnc.com.

I only use the college email account because my school sends all of their stuff through it so I need to monitor it. For some reason however, this account has become the default account that Mail wants to send through. To use the other account I have to click the drop down menu under the subject field. This happens even though my main account is the top account on that drop down menu. I have looked through all the preferences and cannot see where I can choose a default sending account.

A freshly created account under 10.7.4. is a Admin account by default. The checkbox "Allow user to administer this computer" is grayed out. I end up with an Admin account and there is no way to convert this account into a Standard account. Facts: 10.7.4 - clean install on a current iMac i5 Freshly created account uses name of a deleted older account (my name)Repaired permissions several times (disk utility and "resetpassword utility" via terminal and safe boot)The older account had been relocated to a external disc for security reasons. I have more than one email account set up on Mail and the strangest thing happens and I can't find out how to stop it.
Here is the problem:
- I have 2 accounts, 'Account A' is for my partner & 'Account B' is for me.
- Someone sends an email to 'Account A' (my partner) and CCs 'Account B' (me) into the same eMail.
- If I click reply from 'Account B' it sends the eMail from 'Account A' which is my partner, when it should be from me.
I have worked out that this is because 'Account A' was originally sent the eMail in The 'To' field as opposed to the 'CC' field in composing the reply eMail. I know that I can manually change the 'From' field every time when replying to an eMail but it becomes an nuisance. I forget to do it when quickly replying as I consider Mail to reply from the account that I'm reading the email from.
I have gone to the compose section in the preferences and there is an option for changing this when composing a new email but nothing when replying.
My mail server is Aol and I get my mail ok through the mail application but when i try to send it it comes back and says it can't be sent. I eventually am able to send it using gmail but it only occasionally goes out using aol.  It's not an aol issue because when I go online to aol I don't have this issue. I suppose it's something in my settings but I can't figure it out.Â

Using Tiger (10.4.11) & Apple Mail. My home server suggested Port 587, but no help there from that. Diagnostics suggested changing to different server address, also no help. This problem happens whenever I travel away from home & do not use my home server.
I've set up my mail account perfectly down to the last detail in Mail. At first there was no problems. Now it doesnt want to send outgoing mail, why is this? Everything is in perfect order, nothing is changed. I just have to try a gazillion times to hit the "send" button before it works.

I have contacted the service provider and they say that all codes and log-in details are correct and that they can send from Webmail server ( and so can I). I can also use the outgoing server on my iPhone so it suggests that something is wrong in the settings on the iMac and MacBook - but they are correct and the same as the iPhone.I notice that this server shows 'offline' in th setting box - is this a clue?. I have not found anyway of making this server go on-line.

I switched to Mavericks OS. Now, when I'm sending one (1) e-mail to one (1) e-mail address, for instance, I'm receiving a strange message under the outgoing mail progress bar (left bottom part of Mail finder window): "Outgoing Mails: 3 out of 3" or similar strange numbers but usually different form the number of recipients.

I'm having such a hard time syncing Gmail with Apple Mail now that I've done a fresh install of SL. First of all, in Gmail Settings, the instructions for setting up Apple Mail are for Apple Mail 3.0. But the Apple Mail with SL is 4.0. The instructions say to "Check the box next to Automatically set up your account." Pic of what I'm talking about: But my Apple Mail does not have that check box: Once it's setup it says it's supposed to look like this: Notice that it's POP and not IMAP? And in mine, once it's "automatically setup" it's IMAP and not POP: When I leave the settings as is, and try to send and receive mail I keep getting an error that says something like "Can't send mail on outgoing mail server". And when I change the outgoing server to POP I get the same error. I've tried everything, I've setup and deleted this e-mail account from Apple Mail at least 4 times now and I keep getting the same error.
