I just replaced the hard drive in my iMac with a 3 tigabyte hard drive, so I have been updating all kinds of software, etc. Instead of Foxfire, I have been using Safari when I'm on the web. When I start a general search for information, my search engine changes from Google to Bing, and I'm not sure what setting I need to keep Google from being replaced by Bing?

I downloaded paint and it automatically downloaded tuneupmymac, after that, whenever i look something up on the internet using chrome safari or firefox, it will always search in bing. also i have a new option in the menu bar called develop, this has never been here before. After some Google trawling, I can't seem to find any answers to this question, so here goes nothing:
The 'Artist' bar on the left of the iTunes 9 interface will jump back up to the top of its scrollbar every time you click on an artist in it, and often when I select an artist that requires any scrolling to get to it it immediately jumps to the top of the list and thinks I clicked on one of those artists.
This has basically crippled my music browsing, or at least made it insanely annoying, so a fix would be nice.
I've tried trashing all the preferences and rebooting, to no avail.
How can I get rid of Bing? It was attached to something else I downloaded and now every time I click something, an ad pops up.

I've read some reports lately that Apple has signed a contract with Bing and this is why Bing is now the default engine when searching. I've tried to make my default Google (as this is a much better search engine - personal opinion) - but it continues to default to Bing. How do I stop this?

I was doing a search tonight and noticed that it bounced over to Google. I have Bing as my default search engine in my Safari preferences. As a test, I changed my default to Yahoo and the same thing happened. I closed out Safari and started it up again. When I entered some search criteria in the field, it showed the words "--Bing Search" just like before, but Google then took over. How can I fix this?

I am having a issue with Address Book where I enter my Google login info, it seems to connect just fine, but when I close out of preferences and then the app and relaunch it will no longer be connected. The checkmark box for Google syncing becomes unchecked and everything.It was working fine for a while but I recently opened a new Gmail account and have wanted to sync with that one instead. For some reason now neither of the accounts will stay connected.

I can access Google without a problem when I boot Win 7. I have tried restarting my ASDL modem/router. This was all working fine until a few days ago. I haven't made any networking-related changes in last few days.Here's what's happening. In Chrome 7.0.517.44 I can make an initial search from the search/address bar. All the content will appear but the page will never finish loading. A request for generate_204 from clients1.google.com.au never completes. Then I can cannot make any other Google requests without explicitly stopping the browser. Sometimes stopping the browser doesn't work and I have to quit it and start it again, then I can make another initial request, and the cycle repeats.

"Unable to connect" etc. etc. Every other site that I normally go to works fine. I'm pretty sure I don't have the virus because I didn't install flashplayer pkg. I also ran the check to find out if I had accidently ran the pkg with negative results. That being said I also read some of the answers to similar problems and ran a few checks on my own. I opened my network configuration and renewed my DHCP lease, restarted my cable moden and my router. I recently upgraded to Mavericks. I have Startup Items set to launch Activity Monitor and have the Hide checkbox checked, but the window keeps appear at login.
All of the other apps set in a similar manner work just fine (i.e., they start and their windows say hidden)Â ... Why Hide does not mean "Hide" for this one app?

I have had a recurring problem with filing mail:I am trying to file all email messages onto my iCloud folders on my mail. Â
1. When i file mail into a folder into won't stay in the folder. It comes back into my inbox.
Furthermore, if it does file messages (which is sporadic) then the messages will go into the folder but someones a copy will also reappear back in my inbox)Â
2. When i delete emails: the appear back in my inbox even though i have deleted them.Â
I do not receive an error message when this happens, the emails just pop back up & into my mailboxÂ
How I can do a work around to get message to stay in the folder i want them? Due to this issue my inbox has over 4000 emails in the inbox and i really need to file documents away.
I am operating on OS X 10.9.3 (13D65) and all my updates are up to date!
So I am not sure what happened. But recently all of a sudden anytime I go to highlight something it does not show it being highlighted.Â
I recently removed the program sideeffects from my computer that puts color icons back in the finder as I thought that was the cause of the issue but it never went away.Â
