May 16, 2012I have the new 1080p Apple TV and have converted videos using Hand Brake (with the old Apple TV preset). My problem is that when I drag these videos into my iTunes library on my Mac, they don't show up in the Movies or TV Shows sections, but then when I go to Computers -> Movies -> Unknown Genre on the Apple TV, the videos show up there. If I go back to iTunes on my Mac and go to Movies, that movie isn't showing up even if I turn on the Column Browser and look at the All section. Is it possible that I'm making videos that are compatible with the Apple TV but not iTunes? I don't get any error messages or any indication that the file got added to the library. The video in question is an M4V, with "H.264, AAC, AC3" listed under codecs in Finder's Get Info, 1280x720, 2,083 total bit rate. I'm on Lion and have everything up to date.

Jun 30, 2014I am a Mac user under the latest software.
We are using via the google cloud word documents that we can share with PC users.
I marked on my mac in the cloud the tags to different documents. I see them visible next to the file once in a time in the color that i used. If i look under icon tags on my toolbar i see the color label active.
All my other users work on windows, and they do not see my tags. Is there a way we can make that happens for everybody and that the tags stays next to the document file.Â
OS X Mavericks :: WinXP Pro Bootcamp Partition Visible But Unbootable
Sep 6, 2014I recently upgraded my Macbook Pro (2008 with gray keypad) which had snow leopard and was running winxp with bootcamp to mavericks and now when I try to start my winxp it begins to start but then I get the "do you want to start in safe mode" screen and when I ask to start in any of the modes winxp will begin to start with the WinXp logo showing and the blue bar moving across the the screen and then there is brief (microseconds) flash of the "Blue screen" after which the computer restarts.  What can I do to get my WinXp working again?

Jun 3, 2009I have a first gen Mac Pro with a 20" Apple Cinema Display connected to it. I always leave my computer in, but I let my display sleep. My display will go to sleep fine but it will wake up randomly and then fall back asleep again after the time interval. This has been going on for a long time but it's starting to really bother me.

OS X Mavericks :: Extra Data Partition For Windows In BootCamp Is Not Visible
Dec 6, 2014I created a new Boot Camp partition with Windows 7 Ultimate on my MacBook Pro (i7, 2.8 Ghz, 750 GB HD) running Mavericks 10.9.5. The 2 disks were about 70 GB (Mac side) and 680 GB (Windows side). I wanted to create an extra, data partition and created it after having installed Windows. I used IPartition to do this and resized the Windows partition to about 90 GB and created an empty partition and formatted it with IPartition as Microsoft NTFS.
Now, when I boot into Windows I cannot see the empty data partition: but it's visible and mounted when I boot into Mac side.Â
I tried to to create new volume on empty space with Windows Disk management but got this warning and canceled that operation fearing that that would mess up the booting into Mac or Windows or both:Â How can I get that empty partition visible in Windows?Â

OS X Mavericks :: BOOTCAMP Partition Not Visible In Finder - Not Mountable In Disk Utility
Sep 3, 2014Did a fresh Bootcamp install of Windows 7 on my MBA running 10.9.4, switched back and forth a few times and now the BOOTCAMP partition doesn't show up in the left pane in Finder. I hopped into Disk Utility to see what was going on and it was there, just not mounted, so I clicked mount, was told it couldn't be mounted, and it suggested I run first aid on it. I clicked Verify, nothing useful to me, then Repair, and got quite a lot of feedback that I do not understand, and then after that it was still unmountable.Â
I tried to copy everything it said into a pastebin because it was very long with lots of starting and stopping and counting percents inbetween, but it was over 500kb and that's the limit for free users on pastebin, so here's a trimmed version. [URL] .... I tried booting into Windows after that, and it jumped into System Repair. Apparently, according to Windows, my Boot Manager is missing or corrupt... and since I still can't access it from the Mac side of things, I thought I'd just wipe the partition in BootCamp Utility and start over.
Except instead, I get this error: "Your disk could not be restored to a single partition.An error occurred while restoring the disk to a single partition."Â
Disk Utility let me wipe it but I still can't mount it, either, again suggesting I run first aid on it (this does nothing). I can't boot into the Mac's Recovery mode either. It just jumps straight to Internet Recovery. When I hold option upon boot, all three partitions show up (Mac, Recovery, Windows), but when I click the recovery one it loads for a bit and then the laptop just instantly shuts off.... Have I corrupted my internal harddrive perchance?

I have had a recurring problem with filing mail:I am trying to file all email messages onto my iCloud folders on my mail. Â
1. When i file mail into a folder into won't stay in the folder. It comes back into my inbox.
Furthermore, if it does file messages (which is sporadic) then the messages will go into the folder but someones a copy will also reappear back in my inbox)Â
2. When i delete emails: the appear back in my inbox even though i have deleted them.Â
I do not receive an error message when this happens, the emails just pop back up & into my mailboxÂ
How I can do a work around to get message to stay in the folder i want them? Due to this issue my inbox has over 4000 emails in the inbox and i really need to file documents away.
I am operating on OS X 10.9.3 (13D65) and all my updates are up to date!
Safari :: Can't Stay Logged Into Sites After Navigating Away
Mar 2, 2012I have a Macbook Pro(2009) with Safari Version 5.1.2 and I can't stay logged into websites. For example.... If I'm logged into facebook, I then navigate to google and then back to facebook, I will then be logged out. Now before you say it, yes, I check the keep me logged in buttons on sites and this is not even close to being exclusive to facebook, just merely an example. This also occurs if I stay on the web page I'm signed in on then open up, lets say, itunes. When I then go back to the webpage, I'm signed out again. This is rediculously frustrating. It makes safari completely unusable with any application or with multiple webpages. I usually love safari and never wanted to switch to any other browser but I don't think I can hold out much longer with this.

Apr 17, 2010Yesterday my mac (powerbook, running on 10.4.11) froze and after I reset it, Safari doesn't seem to load any pages, it just stays in a "loading" state. Firefox, however, seems to be working fine (as does Mail) so it appears to be a problem with Safari. I tried the following:
1) Restart computer
2) Reset safari
3) Use some dns changer remover utility (saw this in another post, and downloaded utility from CNET, but it failed to find any issues).

Jun 28, 2014I have recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and am now having problem with my hp 4500 office jet printer. The print icon tends to stay on the dock after the print job is done and then mess up the print queue. Even worse if I forget to cancel it manually then when I put the computer on 'sleep' the printer starts up again and the whole job is rerun unless I get to cancel it quickly on the printer! Â
It does not always do this (the print icon disappearing as it should do), but for 90% of the time it does.Â

OS X Mavericks :: On Restart Have To Sign In To Apple ID For Every App
Dec 7, 2014Every time I restart I have to sign in to apple id for every app! Since upgrading to Mavericks, every time I restart my MacBook (Mid 2010) or open any Apple software i.e. iTunes etc, I'm prompted (3 or 4 times per application) to sign in to my AppleID account.
I then get a prompt for all other Apple software i.e. iBooks, Mail, iPhoto & iMessage etc etc regardless of which app I initially opened. This results in inputting my AppleID upto 20-30 times for every restart. I thought the problem might rectify when I upgraded to Yosemite but it still happens.Â
I've tried running Onyx and clearing all the caches etc, SMART status checked, HDD no errors...I have reset my Apple ID and used it to sign in via Macbook, iPhone etc.MacBook (Mid 2010) Yosemite 10.10.1
