Anyway can anyone tell me how to switch between google and yahoo in my search engine?

Is there a keyboard shortcut for switching search engines in Safari's search box (I believe Chrome had this feature before they got rid of the search box in the latest version)? The arrow on the left-hand side is cumbersome.

I clicked on a link on Facebook and now my search engine is 'only search' which seems to be showing loads of adverts instead of information. How can I uninstall this and revert to google as my search engine?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo it's great they fixed Glims so quickly for Safari 4, but I can't get it to work with the added search engines thing. Anyone else having this issue? Any idea how to fix it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have only recently discovered that mac is by far better than microsoft. However, I have always been fond of firefox, and especially the search toolbar where you could add search engines as google books, google scholar, jstor, project muse etc. to. Does Safari have the offer the same opportunities? I have wasted over two hours to find out, but was unable to find it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAll of my search engines are not working. Google, yahoo Bing...Even GMail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI manually put a couple of sites into the top sites area.. but then even after 'pinning' them into the sites area, they disappear when i re open safari.. it's really bugging me. can anyone help me out with this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was trying to add a Glims custom search engine for MacRumors forums. However, the search URL doesn't actually have the search terms in it, it comes up as [URL:...] with a string of numbers at the end. As a result, the standard Glims method of making new engines doesn't work. Does anyone know of a way to make this work?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am unable to use the search window on the right to get results when Google is selected as the search engine.I type in a search term and I am directed to a blank google search page. I have to type in the search term again, then I see a list of "hits". But when
I click on one of these hits I am not directed to the URL displayed. I have quit out of Safari and relaunched. I have rebooted my Mac. Neither changes the problem... This is a Google problem: I have the same symptoms when I use Safari on Windows XP. When I switch the search engine to Bing, the problems go away, for both platforms Has Google been hacked? Is this a Google attack on Safari? How can I enter GoGoDuck as a search engine choice?

Previously the solution was to install Safari plugins Inquisitor or Glims but Apple have removed the interfaces from Safari 4 that these plugins used - and there is still no built in Safari Preference to set the locale of the Google search. Effectively this renders the Safari Google Search field pretty well useless - at least for UK users. If you're searching for UK-based businesses or individuals, for example, the thousands of USA results that come up first are just not relevant - (that's an example of British Understatement. by the way
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook Pro(2009) with Safari Version 5.1.2 and I can't stay logged into websites. For example.... If I'm logged into facebook, I then navigate to google and then back to facebook, I will then be logged out. Now before you say it, yes, I check the keep me logged in buttons on sites and this is not even close to being exclusive to facebook, just merely an example. This also occurs if I stay on the web page I'm signed in on then open up, lets say, itunes. When I then go back to the webpage, I'm signed out again. This is rediculously frustrating. It makes safari completely unusable with any application or with multiple webpages. I usually love safari and never wanted to switch to any other browser but I don't think I can hold out much longer with this.

I can't search with google, everything is being searched for by [URL].The problem disappears if I log in as a guest but reappears when I revert. It also searches with [URL] when I try in safe mode.

How do you erase searches in safari? When I start to enter a site address into safari, it anticipates the address with formerly visited sites. How do you erase these formerly visited sites?

I am having a issue with Address Book where I enter my Google login info, it seems to connect just fine, but when I close out of preferences and then the app and relaunch it will no longer be connected. The checkmark box for Google syncing becomes unchecked and everything. It was working fine for a while but I recently opened a new Gmail account and have wanted to sync with that one instead. For some reason now neither of the accounts will stay connected.
