OS X :: How To Remove The Installed Iroffer Package
Jun 30, 2010
Someone has accessed my computer and installed Iroffer.[URL]
I have located the folder in which it was installed, but I can not find the uninstaller.
In the Terminal, I can see that someone has been using FTP in order to download the packaged file, and subsequently ran the ./Config command to install it.
I have checked the iroffer website on how to uninstall, but nothing comes up.
I installed some fonts and now have 1148 installed, many of which I wish to remove. However, Font Book 3.0 freezes on loading so I am unable to proceed. I am running OSX 10.7.4.
So I downloaded an app from this site but I can't seem to find it, is it possible that I've contracted a phishing virus, if so what are the steps i should take to remove it? [URL]
i've tried to install 10.5.2 via the software update and directly downloading the update. either way, it eventually says it can't validate the contents of the package.
am i the only one who is not able to install the update? is there a solution to my problem?
I tried ripping my DVDs onto my macbook and I keep getting a msg saying that it needs 64-bit VLC to rip the dvd? So I go to the link and on the VLC media player download section it says: Note: VLC will not be available for 64-bits Intel-based Macs until further notice. You can safely use the 32-bits package instead.
I have just switched to my very first MBP after being a PC user for many years. Could someone please recommend a decent anti virus software package for the Mac?
Installer is unable to open the package. This is likely due to Install framework's runner executable not having the proper ownership and/or permissions.
Leopard Verifies the DVD goes to install then I get: "The installer could not validate the contents of the "basesystem" package. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance." Initially I was trying to upgrade - didn't work. Was unable to boot into anything. Erased HD still didn't work. Verified disk etc., before installing. Machine patched up to date. Running IMac core 2 duo gb ram.
Alright, so far I have tried an Upgrade and an A&I and it still fails with that message. I don't know what to do. I have an unusable computer, and the install keeps failing.
My old 120GB hard drive seemed to be flaky, and I needed the increased capacity, so I upgraded to a 500GB hard drive on my white MacBook. Install was not hard at all, I formatted and partitioned the drive, but I can't seem to install MacOS X (10.5) on it from the DVD's that came with my MacBook. It will boot to the installer DVD, allow me to select the hard drive, and starts the install. However, each time it ends with something along the lines of "Error verifying Essentials package", and advises me to contact the software manufacturer. (Strange that it advises contacting the "software manufacturer" rather than "Apple."). The DVD is pristine, no evidence scratches. I also had problems earlier performing an Archive & Install on the old drive, but I thought this was because it ran out of room. I can also boot the MacBook through my old drive, attached to a USB enclosure. Can that drive be used to install a new system?
I know the issue of what virtualization package is best on the mac has been debated endlessly, but the only thing I have been able to conclude is that some people have great experiences with each package and some people have horrible experiences with each package. I'm interested in some numbers and figure this place is a better forum for collecting this data than, say, the apple store.
This PKG makes snow leopard able to be installed on Windows PC's. I'm trying to do this on my PM g4 400mhz running 10.3.9. Or would it work better on a eMac? .
Trying to change some icons in Leopard. Doing it the manual way, not with candybar. I went into the dock package contents and change the finder icon and trash empty and trash full. I deleted the cache, killed the dock, even rebooted yet it always defaults back to the original leopard icons. If I go back in to the package contents, the new icons I want to use are in there. Having the same issue with all the icons that need to be changed via package contents. System Preferences, VMWare Fusion, and the ones above.
I used to use a program called "virtual Cover Creator" for windoze and am looking for a similar program from the mac. The software generates 3d software boxes, books etc for display on the internet. You can see an example at (URL).
I have just purchased an iMac, my first experience after many years with a Windows PC. Do I need to subscribe to a security package such as McAfee? The sales person told me that the iMac has its own protection and firewalls but I just wanted to check as I am not very technically proficient.
Some of my applications that came with OS X 10.4.11 have become damaged. I have tried two ways of replacing them from the 10.4.11 Combo installer package downloaded from Apple. I removed the faulty ones from my Applications folder and then ran the installer. None of the applications were downloaded into my Applications folder. I used Pacifist to look into the installer package. In the Applications folder within the package, all (or most) of the applications had the generic icon that shows that an application is broken or incomplete, and when I extracted two of them by means of Pacifist, they retained that icon and did not work. And, more importantly, how I can obtain working versions of iCal and Address Book?
My friend just bought a pretty clean G3 iBook that currently is running Tiger. he wants to hook up his iPhone to his laptop, but iTunes wants him to have Leopard in order for it to see his 3G iPhon my friend downloaded the Leopard update but when he tried to run the update, the laptop gave him some sort of error that says, "installer package cannot be used can anyone throw me a lifeline or two as to what the problem is? he really wants to run Leopard but so far he isn't having any luck.
Is it possible to write a workflow that can select files that are contained inside a folder package?
I am trying to automate a file copy of VMWare fusion 3 files to a windows machine on the network but I cannot seem to get any of the finder actions to give me an option to get inside the package.
I've been working with iMovie 5.0.2 lately to splice together clips of historical shows that I have on my computer. It is great for cropping them to the right moments, but I find that it takes forever to import film and then to share a movie, not to mention the unwieldy size of the final product. I learned the trick of dragging the clips directly into the media folder of a project, but I still have a problem with exporting the final product. It takes forever, and unless I choose a format exceeding a gigabyte, the quality is rather poor.
On to my question: in the package contents of an iMovie project, there is a folder called Shared Movies, then a subfolder named iDVD. I have found a high quality format of my movie there, and it is much smaller in size. While I have noticed that it relies on the individual clips in the Media folder, I can't help but think that its size would be much smaller overall if I were to somehow free it from relying on the clips, as the size of the entire project is under 300 mb. Any suggestions on how to get this movie free of the other clips?
Has anyone had problems with the latest update ? My Mac seems to be stuck on installing 3 items - running package scripts..I also have an installation alert that says to close iTunes to continue installation. However iTunes wasn't even opened when I started the software update.

I messed up a library and lost a project, then I found a copy of it in the backup folder, now when I open the project it asked me to relink files, but a part of them are inside an avchd package. How to relink those files ?Â
Installed a new 750GB drive into my MacBookPro 5.1 Couldn't get Winclone to make image so I was forced to start from scratch with a new XP installation.
My MBP is partitioned 25%Mac & 75%XP with bootcamp and I have the old drive in a enclosure connected with a firewire. So all of old files are on the external drive now.
After installing XP I have no internet connection, drivers etc... However if I boot up on the mac side everything works fine. (I cloned the mac os already with Carbon copy).
So can I just copy all my old drivers over to the new drive? If yes how and if no how do I get them installed on the new harddrive. The MBP came with everything preinstalled.
I'm thinkimg of buying the samsung ln46c670 tv, and already have a free agent go flex hard drive, with a mac laptop. I want to play movies from my hard drive on the tv with out my computer being in the way. My question is how do I do that, and is it necessary to buy the freeagent go flex tv media device to play it through. Or should I invest in a bluray player that is wirless ready, or if I even need the c670 model tv with the internet apps. Which combo package would be the best?
