View 1 RepliesI have a Canon mp450 multifunction printer attched to my windows machine. I have shared the printer to my wireless network and my other windows machines can print to it with no problem at all but... Both of my macs will not print to it. I have tried to go through the printer setup wizard but it doesnt find my printer under default browser. So I searched for it under my network and found it and added it but the printer still doesnt print. I am brand new to mac but I am loving it other then this one issue.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just bought a brand new iMac and this is my first ever mac. Downstairs we have a Windows XP PC that has a canon iP4500 printer connected to it. I am trying to connect to it on my mac over the wireless network in our house. The printer is set up to be shared and works over the network as we can print from our Windows Vista Laptop wirelessly. Our wireless network is set up over a Belkin router. On my mac I am managing to see files on the computer that the printer is connected to. On that PC I can see shared folders on my mac. When I go to print something on my mac i get the error "Error Number : 311 Printer is in use or an error has occured. If an error has occured eliminate the cause of the error." See below - Thumbnail 1] And on the windows pc in the print queue window the print job shows up as a "Remote Downlevel Document" with a file size of 0kb and nothing gets printed. I have visited canons website and tried all OS X drivers including the CUPS version and NON-CUPS version. I do not know what I am doing wrong in my printer setup.
View 13 Replies View RelatedRunning SL 10.6.1 I have the following two printers: Canon i860 and the Canon S9000 connected to my computer via a USB bridge. I have downloaded the lastest drivers from Canon for both of the above mentioned printers. I have even switched (for the 860) to the driver that was supplied by Apple. Every time I print, the colors are super dark and the colors are also off. IE a bright ruby red will be maroon in color. The color is completely off. I have tried printing from Photoshop CS3, iPhoto 09 and also Canon Easy Photo Print. The colors will come out pretty much the same no matter what I am using. I have changed out my inks. Didn't work. I have tried pretty much every setting under the above programs and nothing is printing correctly. I have never had this problem. I don't know if it is Canon's driver issue under SL or if this is a printer issue for both of my printers. I have sent in a request to Canon but in the mean time, trying to figure this out. I have printed 50 pictures of the same picture trying to get the color down and nothing is working. I have searched google, made sure I had the correct ICC for the printers and printer paper. The only thing I haven't done, which I am just thought about as I am typing this is trying connecting the printer directly to my Mac Pro instead of going through the bridge. Does anybody else have any suggestions on what I should do? I have also been reading this thread:[URL:....] which lead to the following page. [URL:....]
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have purchased a Canon D480 for my office and I am trying to network the multifunction Canon through my Time Capsule. I have a MacBook Pro and the Canon D480 is unable to auto detect the IP address so that I can print. I downloaded the drivers from Canon's website, dropped the Canon folder from the disk that came with the Printer into my Mac HD, added the canon printer and now I get a error message stating that the "recipient not found". I tried to manually add the IP Address, subnet mask and the gateway address and that hasn't worked either. I'm at my wits end and I'm not a technical person. Is there anyone that can help me with this problem?

I've just moved from Windows 7 to a new iMac, and nearly everything has been smooth with the transfer - except my scanner.Â
I have a Canon LiDE 30 which works perfectly well with my Windows box but does nothing at all when I plug it into the iMac. I've not loaded anything like the Canon scanner toolbox, and I can't find anything relevant on a search apart fromn some pre-Lion stuff. I don't know enough yet about my iMac to fiddle
I am getting nowhere with installing the Canon LiDE 210 scanner software on my 2010 MBP. All I get when I try to scan is "insufficient memory". I can scan using Image Capture and with the trial VueScan software so the problem looks as if it is something to do with the Canon software or the way that it installs on the MBP.

Is it possible to use printer Canon LBP-810 with Mavericks?Â

I am using a Canon MP620 all in one with my MacPowerbook running Leopard 10.5.8. My Canon software is MP Navigator 1.05. The printer is agonizely slow. Sometimes after I press the print button it can take over a minute to even start. This not only occurs when I first start up but after the printer has been in use. This occurs when printing black and white text or pictures. I have been going through a hub and have not yet tried a direct connect which I will shortly. Anyone got any ideas or is this just a slow printer?
View 2 Replies View RelatedProblem: Canon MP560 printer won't print from 2008 Macbook Pro 10.6.5. It is recognized, I can print a sample page from the printer utility, but InDesign CS5, Acrobat Pro, Word 2011, text edit, Firefox, etc won't print to it. I'm not sure what caused this to start happening, as I've had this printer for almost a year. It is recognized on both USB and WIFI, yet neither connection works.
View 1 Replies View RelatedCanon advertises this printer as having ONLY Windows drivers, however there is a solution if you are interested in buying the printer (I bought one for around AUD150, delivered in Melbourne). As reported in Macosxhints here there is an OSX driver for the Canon LBP3000. Go to the linked Canon page (which is in Japanese) then scroll to near the bottom of the page for links to the driver (MXCAPT160). Download that and install it. Edit: The printer dialogue (when you attach it) is then in English. It doesn't offer all the options available in Windows (mainly output quality & economy modes) but is fine for straightforward printing to A4, letter, legal, A5, A6 and a couple of Japanese envelope sizes (Yougata-4 approximates DL).

View 24 Replies View RelatedI've got several Apple computers in a network. I'm using a Canon multifunctional PM600R for printing. It's connected on a iMac DV with a USB-cable. I'm using a Vigor wireless router. It was alle working perfectly. With my Powerbook I could use the printer wireless. Recently I bought a MacBook with Leopard. Up until today I can't print wireless. When I connect the Canon printer directly (USB), it will print. But that's it. I've downloaded the most recent software from the Canon website. Unfortunately, it won't work. In printer configuration I just can't select the printer because it doesn't show up in the window of the Canon IJ network tool.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOK, it seems that the only alternative to a huge Samsung duplex laser would be one of these printers.
But as it doesn't duplex for fax, the workaround would be to duplex scan and then send the fax from the computer.
Or as a last resort, fax from memory card or USB stick. Is it even possible to do that?
I have recently convinced my dad to switch to macs. He has now bought an iMac and a macbook air so I am helping him set them up. He works a lot from home so he uses a scanner called Canon ScanFront 220P, here is a link: [URL] I cannot find a driver so I can install it. I have never used a scanner like this myself so I'm kinda clueless now

I have a black MacBook dated 2008, a Time capsule also dated 2009 and a Canon multifunctional device model i-Sensys MF 4140.
The MF4140 worked great until now when connected via USB.

I already downloaded the proper driver from the official Canon software/driver download web page or I hope so...
I am going to get a new mac mini tomorow and i have a wonderful canon FS10.
Whenever I use it on my pc it is reading as .mov and i have heard from many that .mov is not read, and my cam is supossed to be reading as mpeg 2.
Has anyone got a work around for the Canon IPF500 printer.
I need to get this working, but waiting for new driver to be released from Canon.
Anyone know any temporary fixes?
So last year i purchased a new mac book, with my laptop I received a Canon iP4500 printer. I have had no need for it until now. I start the software installation, when its complete it asks to align the printer heads, this is where the problem arises. My printer is on, but since the printer doesn't connect via USB. The printer setup program searches via bluetooth, but every time the printer never shows up. Am I doing something wrong with the computer or the printer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter hours on the phone with Canon support, they told me it was a MAC problem. I have a new Canon Pixma MX860 printer..
First , Downloaded drivers from the Canon website with their support phone person helping set it up. Printer worked wirelessly with the MAC for 2 days. Then gone. Printer no longer on printer list and won't print either by USB or wirelessly. Called Canon support.
He guided me thru reinstalling in different ways, repaired permissions, set up additional acct name, but still the printer in not listed on Printer Browser screen when wireless used (it is listed when USB connected, but cannot print)and not listed at all on Print & Fax screen. My MAC doesn't recognize the printer now. What happened?
Here today , gone tomorrow. And nothing was downloaded , updated, or anything added or done to the computer from one day to the next. It is a huge mystery.
Did a disk utility 1st aid days before...nothing needed repair...Did the 1st aid, due to slowness starting, downloading from cameras very slow, and message "start up disk is almost full", which it is NOT ...46GB available.
I have a Mac Pro and when I plug my Canon EOS Rebel Xti into the USB drive, it doesn't appear as a mounted drive. Instead what happens is the light for the CF card on the camera just blinks rapidly. I'm not sure what's going on here. The camera works just fine when plugged into my Windows PC (which I'm trying to leave in the dust!!). When plugged in, the open as dialogue appears. Why the trouble on my Mac?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've downloaded the Canon drivers to my MacBook. Now what? How do I actually install the particular printer so that it shows up on a print menu?
View 5 Replies View RelatedHere's what's going on:Â
I'm using OS X 10.7.3. I'm in System Preferences > Print & Scan. I click the + to add my Canon MX870, which is connected to my wireless network. I select it under "Nearby Printers". It says:Â
"Software for this printer is available from Apple. Would you like to download and install it?"Â
I click "Download and Install". When the progress bar reaches the end, it says:Â
"The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software."Â
So. I download the latest driver from Canon (version 10.51.2.0) and install it. I go back to add the printer, and I get the same message.Â
I then download the latest printer software from Apple (version 2.8, which includes MX870 series drivers version 10.51.2.0) and install them. I go back to add the printer, and I get the same message.Â
So. Instead of selecting it under "Nearby Printers", I choose "Add other printer or scanner", which brings up the "Add Printer" dialog box. My printer shows up as a "Bonjour Multifunction". I select it and "Print Using" defaults to "MX870 series". It says "The selected printer software is available from Apple. Click Add to download it and add this printer."Â
So. I click "Add". It goes through the motions again, eventually bringing me back to this:Â
"The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software."Â
All of the Bonjour settings are ON in the printer settings.Â
Using the Canon utilities still brings me to the "Add Printer" dialog box. How can I add this printer??

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.3)
We have a Canon MF4380dn (similar to MF4370dn) and we cannot print to it from a MacBook Pro that is running Lion 10.7.3 We have tried connecting via USB and via network and have installed the latest UFR II 2.30 driver from Canon. We have completely removed the drivers and re-added them with no success. It can see the printer when it is connected either via USB or via network and it adds the software correctly. However, whenever we try to print a test page it seems to send it to the printer and then it immediately disappears and no page prints
