OS X :: Print With Canon Via Time Capsule?
Jun 20, 2009
it's been a year I have been using a mac and I am 200% enthusiast about it, I also managed to solve all the problems, until now...
I have a black MacBook dated 2008, a Time capsule also dated 2009 and a Canon multifunctional device model i-Sensys MF 4140.
The MF4140 worked great until now when connected via USB.
Now I want to print wireless with the help of my Time capsule, so I connected the MF4140 to Time capsule but it doesn't work. I can see it in System preferences/Print & fax/add via Bonjour but I cannot find the proper driver in Print using...
I already downloaded the proper driver from the official Canon software/driver download web page or I hope so...

Here is what I've gottwo MacBooks at the office running wirelessly via Time Capsule/Airport. One of the MacBooks has been plugged in via USB to an HP printer (my manager uses that one).
I've been printing wirelessly to an Epson printer. I told my manager that she could also use the Epson and she gave it a tryit worked fine. However, ever since then I have not been able to print to the Epson!?
I tried deleting the driver from the print utility and adding it back on to no avail. Any ideas as to what happened or what I can do to solve the problem?

Just got my Time Capsule today and had absolutely no problems getting it all set up with my MBP. Created a new wireless network with my AirPort Express in the other room and now I can print wirelessly off two different printers. What a breeze!
Trying to get our two XP machines to recognize the printers? Forget it.
Both XP laptops recognize the Time Capsule with no problems. I can log on to both, and basically it works like its supposed to. But I can't get the XP machines to see the two printers. Frankly, the Apple support pages weren't much help. I tried to create a port with the specific IP address on the AirEx. And I also redownloaded the two HP drivers.

I have MacBook OsX 10.5.6. Had a direct printer connection but recently decided to hook up my Epson R1800 stylus photo printer through TC. I removed the old default printer and added it through System Preferences-> Print and Fax. It is recognized as a Time Capsule Printer, bonjour kind.
But when I press print i get for 2 seconds window saying that page is printing but printer queue is empty and nothing happens. It feels almost as if printer is not hooked up. I can not locate this printer on Epson Utility (separate software) either. Does anyone have or had in the past similar problem?

Epson 4800 print perfectly on direct USB connection to MacBook Pro with the 9.17 Epson driver, but when connected to USB port on the Time Capsule, there is red sign and notice that the printer is unconnected. Both the port of the Time Capsule and the cabel are OK, as I print with them to Epson SP R800 without any issue...Â
Time Capsule is correctly recognised on the local WiFi and set with correct password. USB port is working for other printers correctly. Just the 4800 is not recognised. I tried everything (deleting the printer and reseting all printers too)...Â

We have a Canon MF4380dn (similar to MF4370dn) and we cannot print to it from a MacBook Pro that is running Lion 10.7.3 We have tried connecting via USB and via network and have installed the latest UFR II 2.30 driver from Canon. We have completely removed the drivers and re-added them with no success. It can see the printer when it is connected either via USB or via network and it adds the software correctly. However, whenever we try to print a test page it seems to send it to the printer and then it immediately disappears and no page prints

My MacBook, 5,1; OS 10.6.8 can't seem to print directly using my Canon Pixma MP 640htheÂ
It can find the printer as an IJ device via LAN, and it will tell me that the print job is being sent and that it has printed but nothing comes out. Same result when i connected it via USB cable. Have tried installing/reinstalling drivers from Canon and even once got it to print a test page. Â

I recently purchased a brand new iP4500 and afer installing the latest drivers and setting up everything I cannot print..
The test prints come out OK (thus, the printer connection is good and working). Tried evrything, even tried printing from the root user. I spent 45 minutes with Canon Tech Support and they basically said "There's a problem with your system not spooling properly, and there's nothing else we can do from here, go to Apple"
Now here's the deal, I have two iMacs (one g5, one Intel, both with 10.5.6 but otherwise differently configurated) And I get the same error in BOTH.
Is there anything I could be doing wrong?
Can I have any suggestions to get this going?

I can print to it from my old Mac G5 running 10.5.8 with no problems. I do have the latest driver installed from Canon's website and also tried reinstalling it several times without any luck.Â

I just purchased a Time Capsule for my Mac, and now I am able to hook up a Canon laser printer directly to it. My Mac recognizes the printer connected to the Time Capsule, but keeps aksing me to "Choose a Driver or Printer Model" when I am setting it up. I have downloaded the Canon print driver from the Canon website and I can find the Canon folder on my hard drive. However, it seems that I can't fine the actual driver.

All of a sudden I cannot print to my Canon MF4370dn. I am connected via the wifi network. I didnt have a problem with any of this until a week ago. I called Comcast and they told me that they connections were good. I know this is true since my ADT service is working just fine and it is connected to this network.Â
I called Canon and they are not supportive at all. They tried to uninstall and reinstall printer but it still did not work.

I bought a Canon MP970 printer and hooked it up to the airport extreme, changed all of the ports to 10.0.1.1 on my XP, shared the printer, ran Bonjour, ran airport utility, and everything I know how to do. I can print from my Powerbook G4 and from a new black macbook that I just bought on my network. Problem is I cannot print from my windows XP PC. Very frustrating. It did work fine with my HP printer; that is print from my laptops AND my PC desktop.

I have a Canon Pixma MX700 connected to a PC and am able to print text/word files from my MAC to the printer via the router without any problems. However, whenever I try to print a document containing a table or a graphic, it doesn't print in the right place, and there is often a blue 'echo' of the table or image that also prints. I am currently using a gutenprint driver.

I have an Airport Extreme Base Station set up that is connected to my modem. I purchased a new Airport Express that I have used to extend my network. I plugged my Canon MF8050cn printer into the USB port of the airport express. I've added the printer successfully, but when I try printing to the Canon via wifi, I get this error: Â
"Canon CMFP Printer Driver; Printer is not responding.Check the printer power and connection, and then try sending printing job again." Printer power is on and connected correctly. As a side note, I am able to print to the printer successfully when I plug the printer into my macbook air directly via USB. So I have two printers added, "Canon - USB" and "Canon - Wifi". The latter is the one that gives me the error. I purchased the airport express so I could print wirelessly as I'm unable to move my printer closer to the Base Station.Â

I have a Macbook air and my printer is a canon 6150.Â
When I go to print it doesn't always print out properly when I am using word and adobe pdf files. It seems to print ok when I open documents in preview.Â
I have been on the phone to canon and reinstalled the printer drivers and tested the printer by doing a colour copy and printing on my phone. Both of these work. As these work the cannon dude says its something to do with the setting in my computer rather than an issue with the printer.Â

Trying everything from installing ix4000's driver to CUPS driver and so on. The printer works fine when connected to my MacBook Pro but when trying to print on windows xp network.. nothing happens.
Sometimes it says not authorized some time it keeps on trying.Â
When adding a printer I choose windows and I see it and can add it . The driver is available and everything works fine....But it doesn't print or it seems MBP can't send information to that computer which has the printer. The printer on that computer (XP) is shared . Â
I have a Dlink DIR-615 router and we all are connected to it. Should I follow a defined procedure or what? Idon't know what to do . I even couldn't print a single page..

I am trying to print via wireless from my iPad (3rd generation) and iPhone 5 to my new canon MG3520 -- but it seems I have to set this up first to use with airprint? How to do that---? Â
OK I set-up the LAN (first connecting printer to the MacBook Pro running 10.8.5) via USB and then removed the USB cables so that now the iPad and the iPhone can select the printer - but it just prints blank sheets of paper and says there is an error each time.Â

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion, Also a Mac SE running 6.0.4 - not upgrading that!

I have had difficulty in attaching my HP Photosmart C5580 printer to my new MacBookPro (OSX 10.6) through my Netgear WGPS606 print server. After much searching I found previous posts here which advised me to add the Gutenprint driver 5.2.6 which I did. That finally DID successfully attach the printer through the server.
However, there is a lag of many seconds (sometimes minutes) between the SEND command and the starting of the printer. Is this the new normal that I need to expect or is there a fix?
