May 14, 2012Many times my computer takes too long to connect to new website. I have wireless internet (time capsule) and I am running a pretty powerful real time financial work program at same time, what is the best solution? Upgrading speed from cable network? is it a hard drive issue? do I only need to "clean out" the computer? Or all of the above...not to computer saavy. It is a Macbook Pro osx 10.6.8 (late 2010).

May 1, 2012When I try to watch videos on the Apple website, they won't play. I have a Macbook Pro with OSX Lion. I'm not sure when it stopped being able to play them. I know it had no problem when I first bought the computer 2 years ago.I don't have problems on any other websites. All my software is up to date. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling flash.

Jun 20, 2012Just brought home a brand new 13" MacBook Air. Went to the Apple website and couldn't play any videos. YouTube videos play fine, and the Apple Trailers website plays fine. It's just [URL] that won't play videos.
There are no extensions in Safari (so DivX isn't the problem). QuickTime 10 is installed. It's fresh out of the box. Haven't changed a thing. what we need to do to get videos playing from the Apple website?

May 13, 2012While trying to fix my disabled USB ports on my MBP, (Installing some sort of USB driver that wasn't made for my specific OS, which is 10.7.4, which came from the apple website.) I rebooted my computer and I notice that once the loggin screen shows up the cursor won't budge. Then I try hitting Enter on my mac and the arrow keys a little. Nothing. Then I try using every key on the keyboard. Absolutely nothing. Tried resetting the PRAM, SMC, AND tried using Safe Boot. Nothing. At this point I wanted to smash my computer or smash something technology related. The only thing that works on my computer now is the little slim of hope that I call Windows 7 which I am posting this from.Is there ANYTHING I can do to enable my Trackpad and Keyboard again?

Oct 5, 2010I can't connect to a certain web site -[URL] I am running 10.6.4, and all my browsers - Safari, Firefox, Chrome - don't open that site. I get the same connection error that I would get when I enter something in the address bar that does not exist.
Funny thing is: I can connect to Zenfolio from my iPod touch on the same router. So it should be a problem with my computer - but what could be wrong? No entries in "Proxies", and the hosts file looks innocent as well...

Dec 16, 2009Is it just me or is the Microsoft website down? And has been down for a couple of days? I was trying to update an install of office and it wouldn't connect. I tried to go the the M$ website and it doesn't connect. I cant imagine a huge company like M$ would allow there site to be down for so long.

Dec 11, 2014The problem is that my mac cannot connected to google related website(including "www.google.com","youtube.com",map and other websites), I list some detail points bellow.
1. I have tried both safari and Chrome. They both didn't work, so it should not because of the browser.
2. I have tried to use an iPhone, which was in the same wifi, to access these websites, and it worked well. Thus it should not because of the website connection.
3. I user "terminal" to ping "www.google.com", there is no data transmitted. By the way, it works well with other websites like Facebook except google related
4. Surprisingly, it can access google through "www.google.com.au" and some IP address.Â

All the usual suspects eliminated: cable modem, router, and traceroute to the server showed no significant lags. All other downloads normal. Sent an email to Apple yesterday, then tried the dl again today. Got this message: "Due to a scheduled upgrade of Apple's support systems, some features of the website are currently unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience."

I have installed all updates via the software updater and the issues I am having are the aluminum keyboard is no longer functioning correctly. Jun 3, 2012In grad school renting a furnished apt for the summer, and trying to hook up HP printer (4215) to my Macbook that runs Lion. I've noticed on the discussions there are weird things that go on with HP and Lion, so I followed the advice of another discussion and downloaded the software/drivers noted for HP from the Apple website (software update did not detect). Â
Now, when I go into system preferences to add the printer, the printer shows up to be added, but forces me to click "add" to add and download the software - which I don't need, having already downloaded it. As other people have mentioned, this results in an error "this software is not currently available?
Is there something stupid I'm missing? It's a USB connection, printer is recognized by the computer, but the automatic software won't download and I'm not sure what to do with the software I DID download to get it to be recognized. Â
