OS X :: Apple's Own Website Doesn't Support Quicktime X?
Sep 3, 2009
I thought that I would just point out that when I went to watch the iPod touch Guided Tour on Apple's website, this showed up:I would also like to point out that I upgraded to Snow Leopard, I didn't install Quicktime 7, meaning that Apple's own website doesn't support the newest version on Quicktime.
Been trying to dl 10.6.4 combo for the past 3 days and getting max dl speeds of 40-60Kbs. All the usual suspects eliminated: cable modem, router, and traceroute to the server showed no significant lags. All other downloads normal. Sent an email to Apple yesterday, then tried the dl again today. Got this message: "Due to a scheduled upgrade of Apple's support systems, some features of the website are currently unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience."
I rented a movie this evening, it downloaded but an error message that says the movie requires quicktime that is not compatible with this version of iTunes. How do I watch the movie? I have never encountered this one before.MacBook Pro, Santa Rosa, OS 10.6.1, iTunes 10.6.1 (7)
Every musician that owns an iPad uses it for their sheet music. Why won't apple officially support sheet music on iTunes? Every sheet music app on the ipad is terrible and apple stands to make a lot of money, seeing as how I would buy all of my sheet music from them if they did it right. This seems like it's right up their alley too, with the strong support of the arts on their devices.
Just trying to get an aswer about playing my .mov files.I have the new Ipad and I have been recording videos.I'm looking to get these videos online on my website.What is the best way to put this on my website so there is a video player and all.Right now I just added the videos online but there are no play, pause and rewind options and its just 1 big page of video.
I installed the QuickTime 7 with Registration code but seem it cant use it for .mov to .flv format, can I get teh refund coz that's why I nrought the software for.
Just wondering if you can help me. I am trying to listen to a live stream through a website using quicktime/flip 4 mac. It seems to work fine, it loads the audio stream, plays the audio and the 'play position' curser moves along, but the problem is, when the play position curser reaches the end of the bar, it goes right back to the beginning where it started...
Is this a common problem? If so, does anyone know how I can change it? I've tried it in Safari and in Firefox and they both appear to do the same thing.
My OSX is Lion, (10.7.4) but the Quicktime support for MPEG-2 format is missing. When I look in the Quicktime system library there is QuicktimeMPEG.component & QuicktimeMPEG4.component, but no QuicktimeMPEG2.component. So, I presume its not there. How do I fix this? Do I have to re-install something? I had Quicktime 10.1 on my system, but have now also installed Quicktime 7.6.6. I need to work with some MPEG-2 videos & convert them to MPEG-4 format. I gather I can do this with MPEG Streamclip, but not if MPEG-2 support is missing!
Info: MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2009), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
I own both an iMac and a MacBook.Lately I've been trying to use [URL] and while the website does work, it displays totally wrong on my iMac ?I looked at all I could think of (not a newbie, but not savvy enough to go look in the coding to look for errors there).The one section from the site which displays correctly is one without a menu on both right and left. It's a blog. Here's a clue, I guess. I tried with both Safari 5.1.6 and Firefox 13.0, with the exact same result. But on my Macbook it displays perfect! I am using Firefox 12.0 on it. So I downgraded to Firefox 12.0 on the iMac... no success.Of course I also cleared the cache, closed the browser, and the computer... no luck.I then removed all plugins, since it was the only remaining difference...I thought it could be a difference in display... altough I couldn't see how... I changed it from 1920x1080 to the ones similar to my Macbook's (1280x1024 and 1280x720)... Of course it was the same, just more blurry. It doesn't make sense and I hate it when it doesn't make sense!Of course I hate it even more that I can't use that website on my iMac!!! (or with a lot of hassle).Â
I was just playing around with my 11" MBA and found it doesn't seem to support the 64-bit OS X kernel. I tried holding the 6 and 4 keys at bootup then running 'uname -a' in the terminal and it reports I'm still running the 32-bit kernel. I also tried running "sudo systemsetup -setkernelbootarchitecture x86_64" and it reported that the architecture had successfully been changed, but on rebooting I found I was still running the 32 bit kernel.
Sarfari won't open when I turn on my Mac. I get the message that the Sarfari I'm using doesn't support the community toolbar. How do I go back to my old Sarfari that did support it.
Sometimes it does load the main page, but very slowly and any link I click starts loading forever but without any success.
Does anyone know what the problem could possibly be? I have already called the site and they told me they are not experiencing problems. In addition, it does load on Windows...
Safari is giving me a pop up that says "Safari doesn't identify this website". It comes up every time I search and when i press continue the webpage doesn't load properly.
My attempts to install Mac OSX 10.6 on iMac MC309 bring always the same result - kernel pamick. What I did was:1. insert DVD Snow Leopard Install Disk, reboot and press ''C' - kernel panick;2. reboot into Recovery Mode, open Disk Utility, erase  the preinstalled Lion completely, format the disk as Mac OS Extended (journaled). Then try to reboot  into DVD  Mac OSX 10.6 install disk: kernel panick.3. In Disk Utility go to restore tab, use DVD install disk as source and use my disk as destination, hit restore. When trying to reboot kernel panick happens.
