MacBook Pro :: Wifi Not Working After EFI Update

I just did the firmware update from my late 2011 Macbook Pro 13" (running 10.7.3) which all seemed to go fine, except I can't connect to my wifi any more. There is another 13" macbook pro, a 13" macbook air and 2 android phones which can all still access the wifi. I keep getting a message that my password is invalid (I know it's not). Everything I have tried has been done with the power supply connected.I have:
-rebooted the wifi router
-rebooted the mac
-shut down, waited for 5 minutes and rebooted
-repaired permissions
-deleted the keychain and tried to make a newconnection
-tried reinstalling the EFI firmware update from a .dmg (it won't let me)

It took me a lOOONG time but I finally bit the bullet and bought a macbook. So far so good, I will be giving it a memory upgrade in a few weeks but right now I could use some serious help.
The computer won't connect to my Netgear WGR614 wifi router. I called Apple, they said the airport works and I may need a router firmware update. I updated the Netgear router. I have tried using the WEP, the WPA and also tried with the router set to zero security. The macbook still won't connect. Here is the kicker, my old windows based laptop and my wifes newer netbook picked up the new upgrade without issue.
The macbook (I loaded all the macbook updates with hardwire) will go through the network diagnostics and end up being unable solve the problem.

This morning I performed a 'Software Update' on my Macbook Pro and 6 new items were updated. The Mac then asked me to restart so I did but when it came back on I logged in as normal but it won't connect to my wifi unless I type in the password. I've tried Utilities > keychain manager but all I get is 'Access to this item is restricted' (when I click on show password and login again). My ipad and iphone are still okay and can access the wifi fine.

I have been facing many problems on connection to wifi with my MacBook Pro Retina (mid 2012)
I'm using mavericks and updated to 10.9.4.
My wifi is working well , when I am outside of home , but when I am at home wifi list will not display anything.
Even my iPhone wifi hotspot is not being displayed at home , but out side of home it's ok!!!
When I select join other network , after entering wifi name and password sometimes it can connect , and some times I need to reboot my Mac to connect.
I also installed Windows 7 using bootcamp , And every thing was working very well in windows.
for Solving problem I tried removing wifi Preferences files , create a new location , clean re-installing OS, but none of them worked.

I have a MPB early 2011 and I have talktalk internet. I have absolutely no problems with my wifi up until the last week. I can use the internet perfectly fine downstairs when I am in the living room (where the router is located) as I am typing this using it, however when I go upstairs i.e. to the bedroom directly above where the router is situated I am still connected to the internet at the wifi symbol is black however i lose internet connection and I am not able to use the internet at all. This is a new issue as before, I was able to use my MPB anywhere in the house without any problems.
I don't believe it's the router as my iPhone connects fine upstairs and we also have a MPB late 2013 and that works perfectly fine upstairs.

I use a 4G Galaxy Nexus to broadcast a private WPA2 network. The 4G signal is always strong, and I've verified that the internet is active on the broadcasting device, and that other non-Apple devices maintain a solid connection. However my macbook pro does not lose the network connection, the internet stops working only on the macbook pro and I must "turn Wifi Off" and back on using the top right menu icon in order for the internet connection to resume working on the laptop. It will stop working every 5-10 minutes.

My iSight on my MBP used to work fine on all apps as well as video chat sites, but it recently started working only occasionally on Omegle/Chatroulette. On my end, I could see myself, but others said they couldn't see me, and their cams were just black boxes like they weren't loading. It was the same way on both Firefox and Safari, so it couldn't be a browser issue. I thought it may have been an issue that came with the newest OS X update (the one with the Mac app store from just the other day), so I reinstalled OS X from the disk that came in the box. Now chat sites don't even recognize it and I get the "webcam required" message as though I don't even have one. But, Skype and iChat can use it just fine. I even reset the SMC by holding down left shift, control, option, and power with the computer off, but nothing changed. I am running the latest Flash (ver. 10.1.102.64) according to [URL].

Installed the 2.8 firmware update on my late '08 macbook pro and after restarting it, it would just beep 3 times and not start up. I pulled my 8 gig kingston ram out, repositioned back and still the same issue. Slapping in the original 4 gigs of apple ram, it will start up and work fine though. Is there a fix to get the 8 gigs working again on the machine?

Wi-fi was working perfectly all they way till I ran the latest update 10.7.4.
Now when I do a cold shut down, the wi-fi on the top right hand corner is blank. Cannot do anything to turn it back on. I always try to turn on, but fail.
Basically, it comes down to restarting the computer and praying that the wi-fi signal comes back on. Sometimes, I have to do a cold restart and it seems I'm playing a gambling game. Maybe after 3-4 times the wi-fi signal will become normal again.
This has been happening for about a month. Yes, I'm just getting around to complaining. I did not do time machine, so I cannot go back before this happend. Either, I do a whole another system install or there is a patch I could get.

I've been dropping my wifi since the update. It drops all the time regardless of what I am doing. I have to shut off and then turn on wifi again to show listed. The router works fine with other devices (iPad, iPhone etc) plus my PC.

I updated to 10.6.4 the other day on my mbp 17" 2.93 mid 2009 model the other day. Since, my computer has developed two problems. first and most annoying, the keyboard doesn't work properly anymore. Shift keys don't work, then they do work. One side doesn't then the other side does. option and command do the same thing. Is this a documented problem? I searched and saw it was prior to 10.6.4, but I never had any problems until this update. Also, when I shut my computer, instead of going to sleep now. It goes crazy, fans jack up to full speed and it gets super hot. Doesn't sleep at all. Funny enough before the update, when i closed the lid the computer would go to sleep and wouldn't wake up.

I did the software update.After that my 1 and only USB port is not working anymore.Totaly dead. Cant do any hardware test, since they ask to use a dvd. Well no USB so no Disk Drive So no hardware test.
Also the online test is not working.Need to download a file. which is failing to.
Dont know what to do.

My sound does not seem to be working following the latest update to Mavericks (10.9.4). I am running a 2012 Retina Macbook Pro. Sound does not work with speakers, headphones or built-in sounds. Its not on mute, I have checked the Audio Midi setup and Sound settings and everything is as they were prior to the update, so the sound should still be working.
I have tried resetting the SMC and PRAM, no luck yet. Also tried re-installing the update but did not work.

I have a 13" MacBook Pro that was purchased in January 2014. Recently I installed the recommended updates for OS Mavericks on my computer. I rebooted the computer as recommended and when I went to login lo and behold my keyboard will not function. None of the keys will work so I couldn't even put in my login password to even see what the problem was. Naturally I went to all the apple forums I could, to find a solution and none of them seem to work. I reset the PRAM and SMC and still cannot get the keyboard to function. While under disk utility the keyboard functions just fine. But It will not function in a regular setting.

After I did the 10.7.4 update on my mid-2010 macbook pro core i7 this evening, my wifi adapter/internet is not working, it is grayed out and says "no wifi hardware found". I have re-booted my machine 4-5 times but that did not help.Apparently, if I boot into recovery partition via holding Cmd+R > there my wifi is working and is properly connected. Infact, I am writing this message through that receovery partition safari window connected to wifi just fine.Another weird nothing I noticed is if I boot into the Safari-only Guest User account, there also wifi is working just fine, no problem.However, in both of my user accounts, it is giving me this "no wifi hardware found" error and won't connect to internet. In fact, ethernet wasn't working as well in user accounts.

installing the 10.7.4 update on my 2011 iMac 27". The symption is that the iMac drop its Wifi connection after a period of time and when that happens the iMac cannot detect any wifi networks in my area (disabling & re-enabling Wifi on the iMac doesn't help). I have to resort to restarting the iMac to revive the wifi interface. Note that my other devices (including my iPhone and my MacBook Air)can connect to my Airport Extreme without any problems.
