I haven't received my MBP yet, but from what I've heard, it works really well. I don't see a lot of mention for it though even the things I have read say that it's a great program.
View 7 RepliesI connect to internet at home(direct connect to internet) and office(throuth web proxy) on same macbook pro. Before update to Safari 5.1.7, AdBlock and ClickToFlash both worked fine in two place. After update to safari 5.1.7, safari always report that AdBlock and ClickToFlash is invalid when at office. But AdBlock and ClickToFlash work fine when I at home.

Now GPU accelerated flash is here, do you think that ClickToFlash will still be necessary to get decent battery life when browsing? Or should the battery life be much improved with the new Flash install?

The downloading/installation was no problem, but I heard that you can get youtube to be automatically "white listed", so I assume there is a preferences section for this plug-in? If so, where is it? My safari screen went blank and a pop up with the safari logo said i may be infected with a serious threat and to call a support number. I didn't and quit safari then reset safari.
Have i been infected? How do I find out?

Many extensions on extensions.apple.com cannot be installed.However, extensions that I installed before, no problem, such as AdBlock, Bing, Echofon. Others, will not install, it will be stuck at installing. And Safari may lose response after a while. I initially noticed that if I try to install YouTube5 which I downloaded myself, Safari will immediately lose response.
Tried solutions:
- Reset Safari
- Run OnyX
- Repair disk permissions
- Deleting all the extensions; extensions I installed before will install, others won't
- Deleting Clicktoflash and Glims
I was wondering if it was possible to tell Safari to look in multiple or different keychains for login credentials. I have x509 certificates that I want to put in a different keychain from the default "login" one, but when I surf to a webpage that requires that certificate, Safari doesn't seem to want to use it.

I put off doing the software update on Safari... I just HAD a feeling something would go wrong and I didn't have time to mess with it if it did.
So today I ran and update. And it messed up.
Now Safari will "open"... it looks like it is open and I have access to all the menus. But a Safari window will not open.
I am surprised that I haven't seen others with this problem. I have tried deleting the cache and deleting the preferences file. Neither seem to have made ANY difference.
I'm at a loss as to what to do. And I am feeling like I'm missing a body part. I need my Safari back!
When I open Safari 5.1.5, it automatically opens all the pages from my previous session. Can I turn off that feature , and how?

Safari can not access the site but mozilla is able to with no problems. My good friend has an imac and his safari will access the site with no issues. I have un-installed safari and re-installed it with updates. I have no clue what is going on. I can continue to use Mozilla but I paid to use my MBP with Safari.

Running OS X (10.9.3) and Safari 7.0.4. Can't print pdf files from Safari and sometimes can't download them either (error says they are corrupted) but I can download from a windows laptop. I found something online about disabling a pdf plug-in, but it was for Lion, so not sure if it's still the correct fix. Also, how to uninstall a plug-in unless you provide exact locations of where the plug-ins are stored.
