MacBook Pro :: Safari Screen Went Blank And Pop Up With Safari Logo?
Sep 7, 2014
My safari screen went blank and a pop up with the safari logo said i may be infected with a serious threat and to call a support number. I didn't and quit safari then reset safari.Â
I have built a charity website for the Gurkhas [URL] there is a secure members area which requires the member to put in their email address and password. One particular elderly member with an 9 month old Apple Mac running latest version of Safari finds that when he puts his email and password in and hits 'Sign In' the input lines go blank.Â
The software is Serif Webplus X5 and is working with Windows and IE and most other Apple Mac/Safari users. I am not an expert in the Mac/Safari environment and have remotely logged on to this members machine and cannot see anything obvious.Â
I and Serif have both tested the particular webpage with Safari in a windows environment and several Serif Forum users who are Mac users have tried the page with no problems.Â
After installing Snow Leopard, I noticed that when I select a web page from the Safari startup grid (medium 6 web pages), the screen turns white with many vertical lines. This lasts for approximately 4-5 seconds before the web page loads. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Whenever I click on a PDF in my Safari window all I get is a blank screen. For some reason it has stopped opening them in Preview. I need to look at a number of PDF's. If I could download them I would but these links do not give me that option. What do I do?
My Safari homepage is blank. Bookmarks and toolbar are there but my Earthlink page and address bar are blank. The Safari version is 3.1.2 and the OSX is 10.4.11 My Internet Explorer (which I rarely use) and Firefox are working fine.
My daughter's old I Mac won't start. It is not backed up. We want to get some things off of it if we can. When we turn it on, we get the Apple logo with spinning wheel for awhile, then a question mark briefly and then a sky blue blank screen. Is there any hope of getting this to work? This computer is out of warranty. Does it seem that if we reinstall the Operating System we might find old data? Â
Occasionally while I'm working, the safari window I have open will go white and refuse to reload. I'm always able to type in the address box, and if I have other tabs in the same window they won't blank, but I don't know why it acts this way- is there something wrong with the computer? It isn't one specific site that's causing the problem, it happens across a range of pages. I'm working with Lion software.
This has just recently started happening...when I type in a web address such as [URL] it will pop up and then disappear to a blank screen or some other websites just come up blank....does anyone know how I can fix this. My friend just started a new company and I can't even look at her site because it comes up a white blank screen and apparently I am the only who is having this problem. I have reset Safari and even clean up my hard drive with Onyx. Please help!!! Also, I have seen other post regarding this problem and I have clicked on the links for software for parasites but they all seem to be for Windows. I am running Safari on a Macbook 10.4.11
My safari extensions window has gone blank. I have a MacBook Pro running 10.7.4, and I recently downloaded some extensions from the Apple Site. I've trashed the Library/Safari/Extensions plist folder and re-booted but this has not helped. I can install them but not manage them through the preferences > extensions window.
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
i have safari 5.1.2 when i expand the 'show more' section below a video to view the extra information, the info will not show the box expands but it's blank. the only way to view the info is highlight and drag downward the text you can see at the very top of the box
I surfed a proxy web site to access a site that's restricted in my country (Mexico), which was a bad idea, but I needed to access that site. In any case, about twice when I was browsing from the proxy site, a file named "About-Blank" (not exe, don't know what they where) was downloaded to my "Downloads" folder. I deleted the files and that was that, I was just wondering how is it that safari downloaded a file without prompting me? and could there be any repercussions for my system?
Since the latest update i can't load any pages in safari. The apple start page only loads a shortened version of the main page and then if i click on anything else nothing shows up. When i go to different websites i can see the title at the top of the page and sometimes the page even flashes to what the content is before going blank or green or whatever the background color that site has set. If i go to preferences and uncheck "enable javascript" i can get pages to load but its almost useless as i can't do much without it enabled, such as use my gmail, etc. Any ideas what could be causing this? I've run the flashback tool and that virus is not found. I've removed all extensions and reset cookies, reset safari and still nothing. If i use firefox i have no issues whatsoever so i'm not sure why safari is having issues.
I use safari and I was trying to open a PDF file on my schools website. When the page came up (still in safari) it was blank. Why? I haven't changed anything that I know of.
Info: Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.2), 2.2 ghz intel duo core processor
Everytime I click on a link to download something (mostly powerpoints or documents for school), I click on the link and it opens up a blank window tab which i have to close and it becomes quite annoying and pointless. Is there a way to keep this from happening? Ive searched in the preferences with no answers.
You can close or dismiss tabs in Safari with the X on the tab until you get to the last one. How can I dismiss the content there and get a blank page, similar to the way Safari in iOS 5 works.
I am not sure why my Safari browser goes blank and I have no idea why. I was working before but it now only shows "Blank page" after I upgraded a new version of Safari about 3 months ago. Â
I like and use Top Sites but it has become unsuable with this constant blacking out and reloading the thumbnails. My MBP has not seen a problem at all.Â
I have been searching every other day for over a month trying to find a fix in Windows Safari with no joy. I want to resolve, not switch browsers. only refreshes the Top Site thumbnails once a day or as some controlable interval. Started about two versions ago, now on ver 5.1.5. Windows 7 64bit.
When I open up safari, every webpage works. But, randomly www.--------.net loads up blank. Reloading does not help either. Every other page works still. The only way I can fix it is to force quit safari and then reload the program...I have tried deleting the com.apple.safari.plist and the only extension I use is LastPass.
Using Safari, when I go to a webpage with a .pdf URL the page is blank. I recently upgraded to Lion and purchased/installed Adobe Acrobat X Pro (I was using Acrobat 7.0 with Snow Leopard). The only way to access these types of pages is by trying to download linked file (which sometimes doesn't work).
