So I recently downloaded the plug-in "ClickToFlash" which lets you choose when you want flash to launch, if at all, and seems pretty useful. The downloading/installation was no problem, but I heard that you can get youtube to be automatically "white listed", so I assume there is a preferences section for this plug-in? If so, where is it? If not, how would I go about doing the aforementioned.

I just realized that I have a bunch of plugins for Safari, yet some of them I don't even remember installing.
Could sb please tell me if it's safe to delete any of these? I would just like to have the essential one.
At Homedepot.com there are some videos that I want to watch and it says I need a MIME plug in to view them? Where can I get one?

I go on Justin.tv all the time to watch the Office and when I do I don't notice any lag but recently I have occasionally. I checked activity monitor and it says the Flash Plug in is at around ~45% CPU. Why does it hog so much CPU? How can I change this? Is this normal for flash?? I thought my MBP would be able to handle this..

I have an i5 27" iMac and was curious why VMWare Fusion with Windows 7 was running so slowly. My iMac works at a snails pace when I try to run VMWare Fusion and anything else at the same time. I thought it might be a memory issue. I have 2 gb of RAM allocated to the virtual machine and 2 gb for Mac OSX. I was looking at the activity monitor and noticed that the Flash Player (DashboardClient Internet plug in) was taking up almost 600 mb of memory. What is the flash player that takes up so much RAM? Do I need to have it running? The other big program I am using that is taking up alot of RAM is PS3 media server which is taking up almost 500 mb of RAM.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was very excited like everyone to install new Safari 4 and the excitement sustained for a while. Ubiquitously, it is visually delightful meeting Apple Standards. However, I lost lot of plugins that I had for earlier Safari version. Plugins like: DivX player, Real player are gone after I installed the new version. It is not recognizing by itself if there are missing plugins and neither I see an option where I can install by myself.

I am currently using a Macbook 10.5.8 and Firefox 3.6.3 and Safari 4.0.5. Also i have restarted my macbook, updated it completely, tried reinstalling Adobe Flash Plug-in, done the disk utility repair disk (even though idk if i did it right) and i have been surfing the web for two days to find a solution.

However, this morning, before I left for the Apple store, I plugged it in and it worked. My husband also has this problem once in a while and his is brand new.Just so you know, I've never had this with my Mac Book Pro.

I used finder to search my computer, and I cannot find this file. I was wondering if there was a way to use the iPhone's audio jack as an external jack for the macbook pro via USB or so, as i own the 13 inch model, that only offers one jack.
I want to use garage band just trying out a bit and i'd need an extra jack for the headphones, otherwise the microphone will record what's played over the internal speakers.
EDIT: I forgot to say that I already tried things like AirPhones, meaning wireless stream to iphone. But there's unfortunately few moments of latency, so i hardly can use it for recording.

I connect to internet at home(direct connect to internet) and office(throuth web proxy) on same macbook pro. Before update to Safari 5.1.7, AdBlock and ClickToFlash both worked fine in two place. After update to safari 5.1.7, safari always report that AdBlock and ClickToFlash is invalid when at office. But AdBlock and ClickToFlash work fine when I at home.

I recently downloaded an avi file but it does not want to work with quicktime 7. When I attempt to open it i get the "quicktime does not support this file" message however when i right click the avi file icon and select get info, the video playback works in the preview section... In prep for moving to the "Cloud", I downloaded Lion last night without the knowledge that my 2005 version of Office would no longer be supported. Silly me, now I need to either switch to IWORKS or something else, immediately, so I can get back to work. If I download IWORKS or LIBRE will I be able to open my OFFICE files that are already on my computer?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAbout a month ago, a friend who had just purchased his first Mac emailed me and asked why his Dock DownLoad file disappeared. I had no idea why. He still hasn't been able to reestablish it.
Yesterday, I downloaded something and my Dock DownLoad file vanished. I have tried rebooting, using (useless) Help, Spotlight, Search, and several other things. NO JOY. NO DownLoad file.
1. Does anyone know where to find DownLoad or how to bring it back?
I have experienced several idiosyncrasies with Snow Leopard, but when I call Apple support, they are very nice, but haven't a clue as to why it's happening.
2. Another problem is that the Highlight gets anchored on something in Mail, Word, and some other Apps. When I click somewhere else, the whole area between the "anchor" and what I click on is lit up. Apple doesn't know what causes it. I have to go through multiple machinations to shake it loose. I don't know what it is that causes it or specifically how to "shake it loose". Neither does Apple.
3. When typing in Word or an editor, there are times when the type changes to UpperCase and won;t let go.
Another problem is that, at times, when I click on a file, it fills the screen. Apple is aware of this problem and is trying to find an answer. Nothing, to date.
Apple support can't tell me why the MacMail Inbox spinner disappeared or how to get it back.
There are times when I can't access the hidden Dock. After rebooting and trying other things, the Dock finally shows up but any additions that I have put on the Dock are no longer there.
When I put a DVD in the slot, for the first few seconds, it grinds but does smooth out.
I thought that SL was supposed to get rid of the "foibles". "What happened on the way to the Forum"?
Is anyone finding other SL idiosyncrasies? What are they?
If anyone can help with items 1., 2, and/or 3. I'd be grateful.
BTW, Apple says that items 2 and 3 MAY be caused by the wireless Magic Mouse and/or the wireless keyboard; however, when I use alternates, it still happens.
I am trying to figure out what is making my June 2009 17" UBMP act up - tons of spinning wheels, lock ups, trackpad issues etc. I have done verify & repair permissions twice, all software updates are in place, done a PRAM reset twice and run Tech Tool Pro Deluxe which shows no issues. Someone asked me to check that my Plug-Ins were OK but I have no way to tell as I know jack about technical things! I have managed to copy what they are on a PDF attached.
