I have just updated my Mac Pro to OS X 10.9.3, then my Epson Scan driver cannot work anymore... (Though the printer works...)
My Epson belongs to the "Epson Stylus SX 430" series, according to here:OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download this all-in-one machine should be compatible with OS X 10.9.3, but I can not find the proper driver software... I have downloaded some new softwares from official web. of Epson, but it did not work... It seems that Epson did not have a effective software for OS X 10.9.3....
Mac Pro: OS X 10.9.3
Epson Stylus SX 435W, Scanner cannot work because of invalid software.
I have a Epson Perfection 636u scanner from 1999 and am thinking of getting a new iMac. On the Epson support page, it lists the newest driver from 1999 and says that it will work on Macintosh system 7.5 to 8.6. (here is a link http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/s...s&platform=All). Any chance of this working on Tiger? I don't see myself buying a new scanner because I use it just a few times per year.
I reattached my Epson Perfection 1650 Photo scanner to my Mac G4 (Sawtooth) desktop today after updating the drivers and all to OS 10.4, which is what is on my computer. (The updated drivers also work for 10.5, which is on my laptop, but that doesn't matter here.) When I hit the Smart Panel icon on the desktop, the computer went to Classic mode, for some reason, even though the updated software is for OS X. I was able to get a Twain window, but when I clicked on any of the options for scanning, I get a message saying that the scanner is not recognized (something about a bus). I looked at all the available FAQs at the Epson Web site, but they are not helpful or relevant. For example, one told me to turn off Scan Monitor in Extensions, but of course, there is no Extensions Folder in OS X. One other FAQ suggested reinstalling the software that came with the scanner, but that was way back when I used OS 9.2.2, so how could I then bring it up to 10.4?
Most of the other FAQs were for people with Windows, so of course, those didn't help at all. The Ready light is on; all the cables are plugged in properly. I'm ready, willing, and able. I can't get Epson support, because the scanner is out of warranty, and the Epson online helpers (private) want a good deal of money to provide an answer. Granted, I don't have to pay them unless I am not satisfied with the answer, but I'd rather not have to sell the farm, when I could get a new scanner for only about twice what they are asking to give me an answer. OR (breathlessly hoping) if I can get some ideas here. I have a lot of pages to copy and send to someone, and now I'll have to copy them manually at the local store or across town, at my mother's, and then send them through the mail. It all seemed so straightforward and simple: scan and send to the eager recipient.
I have upgraded my MacBook pro to Lion. Since this latest upgrade, my epson perfection 2480 scanner is not compatible with the latest upgrade. How do I make sure that whatever I buy now is compatible?
I have an iMac with a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and am running Mac OS X 10.7.3. My Epson Perfection V700 Photo Scanner worked great with Snow Lepord but now does not work with Lion. I downloaded the driver for Mac OS X 10.7 but I continue to get the message "Cannot communicate with the scanner. Make sure the scanner is on, correctly setup and connected with no errors in the scanner. If using an SCSI connection, restart your computer."
I have connected the scanner with USB and then with Fire wire and then both. I have deleted and redownloaded the driver files. I could not get communication. Can anyone help. The scanner and iMac are too large to drag to a genius bar.
I just purchased a used Epson 3170 Perfection Photo Scanner. When I try to use Image Capture, the software recognizes the scanner as a device. But I get the message "Failed to open a session on the device."
Note: From the Epson site, I downloaded an Epson ICA Driver v5.2.6 for Image Capture because "This driver corrects possible issues when using Apple's Image Capture utility with an Epson scanner."
I have an Epson Perfection v500 scanner and am having problems getting the Image Capture app to recognize it. The included epson scan software will not work with Snow Leopard- this includes the newer "snow leopard compatible" drivers and app.Anyone else have problems with the Image Capture app and Epson scanners?
a new epson v600 scanner will not communicate with my iMac running OS X 10.8 - get the blinking yellow error light. Epson says the scanner is fine. I have updated all Apple software, incl. Epson drivers.
how to get the scanner on a Canon MP800 scanner/printer to scan with Lion software. I've installed the Canon Version 3.0.4 driver but it still doesn't work.
Info: iMac (24-inch Early 2008), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
I have a HP Photosmart B110 printer/scanner and I'm running OSX 10.7 Lion, I have no dramas printing but the scanner is not recognised. If I go to System preferences> Print & Scan, it shows the printer but won't show the scanner!! I obviously want and need to use the scanner but am unable!
I just joined mac rumors because I'm tired of windows and I'm thinking of buying a mac. My first question is any idea why apple doesn't offer a biometric scanner?
Second question. Has apple ever offered financing for their products, and I don't mean That lousy Juniper card. I was thinking of getting a MBP,MAC and an I MAC and that is a lot of money , just wish Apple had financing like Dell or the other computer companies.
I found an old scanner in my house and I wanted to connect it to my sisters Macbook. I've connected the power cord to the mains and the USB cable into the Macbook, the light is on on the scanner but I don't know what to do next. The scanner is a few years old so I don't know if it needs an install CD.
I am using a HP LaserJet M1212nf MFP with my macnook pro and for some reason even though I can print, my mac wont recognise there is a scanner attached? When I try to reinstall the MFP via the HP software assistant, the system gives me an error message that tells me I need admin rights to continue, however, I am the admin and the box in preferences reffering to admin allowing to make changes is ticked?

I am using my new fotofilm scanner, but my macbook only recognizes it as a webcam. How can I change that, because now I can only use it through facetime, which is not ideal if you want to use it as scanner ;-)

I use a MacBook Pro to print to an Epson 9800 roll printer -- been doing this for years with no problem.
UNTIL NOW! All of a sudden, the Epson is laying down huge quantities of ink, especially when I print onto film (for screen printing). It puts down so much ink, the ink dribbles down the film and drips off the printer, pooling on the floor, until I leap up and cancel the job. What's more, the printer is printing a light-colored background to images that had no background to begin with.
Here's the catch: *this only happens in Photoshop.* (I'm using CS 5.1.) If I take the same image file, place it in Illustrator, and print it, it comes out just fine. So the problem lies in Photoshop's print options. Somehow, something got changed in the last couple weeks, and I have no idea what.
I'm hoping that someone here will be familiar with this *particular* printing problem, and what the *specific* Photoshop printing option might be that is causing this.

I'm looking to buy a photo scanner to get some old photos onto my MacBook. I don't want to spend a fortune but would like to get the best for my money (upto 100) also scanning negatives would probably be good. I have seen the Epson V300 in my price range, can anyone recommend anything?
I have just purchased a Macbook Air and would like to use it with my Fujitsu fi6110 scanner. Fujitsu does not have a driver for this scanner so I was wondering if anyone has experience with this. Fujitsu suggested asking Apple or trying ScanTango. They have a program that is compatible with the scanner for $99 but it is not as good (to me) as Adobe scan program on my PC.
Have macbook running OS X 10.5.7. Bought an Epson NX100 printer from Target for $30, it says Mac compatible, but my macbook won't recognize the printer. I tried installing the new printer but there is no "Epson NX" from the drop down menu.
Usually with new printers you can just plug it into the USB port, install new printer, and you're set.
I am having trouble installing my new espon artisan 730. When I add the printer to the print queue selection, it says that software is available from Apple for download. When I click download and install, it then tells me that the software isn't available and I can't install the printer.
I recently purchased a mabook pro and would like to make it wireless printing with my espon printer...the epson has already been installed by putting the usb cord in but i wish to make it wireless so I don't have to use the cord all the time, how can I go about this...
