Nov 26, 2007Is there such a scanner that you can set in say 500 or so pics and then it will automatically feed and scan your pics, while you are away at work for instance? If so, that would be worth its weight in gold I would say. Any links to such a device would be nice and/or reviews of such a device if it exists.

Dec 2, 2007I just bought a new Canon LiDE 600F flatbed scanner and have set it up and installed the driver disc. I want to be able to import documents and photos directly from the scanner into Photoshop CS, however when I select "File>Import>CanoScan LiDE 600F...", instead of taking me to the default Photoshop scanner preview window it opens up the crappy "ScanGear" from-the-disc software, which I don't want.

May 18, 2009I've had a MacBook for nearly 2 years and recently convinced my parents to switch from a PC to an iMac. I've managed to get everything up and running with the exception of our scanner which is an Epson Perfection 1640SU.When I push the scan button on the scanner, the computer recognizes the scanner and comes up with a preview. I can make adjustments with the menus but I can not actually push the "scan" button because it is grayed out. I've attached a screenshot so people get an exact idea of what I'm dealing with.

Hammacher has one that is a good example of what I'm looking for [URL] but their specs say that it requires Windoze XP or Vista. Is there such a thing for the Mac? I'd like to avoid a flatbed scanner, not to mention creating a Windows partition just for my photo scanning project, if at all possible.

Apr 5, 2012I have an iMac with a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and am running Mac OS X 10.7.3. My Epson Perfection V700 Photo Scanner worked great with Snow Lepord but now does not work with Lion. I downloaded the driver for Mac OS X 10.7 but I continue to get the message "Cannot communicate with the scanner. Make sure the scanner is on, correctly setup and connected with no errors in the scanner. If using an SCSI connection, restart your computer."
I have connected the scanner with USB and then with Fire wire and then both. I have deleted and redownloaded the driver files. I could not get communication. Can anyone help. The scanner and iMac are too large to drag to a genius bar.

MacBook :: Norton Scan Keeps Stalling Just Near To Completion
Jan 15, 2009I'm running a virus/addware/etc. Scan on my Macbook, with Norton (yes I know some of you hate Norton but thats what I got back in the day so its what I'm using) and the scan keeps stopping about half an inch from completion and just sitting there. The computers fans start to run like its working too hard or something and it will not go any further. It has stopped with around 49946 files left three times in a row now. What's going on? I have tried to delete the file it keeps stopping on then it just stops in the next in line. I just got Leopard and don't want to install until I know my system is ok. On a side note what Anti-Virus is best for Macs?

Jul 2, 2014I have a hp deskjet f4280 and when I am trying to scan from my MacBook Pro Mid 2010 (MacBookPro7,1) the scanner and image capture app froze... I was observing the issue carefully and I think it is due a problem with the "HPscanner.app" When it is working on the preview it freezes and state at 99.8% of use of the processor.... The problem is only in this computer. I have another mac, MacBookPro8,2 and it scans properly and without any problem.
