I'm looking to buy a photo scanner to get some old photos onto my MacBook. I don't want to spend a fortune but would like to get the best for my money (upto �100) also scanning negatives would probably be good. I have seen the Epson V300 in my price range,can anyone recommend anything?

This is my first post to peripherals (I'm usually at the Apple TV Forums)--and I was wondering if anyone knows of a decent, dedicated photo scanner that's Mac compatible. Hammacher has one that is a good example of what I'm looking for [URL] but their specs say that it requires Windoze XP or Vista. Is there such a thing for the Mac? I'd like to avoid a flatbed scanner, not to mention creating a Windows partition just for my photo scanning project, if at all possible.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an iMac with a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and am running Mac OS X 10.7.3. My Epson Perfection V700 Photo Scanner worked great with Snow Lepord but now does not work with Lion. I downloaded the driver for Mac OS X 10.7 but I continue to get the message "Cannot communicate with the scanner. Make sure the scanner is on, correctly setup and connected with no errors in the scanner. If using an SCSI connection, restart your computer."
I have connected the scanner with USB and then with Fire wire and then both. I have deleted and redownloaded the driver files. I could not get communication. Can anyone help. The scanner and iMac are too large to drag to a genius bar.
Is there such a scanner that you can set in say 500 or so pics and then it will automatically feed and scan your pics, while you are away at work for instance? If so, that would be worth its weight in gold I would say. Any links to such a device would be nice and/or reviews of such a device if it exists.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI seem to having a problem with Photo Booth thats kinda weird. I take pictures with Photo Booth, but once they are taken they dont show up in the little row on the bottom. They are in the folder in Finder, but they don't show up so I can view them in-program. Just an odd thing I thought I would see if anyone has a fix for.Nothing major, just a minor annoyance.

I can't combine those two. I can't put all of my pictures in my laptop. I want to organize those pictures. I want to put an driver in my usb and the app/software just organizes the pictures from that driver, than, when I plug in another driver, I want the pictures from the last driver out and the pictures from the connected driver in.

I take pictures with my iPhone 4s and they go to my iPad just great but I only get about 50% of them to my MacBook Pro. They are radomly not there. There will be five or six that are there then 5 or 6 that are black no photo. All the warythrough the 200 photos I took on my latest trip? Is there any reason for this random messing up of photos? Is there anyway of getting them on the MacBook short of syncing my iPhone 4s through iPhoto? I am not liking this Photo Stream right now to many missing photos.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt was good that Apple added the much needed "Delte" Featuer to Photo Stream. The next issue that came a long for me is: Photo Stream still saves all photos I take into my iPhoto library.
So, even though I choose "Delte" in Photo Stream there is still a copy saved in my iPhoto library.
Usually it creates an event and names it "May '12 Photo Stream" or something similar.
Then I again have to go into this event and delte the photos a second time.
Is there a way to disable this feature?
I would like to manually add photos from Photo Stream to my library.

Anytime I try to use Aperture to Import my photos from the Iphone to a folder in my Mac, Aperture will import some photos to the folder I Chose, but other go only to the iCloud Photo Stream...

I need some sort of free program to take two pictures and put them side by side. It's a one time deal so I don't want to pay for it, I just have images of artwork and their respective placards that I'd like to be able to put side by side as one image so it's easier to follow.
