My iMovie keeps on crashing like every 3 mins. I've looked up ways to get around this and I have tried to delete the com.apple.iMovieApp.plist files but their aliases cannot be found/I cannot delete them...

upgraded and most recent ff build (3.5.2) crashed immediately
was able to keep it open long enough to disable all plugins and extensions and it stayed up for a few minutes but now it crashes again
I cannot use Safari for more than 5 minutes without this error popping up (especially when using links). Is there anything I can do to fix this?

So I just got iLife 08 and I am upgrading from, I guess it's 06 (came on my mbp c2d) -anyway, I upgraded iweb, imovie and iphoto -
iphoto and iweb seem to have upgraded and it seems imovie did too BUT when I try and open imovie it keeps crashing...
I looked in the applications folder and see it made a "previous imovie" folder with my old one...
i try and open imovie 08 and it opens for a second, seems to try and load and shuts off...
iMovie '09 keeps crashing everytime I try to scroll down when looking at Music, text, transitions etc.
I'm using Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6
I made a short movie in iMovie 09. Into the project I imported a song from my iTunes. Then I wanted to fade the music because it lasted longer than the video. So I clicked on the little gear that brings up the clip trimmer. But rather than bring up the clip trimmer the software crashes. Again and again and again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I deleted all of my iMovie Events (Events NOT Projects) Because it was using about 80GB+ of my HDD space. I deleted these from the finder, not from within iMovie.
Now whenever I launch iMovie it will try to load the events, nothing happens, then searches for iPhoto movies, then in the video preview window I see an image saying Source Missing.
This has not happened recently. When I want to work on a clip, iMovie HD will suddenly crash.

I'm sorry if this has already been posted. I looked for the answer on here and couldn't find it. I NEED HELP...BAD! I have Leopard and I was working in iMovie on a project and when i finished i went to save it and then the color wheel came up for over 5 minutes and then it automatically shut down imovie! i lost the whole project that took me over 5 hours to do! i still have the DV files that i imported, but not the editing that i did! i havent used TIME MACHINE due to the fact that i dont have a external HD. Recently, in the middle of working with applications in iPhoto09 they simply crash. I get a message stating no harm was done but it's getting annoying as it's happening more often than not. I am new to mac, have had it now for maybe two weeks, but wouldnt expect apps to crash this often. Any thoughts?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a project file that was created using iMovie 5 HD. In this project file were a large number of unused clips and also the final film, edited with transitions, backing music, end credits, etc.
However when I import this project file into iMovie 8 I cannot find the final edited film anywhere, just all the clips that were both used and unused within the project file.
How can I get the final film back without spending about a week re-editing everything?
In iMovie HD there was a button saying Video FX where you could access your downloaded effects, is this possible in iMovie 09?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 13" MBP which I bought a few months ago. Everything works fine, battery life is wonderful, it couldn't be better. A few weeks ago it began "chiming" about every 20 minutes. One single tone - not a beep - more like the chime from a tuning fork. No message is displayed on the screen when it occurs. Sometimes it happens when I'm using the machine (normally web browsing). Other times it chimes when the screen is closed down and I'm re-charging. It doesn't happen when I start up. I've even checked to make sure there are no other browsing screens opened in the background.
