May 29, 2009I have a powermac in the office with latest version of tiger installed, when the main user logs in I can see his wallpaper but only the spotlight search icon in the top right hand corner and thats it. When I move the mouse over it it beachballs. All other profiles are fine.

Sep 26, 2009My iMac takes 3 minutes after logging in, until it allows any inputs. Stays stuck on the desktop, none of the hot corners work, nor does the dock allow inputs for about 3 minutes. I checked the Console immediately after it allows me to, and theres a bunch of stuff on the IOkit that seems to be the culprit.

Apr 13, 2010Just can't decide which screen option to get, been to my local store and sure, the glossy screen is a lot more reflective. It shouldn't really matter but I do prefer the design of the black bezel. Difficult to tell how usable the screen will be in a real-world situation.
Anyone use the MBP on stage, is reflected stage lighting a real issue with the glossy screen? How about outside, is it unusable?

Feb 7, 2008We all know, spaces are great for organizing. But when I use Adobe apps such as Photoshop CS3 Extended or anything in my CS3 suite, there's some weird glitch. I usually switch back and forth between spaces. And when I go back to the space with my Adobe app open in, on the stage my tools don't work. I select something such as lasso and go onto the stage but then, it twitches, from normal cursor to lasso cursor. This happens on all tools, and only some parts of the stage I can draw/use the tool on. Sometimes I can't even use it at all. I'm forced to quit the app and restart it to keep on working.

Jul 31, 2009I've been using Flash 8 Pro on my imac G5 for a few years now with ZERO problems. When suddenly today the stage is STUCK in the upper left corner of the screen. Meaning the white stage is no longer centered and for the life of me, I can't figure out why or HOW to get it centered again.
I can see the grey area around the bottom and right of the white stage area, but even when I zoom all the way out, I can't see it on the left or top of the white stage. When I zoom all the way out, the white stage area is PERMANENTLY stuck to the upper left side of the screen and I can't move the stage around at all.
Could someone please shed some light on what went wrong and how I fix it? I assume it has something to do with the x and y axis? But I have no idea how to correct this.
I also don't remember changing ANYTHING that would cause this.

Jun 17, 2012I downloaded the macbook pro updates last week, installed them and then experienced kernal failure. My computer is back up and running fine now (after a rather lengthy fix) and I was wondering if the update is safe o install yet? Specifically, the iPhoto, iTunes, AirPort Utility and iMovie updates.
The main reason I am eager to attempt the update is because my iPhoto now no longer works, and I presume it is because the iPhoto update has not been installed.

Final Cut Pro X :: 10.1.3 Keeps Crashing Even After Update?
Aug 26, 2014I've recently updated to Mavericks and updated FCPx, however whenever I import footage to the timeline or move clips around, FCP just freezes. It sometimes says its loading a project and then doesn't allow me to do anything else or even quit. Im VERY VERY angry now because it is holding me up on deadlines. Ive been to the genius store, they came up with a solution however the it is still happening again!!! What do I do??? Â

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Main @mac.com Email Address Not Working
Apr 4, 2012I have a number of email accounts. Including two name@mac.com accounts. My main @mac.com account has stopped working. i.e. it cannot retrive mail. The other @mac.com account is working just fine. The mail is there - if I look on the iCloud server page. But it will not download. I get the constant password incorrect message. Had this before (haven't we all) usually a quit and restart mail clears it. But this time no. This is also on two machines, my MacBook Pro and my iMac. Both running 10.7.3.I've deleted the password in accounts section - and re-entered it.
I've gone to iCloud and logged in with that password - so its correct.I've gone to Apple ID and confirmed that this is my password. So its correct.Now I'm stuck. It just refuses to download my mail for that account. All other accounts are downloading just fine.Any ideas of what I can do to try and clear this? Or what might be causing this. Started a couple of days ago.

Aug 29, 2010A few days ago, I tried to install a minor update for NeoOffice (mac native OpenOffice) and the installer crashed. I figured no big deal, it's not an important update anyway. Today I tried to install the new Google Voice and Video program (similar to Skype) and the installer crashed again. I figured I had better to a software update because maybe I have some bad version of something. No luck, software update crashes too. ITunes :: Its Crashing After Recent Update
Mar 26, 2012I installed iTunes 10.6 a few days ago. Ever since then, iTunes will run until I try to sync any of my devices. I have tried sync'ing iPad, different generations/typs of iPod and iPhone. They all cause the app to quit "unexpectedly". I can play music from iTunes on my computer - it just fails when connecting to a device via the USB port or wi-fi. I reinstalled iTunes today.

Aug 31, 2010i have a G4, serial number qt21106cl3v. i just installed os x 10.2.3. i cant get on fb or any site that uses flash. it says for me to download shockwave. ive tried and it wont install. i tried to download a new browser, like firefox, or another version of safari and i have no luck.
i cant decide whether its a virus or what. i just got the computer from a yard sale and its in excellent condition. i had to reinstall os x though cuz it had no os. any ideas?? you can find additional info by searching for specs through the serial. i have no prior knowledge of macs and am trying to learn quickly.
also, as in the heading, safari keeps crashing when i try to download any kind of new browser, and the auto updates arent working either.

MacBook Pro :: Software Update Crashing Other Applications
Jun 1, 2012Software Update appears to have crashed Filemaker on my MacBookPro. I'm running 10.7.4 on a 2G i7, 4G Ram.The fist time it lost Filemaker data, I had to go to an earlier back up of the file and re-enter data. It seems like it would have crashed any other application I was actually using.
