Every time I open imovie it works well enough, until i try and record my voice. It automaticaly shuts down imovie, and really frustrates my teacher and I. It's imovie 4.

So far this is my set up. M- Audio Fast Track connected to my Heil PR40 via usb. This is what I use for podcasting with GB and all is well on that front. In iMovie however, my VO only records on the left track and not in stereo. It sounds ok for being on one channel but I would like to have it stereo.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to record sound into I movie using an Mbox. I have it selectied in Sys prefs audio, yet the audio on the i-movie is clearly coming from the built in mic. I also have Mbox selected in the I movie mic tab.

I'm not too sure about the correct terminology but I'd like to record what's being done on my screen with iMovie using CamTwist. Reason being that I want to record myself drawing something from start to finish.
Yes, I did launch CamTwist before iMovie, but it doesn't show up in the camera drop down.
Does anyone what to do? - or even a different application that can get the job done for me.
Lastly. I know there's a sound control option on PCs that allow you to transmit what sound is being played on your computer; for example: playing a song on your computer for someone to hear on Ventrilo.
I recently updated OSX on my MacBook Pro and now iMovie '09 does't give an option to record video from the internal camera.

I created a movie project for school, it is 3 minutes long. When I press the watch full screen the screen turns black and the mouse turns to a rainbow circle and then the application itself shuts off and asks me to reopen it. The same thing happens when i try to share the movie into itunes

I copied the files onto a USB and tried to open/import them onto my new Intel Core 2 Duo, 3.06 GHz iMac. However my new iMac with iMovie '09 won't recognise the files when I try to import them. They stay greyed, not allowing me to import them.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a project file that was created using iMovie 5 HD. In this project file were a large number of unused clips and also the final film, edited with transitions, backing music, end credits, etc.
However when I import this project file into iMovie 8 I cannot find the final edited film anywhere, just all the clips that were both used and unused within the project file.
How can I get the final film back without spending about a week re-editing everything?
In iMovie HD there was a button saying Video FX where you could access your downloaded effects, is this possible in iMovie 09?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo i've recently gotten in the uploading to YouTube craze with my Flip Mino HD but i'm not too happy at the way i've been doing this and am hoping there is an easier way.
As of late i've been importing what i film into iMovie. In iMovie i'll edit the video to my liking. In iMovie i'll "export" to the media browser so it'll show up in GarageBand. Then i'll open GarageBand and edit my film further, dealing with sound; adding music. After that i'll export it as a .MOV to my desktop. Then i'll open iMovie again and import that .MOV file and from there in iMovie will have it upload to YouTube in its original HD format.
So, I have all of my imovie projects backed up on my external harddrive, as well as the imovie program. I accidentally deleted all of the imovie projects and events from the imovie application on my laptop. When I try to re-import the imovie files into imovie, it doesn't recognize the files. I have tried to convert them with iSkySoft Video Converter. That converter program does not recognize the files either. I also tried burning the files onto a disc and then pulling them off the disc with the Handbrake program. This doesn't work either. I also tried importing the files into iMovie HD, which I have on my desktop, but to no avail. Are these files alll useless now? I'm at my wits end because I have spent literally months compiling footage for a documentary.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo my brother's iMac G5 (the original with the obnoxious loud fan) seems to freeze up a lot.We're trying to figure it out. While messing around in Safari, iTunes, iMovie, etc... it will freeze. The only solution is to hold the power button and shut it down. Upon restarting sometimes he will just get the grey screen of death. Nothing happens. Again force shut down and restart. He also will get the spinning beach ball of death where he can't force quit anything. Boils down to a frozen system and the only way to get out of it is to force shut down.We have run DU and hardware test (From the DVD) and everything passes. So we reinstalled 10.4.11 hoping that would clear the issue. Nope. It still freezes up. So I'm wondering is it a hardware issue? He does have some external LACIE HDDs hooked up but not sure if that could cause any issues.

I was in the middle of recording voiceover for a project on FCPX 10.1.3, the recording was working fine, and then when I hit the red record button it wouldn't begin countdown nor will it record. I've trashed my FCPX preferences and rebooted, still having the same problem.

Ie instead of trying to explain common things in a FAQ I would have a video actually showing them. Ideally I'll be able to record my actions on screen and my voice as I describe what I'm doing. I'm willing to pay for the app, but just not that much ie less than $100. Now I don't need an all in one, for instance if there is a free app to do screen recording and another free app that can record my voice and another to merge them together I'm fine with that. I understand that free is free and I have to deal with some of the headaches. Any advice as to what software I would need. A quick google for mac screen recording brings a bunch of results.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhat I'm doing: I have a S-video cable connected from the VCR to my mac with the proper adaptors to make it work as well as the audio cables. when I connect it all up and play the VHS, nothing happens.So I've read a few sources about the internet that have told me I can do this so I went out and got the adaptor for S-video for mac but when I plug it into my mac, it doesn't recognize anything is plugged in.
Will this work at all or do I have to go the capture card/camcorder route?Does my computer not recognize the signal because it's analog?
